Monty was a great host and made us feel most welcome. Room was comfortable and breakfast was lovely.

Excellent breakast
Very uncomfortable bed. Poor mattress.

The staff were incredibly polite and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the room a good size. Nice and quiet with easy access.
The food options for vegetarians was limited

The pub is very friendly and welcoming, the rooms are absolutely spotless and have a great selection of teas/coffee and fresh milk available on request.

really nice staff and food and comfortable bed
parking was tight, but I’m happy for the pub because it was busy.

Food is excellent - Michelin star quality and very good front of house staff - managers and team in the restaurant.
4.5
Very nice bedroom and bathroom. Well appointed.
breakfast was only available between 8-9 am. this is a very small window and very early to get up on a Sunday! we would re visit but not unless breakfast was extended to at least 10:30

Bit cold In breakfast room. Radiator off.
It would have been nice to have a selection of starters... Like fruit efc
There was no instant coffee or milk in the room! Only nespresso machine. They seemingly do not keep Instant coffee or Decaff swatches or long life milk, this is a first for us.... Very. Disappointing especially in the morning.

Nice staff, clean room
Food promised more than it delivered - expensive and fairly average. Breakfast not great - bizarre to charge extra for a cappuccino…

The taster menu for Valentines evening was exceptional.

Food was amazing..nice inn, comfortable room with nice ceiling, nice shower, friendly staff and good temperature.
Road noise and can hear conversations from other rooms easily, no where to work in the room (e.g. table)

great location, nice pub and friendly staff. the room was modern, clean and comfortable. the food was also very good.
the room was small particularly for the money charged. unable to reserve a table to eat in the Resturant or Bar. we did have dogs so appreciated we may not be able to eat in the Resturant but as paying guests would have hoped to reserve a table to eat in the bar. extra charge for dogs (£20 each) was expensive considering there were no benefit for this charge ie the room didn’t have much room around the bed for suitcases and/or dogs beds.

Dinner and breakfast were both fantastic. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The bathroom was compact but well designed, with a good shower. Comfortable bed. Lovely decor. Tea and coffee in the room. All rooms are on the ground floor. Dog friendly rooms and the bar area is dog friendly. Free parking.
We could hear people in the room next door slightly - although it wasn't loud, I would bring earplugs next time just in case. There was a small supplement payable for staying with our dog - fine with us but we weren't informed about it until checking out.

Everything! Great food, cosy bar area with open fire. Room was delightful and warm and the shower was top notch!

Excellent location to stay while visiting Chichester Festival Theatre. Good pre-theatre evening meal - staff friendly and helpful with pre-ordering food so no long wait for food. Did have to eat in bar area as had dog with us and hit a "locals bar get together" but everyone friendly. Room comfortable and away from road so no traffic noise.
Although we had chosen an allocated time for breakfast, our table hadn't been prepared and we were ushered into the bar area [ as we had a dog but had informed the staff the previous evening when we booked our breakfast time ] and a place was made for us after removing upturned bar stools on the bench seat. All the other bar stools were left upturned on the seats beside us which wasn't "welcoming" We didn't like this so I removed all the upturned bar stools and put them by the bar area. This shouldn't have been necessary if the breakfast staff had been more aware. Rather spoilt what was otherwise an excellent stay.

Fabulous breakfast and lots of lovely touches to our stay.
There was no Harvey’s beer as suggested on the website. Vegetarian meals were very limited and no simple lunchtime food available.
