Relaxing and enjoyable

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I arrived late at Treetops. Brenda phoned local food outlets but all the kitchens were closed, except for Brenda's one.

Being late for dinner but Brenda's was very kind. I should make an important note here, it is not usual for Brenda to share her dinner, but she was kind enough to help out a person in need.

Superb

Do yourself a favor and spend a night or two on the beautiful Otago Peninsula instead of driving back to Dunedin. Treetops is a lovely place to stay. Clean, comfortable, and more spacious than it looks in the pictures. Just strolling in the neighborhood, listening to birdsong and looking at the views, will relax you. It's a quick walk or drive into Portobello for lunch or dinner, and Brenda keeps you well fed for breakfast (on your own schedule, which we really appreciated). Plus, you're close to the albatross viewing, sea lions on occasion, Larnach Castle, and lots of beautiful beaches and hikes (we liked walking on Allans Beach and the Sandymount trail).

The road up to the house is pretty steep, but we soon got used to it.

Perfect b&b

Lovely big room with views over the tree tops and water beyond. Brenda thought of everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Lovely comfortable king sized bed. We loved having the kitchenette to prepare our own simple food. Comfortable outdoor furniture to sit and soak up the views. Super convenient location to the beaches for penguin, seal, sea lion and Albatross watching.

Fantastic base for viewing penguins and albatross!

This B&B is very nice and has beautiful views. It's the perfect place to stay if viewing penguins at the tip of the peninsula until after dark, so nice to be only 15 minutes away. The hosts are very nice and caring people. The room is separated very nicely from the rest of the home, no noise issues or privacy concerns.

Though the queen bed was quite comfortable, my 6'1" husband really needs a king size bed.

Everything was fab. Only thing that would have been the icing on the cake for me would have been a piece of fresh fruit for breakfast like a banana.

5 minutes stroll to restaurant, pub and small grocery store. nice touches like coffee beans to grind for plunger coffee. comfortable bed with good linen

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Treetops and on the Otago Peninsula.

Excellent breakfast. Enjoyable view from big window. Private, even though it was a b & b. Great base for exploring the Otago Peninsula, with world class wildlife experiences.

No closet to hang up clothes. Driveway to parking space narrow and frankly hazardous. Great care required.

Best stay by far! Hope we can stay again when we return.

Had a fabulous stay. Best in a very long time. Cozy, comfortable and clean. View spectacular. Host very friendly and super helpful. Breakfast was lovely and well presented. We had everything we could possibly need and more.

A perfect hideaway in a beautiful part of the country

Beautiful location with great view from the window. The place was warm - loved the warm floor in the morning! - and there was great care and attention to every detail and there wasn’t anything not to like about the accommodation. Lots of helpful information too.

The one thing I didn’t like is not something the hosts can do anything about I.e. the access. I’m not a good car reverser and had difficulty manoeuvring especially at night.

Fabulous views.

Fabulous views. Great location for Larnach Castle and the Albatross Centre.

This is not the location to be in if you want to be central Dunedin. The roadworks made our journey a lot longer than it would normally be.
