We loved the place

Beth is a host in the truest sense of the word, not just an owner renting her house. She makes her house feel like a home. Interesting furniture and decor. Well stocked pantry, refrigerator and freezer. Her home has everything you could want or need and then some. Out of the ordinary snacks and gourmet breakfast items. Great location.

This house was fantastic for our family Christmas celebration. A great size for all of us to gather. Well stocked with every provision we would need. The host was so gracious and helpful and accommodating to us. We will return!!!

Great house for a group of old college friends in their 50s who'd come to town on the heels of a football game. Lots of room. Super clean. Really well outfitted and comfortable furniture. Plenty of room, too, so nobody was on top of anybody else. So nice to have snacks. And great communication with Beth. Thanks for a great stay.

I would need more than this little box to do Beth justice. But I will say that, in short, the place is welcoming, perfectly decorated, clean, convenient, and feels like a real home. Thank you so much for all of the small touches and communication. I wish you ran these all over the country! A+

We had a wonderful stay at the Sumac Inn for a multi-generational family vacation! The house is full of character and beautifully decorated, and is well set up for visitors. We found snacks and some staples in the kitchen to get us started and even fresh flowers, which were a wonderful gift. With 4 kids ranging from 3 to 14 years old, there was something for all to enjoy, from the basement setup to the backyard. In terms of location, there were sidewalks for walks around the beautiful neighborhood, attractions like Pike's Peak and Garden of the Gods only about 15 minutes away, and a large assortment of restaurants just a few minutes away. All in all a wonderful experience.

This house was perfect for a large group of us attending a family reunion. We were amazed at how well-stocked the place was and all the thoughtful touches that were included. The host, Beth, provided fresh flowers, fruit, plentiful snacks, eggs and bacon, oj, milk, yogurt, coffee, chocolates! There were serving dishes and scissors and tape and ziploc bags and plenty of extra pillows and towels, games and books and comfortable chairs - you name it, the house had it. All my communications with Beth were a pleasure! Highly recommend!
One small FYI - it's an older house, so light sleepers might want to pack earplugs to guard against the creaky floorboards if you've got people moving around at night. The house also had two small fans that a couple of us used effectively for white noise.

This property in located in the Old Town area of Colorado Springs. It’s convenient to many attractions of the area, and we really enjoyed the neat architecture of the homes, as we walked around the neighborhood. We’ve stayed at many VRBO properties over the years, and this is one of the best for how well it’s stocked. It’s a very comfortable place, and one feels right at home during the stay.

Our family has stayed in many rental homes, but this is one of the best ever. If you’re lucky enough to get a reservation, I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

This house really does have it all. The house is centrally located to all the local attractions - Manitou Springs, Garden of the Gods, Pike's Peak, etc. It is also located in a beautiful, historic neighborhood with close proximity to a park for kids/hiking.
In addition, the house comes fully stocked with all the essentials (extra paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, soap, etc.) in addition to all the cooking needs (spices, oils, leftover storage, etc). The owner also supplies snacks, fruit, milk, eggs, flour, sugar, etc. to help get your stay started so you don't have to run to the grocery store on your first day.
The younger kids in our group loved playing in the backyard and with the toys in the basement.
The owner was always available for quick communication via text if there was a question or concern. I would definitely recommend this rental to others.

We booked last minute to stay for an event happening and the Colorado Springs area, to say we were blown away by this property is an understatement. Craftsman style home, situated on a lovely tree-lined street close to down town. Beth the owner went out of her way to make us feel like we were at home. Extremely clean, kitchen was stocked with groceries I have never seen in a rental unit, nice toiletry options in the bathrooms and great little touches throughout the home. I could see this as a great place to spend a vacation with a decent sized family, easy access to all that Colorado has to offer in a comfortable and clean home. Definitely would stay here again.

Whoever is reading this, book this place. Lots of room and great historic place. Beth was easy to work with and provided all info we needed for our stay. Checkout sheet was short and quick. Great neighborhood and close to many tourist places. Shopping less than a mile and medical center even closer(thankfully we didn’t need it). Five stars for the Sumac Inn.

We had a great experience renting this house. Plenty of room for lots of family. Downstairs basement was perfect for our teens. Front porch was the best! Wonderful, walkable neighborhood and about 20 minutes to the academy. Owner left snacks, fruit and items in the fridge for us to use. This was so nice and appreciated.

Absolutely beautiful home with plenty of space, stocked with everything we needed, and extra goodies! Wonderful for kids — many special kid spaces and toys! Yard was perfect for dogs.

It was the little things that all added up. The home was in presentation mode when we arrived. Spotless, decorated and completely lit up. The kitchen was stocked with essentials (eggs, bacon, bread, butter ALL the spices etc...), a very rare find. Although we didn't use much of them, we didn't have to BUY any! The beds were all comfy, and had REAL pillows. This place definitely exceeded my expectations and has set the bar for all our future stays!!

Owner goes way above and beyond in welcoming renters- it was a “wow” experience for us. Food, lighting, music; we rented for almost 2 weeks over Christmas and the seasonal décor alone was impressive. Refrigerator stocked for breakfast, fruit, etc.
Home is in excellent condition, well maintained and it feels like owner is quite literally welcoming you into her much-loved home. Things work, the kitchen is super well equipped (far beyond any rental kitchen in my experience, and I have seen a lot of rental kitchens). If you have a couple of families with children this home is ideal==> two bedrooms for two sets of parents, and multiple children-capable beds in the basement, the main floor and on the second. Lovely master bedroom upstairs— if anything, the photos do not do the home justice. My husband enjoyed working in the mornings in the office of the living/family room- bright, lots of windows, well equipped. We loved it. If we come back, which is likely, we will try to rent this home again. Thanks so much.

This is the second time my family has enjoyed this beautiful home. Beth is a wonderful host and we would definitely rent this home again.

We came in for our son’s wedding and family vacation. We normally vacation in houses that have a country setting with a view, but this time we tried something different and stayed in a house downtown. I wasn’t sure we’d like it but we loved it!!! So convenient to everything we wanted to do! Our daughter and son in law found some scooters to rent a couple blocks away and took them to breakfast one morning. Even though it’s close to many things, it doesn’t feel like “city” when in the neighborhood. The street is fairly quiet with lots of trees.
We spent many hours sitting on the front porch together, while the kids played with sidewalk chalk in the driveway. Our grandsons loved playing in the basement, too. There were 5 adults and 4 small kids in our group, and we all had our own spaces to spread out and have privacy when needed, but had fun playing group games in the huge living room when my sister and brother in law, and the newlyweds came over for game nights.
Beth is an amazing and accommodating host. We lacked nothing. In fact, we went grocery shopping upon arrival and when we came back to the house to drop groceries off, we then realized she had done some shopping for us already, so we didn’t even need to go out for a couple of days if we didn’t want to. She is extremely thoughtful of her guests’ needs, and definitely wins the prize for outstanding hosts!
If I had to give the house one negative, it would be the creaky floors. And the only reason I even say that is because if you have little kids, like we did, sometimes they creak enough to wake up a light sleeper, if someone is walking around. Having said that, it’s the nature of an older home, and the experience as a whole was well worth it. We would definitely stay here again if we come to the area again.

We had 3 adults and 7 children ranging from 4 to 16. The first response we all had when walking in was this is beautiful. We had the perfect space for all who were there. Everything was so close, from restaurants, to parks, zip lining, caves, bowling, and Manitou Springs. The teens even spent a few hours at the YMCA. We enjoyed the snacks and the well stocked kitchen. Having 3 bathrooms was so convenient. We had a great stay, thank you so much.

We had a great three days in this house for my sons graduation from CC. We were all adults but clearly this is a house that is well equipped for kids. The kitchen has everything you could want or need and Elizabeth was so kind to leave some snacks and basics so we were not starving when we got in late. The beds are comfy - we all slept so well. The living room is big and comfortable so we had some great quality hang time there. Would definitely stay here again. Elizabeth is quick on communication and easy to deal with. We had no problems or hiccups at all but I imagine if you did she would be quick to respond/help.

We arrived late to our VRBO but were pleasantly surprised to be greeted with the warm glow of all the lights on this beautiful home. The house was decorated so nice, and we just loved everything about this old home, even the creaky stairs. There were so many extra touches like fresh fruit, breakfast essentials and lots of little treats in a welcome basket. There was so much room for our family to gather to visit and play games. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed. Beth was quick to respond to any question or requests we had. We would highly recommend this place and definitely will return on our next visit.

We booked well in advanced with Beth. She was very easy to communicate with. Everything went smoothly, the home was well equipped for any situation. We had some small children with us and were worried that Santa might pass them by since they were not home for Christmas. Beth had a small tree with ornaments for us to decorate with. This thoughtful act was a beautiful touch that made our stay wonderful. The Craftsman house and Beth running it are a winning combination.

This was our 2nd visit at the Sumac Inn. There were 6 adults and 3 kids in our group along with our four legged family members.
When we arrived there was Christmas music playing, fresh flowers on the kitchen table & baskets of goodies. This home has everything you need! The kitchen is fully stocked & we enjoyed cooking several meals.
There was plenty of room for all to spread out. The kids loved the basement room filled with games and toys and a sitting area with TV.
. While we were here, we were pleasantly surprised with snow!! We enjoyed driving around the neighborhood and seeing all the beautiful homes covered in snow. The Sumac Inn is located close to so many attractions & is in the Old North End, which is such a charming area. I can’t say enough about how happy we all were with our stay! Beth goes above and beyond for her guests. Our family will be back!

The home on Fontanero is impressive and comfortable. Beth went above and beyond in preparing the place for our stay. You will not be disappointed in staying at this wonderful property.

From the moment I walked in I teared up because the place was more wonderful than the online pictures can convey. The furnishings were in excellent condition and SO comfortable and inviting. Almost every morning we would find ourselves one by one gathering in the little sunroom off the front porch with an excellent cup of coffee, and just talk and laugh the morning away. Beth has excellent taste in artwork which is on every wall and shelf. So many wonderful, thoughtful touches throughout the house! She has thought of everything you may need and it shows her heart in wanting your stay to be the best it could be. The kitchen - was incredibly well equipped and even stocked, so if you love to cook like me, you will thoroughly enjoy it. But even if you don’t want to cook, there are so many wonderful restaurants nearby! The house is in the historic district and is such a beautiful neighborhood of large old houses that are in such pristine condition. If you have kids, this would be a dream place for them too with so many things for them to explore and enjoy at the house. This time it was just me, my husband and mother-in-law, but I could see us booking it again with much more family hopefully in the future. One big reason we chose this property was because I was looking for a comfortable place with minimal steps that had a great bedroom on the main floor for my 87 year old mother-in-law who also walks with a cane. She felt so good and safe getting around here, and we are so grateful for the memories made here. She used to be a painter too so she really enjoyed the artwork. Thank you so much for your attention to details which did not go unnoticed.

The house was beautiful, and had plenty of room to spread out. It fit the description perfectly. We liked being so close to the downtown area with so many fun restaurants and shops!

Our 'extended' family of 10 (and a couple of dogs) were beyond delighted with our stay at this beautiful home. Don't let the 'craftsman' design fool you--this is a very spacious home that 'lives large', with plenty of gathering spaces for napping, small group conversations, football watching and family dining. Each floor has its own full bath, the kitchen was incredibly well stocked, including fresh items in the refrigerator, the backyard was well fenced and perfect for our pups to run around in, the location was terrific--easy to get to the 'highlights' around Colorado Springs PLUS the neighborhood was wonderful for our dog walks and we couldn't wait to go out and explore a different direction each day. Beth gave us restaurant recommendations that were spot on! We would definitely stay again! Beth was a wonderful host, super responsive to our every question and request!

Excellent location in Old North End neighborhood. Perfect for exploring Pikes Peak, excellent restaurants & bars, and working out in the nearby Monument Valley park. The house was very clean, inviting (with snacks provided!), and very comfortable to stay in.

Really fun house in a great location. Beth has thought of everything, literally. I was most grateful for the window AC. Globally warming is with us. Also we were slow to get the internet connected and cable tv was limited. We had teenagers with us! Great location on a quiet street with beautiful home!!

This was our second summer to spend several weeks at the Sumac. We loved it as much as the first time. Beth is an incredible host and the house is large, comfortable, and completely stocked with wonderful amenities. And the location is perfect. Central to everything, yet in a quiet neighborhood. We would love to stay at the Sumac again.
