Very friendly and helpful staff. Responsive to requests and happy to offer suggestions and ideas for visits/meals etc.
Comfortable furnishings and great shower.
Fruit Yoghurt at breakfast would be a nice addition.

Great location, just a few meters away from the city center. Rooms are silent and well-ventilated. A tasty breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, and high cleaning standards made my stay truly enjoyable.

The location was great & the staff is very friendly. The breakfast is nice too. The room is spacious & beautiful, with thoughtful touches.
The walls are a little thin so you can hear doors closing, etc.

The location was great; away from the noise of the main pedestrian streets and still in the centre of the city. The management and staff are very helpful. I had a stomach bug when I was there and they were all very kind and supportive. Thanks again.

This place was awesome! Traditional maltese old house, cosy room, delicious breakfast, close to sea and close to main sightseeing. Best choice for tree days small trip to check Valletta.

Great localization - very close to cafes, bars and restaurants. Big balcony with the view on the bay. Soft bed. Staff was friendly and helpful. Every day we got a 2-liter bottle of water.
Room was uncomfortable at best. On the first day the fuze went out because apparently a heated towel rack was short circuited (by previous guests) which we were not warned about.
Overall place seems like it was renovated and then the maintanance was forgotten about. Apart from the mentioned towel rack - the terrace doors wouldn't lock, the mutli-positional shower faucet only had the handheld showerhead working, light fixtures next to the bed looked very flimsy and as if they could fall off any second, the main lamp gave very little light, bar stools in the kitchenette were rusted, there were stools instead of bedside tables (which looks fashionably, but is impractical) and ventilation in the bathroom was virtually non-existent making the condensation after evening shower last well until morning.
Don't expect the room to be quiet - doors are very thin, there is space left between doorframe and doors themselves and every few minutes there is a loud buzzing sound (water pump I suspect). The terrace and window of the room was exposed to the view from neighbouring hotel's rooftop bar.

Our second time staying at Paulos Valetta. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. Very good location.

Everything was perfect, the room was amazing and spacious, there was provided in the kitchen coffee and water everyday, and everything was clean. You can talk with Maria whenever you needed something and she was fast responsive. The breakfast also was satisfactory. The location is one of the best since all are super super near! I definitely recommend the place
they could have a towel for the shower to put down when you come outside from the shower to not have water everywhere. Also on the room we were the plastic pipe from the shower was little broken so the water was going everywhere. What I didn’t like was the fact that when we needed something one person came who knocked the door and until I went to the door, they opened the door from our room by themselves..

Location is at the city centre

The place was very nice, centrally located, and the host was very helpful. It is an old house, with a nice renovation and facilities for cooking in the room that I rented. I would recommend it.
The breakfast room in the (dark) basement and the correct, but standard, breakfast food were the only less enjoyable part of the stay. Still very good though. A garden or terrace would be great, but the b&b is in central Valetta, thus difficult to find gardens.

The location was ideal for exploring Valetta. The accomodation was clean and the staff extremely helpful. In addition a good breakfast was available every day. On our leaving day we had an early flight and so the staff made up an excellent packed lunch for us both.

Great location, really nice staff. Room clean and nice, good breakfast 👍
The bed was too soft for me, could be a bit more comfortable.

location good in Valletta centre. Breakfast perfectly fine and staff were nice. Its a bit like staying in a museum, a very old property and conversion to retain the old features makes the place odd. the windows were all loose and we had a huge storm overnight (not the hotels fault) but the windows leaked and water pooled on the floor in several areas.
Musty smell as in all very old properties.

As soon as you walk in, you realize that you are not only staying at a hotel, but you are staying in a historical building that could well also be a museum with all the work of art displayed. It's a 400 years old building but has been amazingly renovated to provide all comfort needed and even an elevator; perfect combination of contemporary renovation respecting the essence of the historic architecture. Great breakfast also, and the location is perfect (in the middle of Valletta), but the most amazing feature was our room's balcony on the top floor, which had some of the best views of the port and Malta! We would definitely love to stay here again!
The air conditioner took a while to climate the room, but nothing terrible.

Maria and Reno were the perfect hosts. They were both so helpful and accommodating. Every day started with Reno providing us with suggestions on what destinations we should visit and detailed instructions on exactly how to get there. Our room perfectly suited our needs. It was spacious, had a working kitchen, a harbor view and AC in the bedroom. It was a 10-minute walk to Valletta's main bus terminal and the ferry so we could easily access public transportation that could take us anywhere. Our hotel was in easy walking distance to several restaurants, bars, and other conveniences (pharmacy, grocery store, laundromat) but it was not in the city center so it offered a little distance and peace.

The hotel is a very historic, quirky and interesting building. The staff were very helpful and friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The accommodation was located close to the city centre with everything you need close by. The continental breakfast was good with optional bacon and eggs. Bottled drinking water was provided daily when the room was cleaned. We stayed on the top floor room and had excellent views from the sun terrace. The room was quiet and comfortable ideal for a restful night's sleep. We loved the original stone spiral staircase used to access the separate kitchen area.
The hotel pictures on the site show the hotel in a slightly better condition than we experienced. The shower was not fully functioning and the tap in the kitchen was loose. We reported this to the manager who immediately sent a staff member to adjust the shower for best performance. We were advised that any faults would be rectified soon. The sunbed mattresses were a bit grubby, but we covered them with our beach towels, so it wasn't an issue.

This hotel offers a very genuine experience of the capital as it is built in an old palace that has been refurbished as a luxury hotel and it has a fantastic location, right at the heart of the city. The rooms are super confortable, combining the confort of a luxury hotel and the historic building. Plus, the staff is amazing. Not only are they friendly and welcoming, but they also are true hosts, devoted to their guests, to our confort during our stay. They also gave us valuable advice about the city and worthwhile tours around the island. We felt very well looked after at all times and we will recommend this place to family and friends, and we will definitely come back here if we visit Malta againin the future. Many thanks to all the Paulos Valletta team!!
All we have is positive feedback and gratitude!

A very cute and cosy place in the heart of Valletta. Everything we needed (including fantastic air con) to explore the city. The staff are what made this place. So welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was more than expected and very appreciated. They were so helpful with what to do/see and how to get around. Our bed was comfy, the place was clean. We had a balcony with partial sea view and fireworks at night. What more could you ask for? Thanks Maria and family for a lovely stay!
