Filthy, rude and unhelpful hosts and problems all over the place - do not stay there!

The bed was comfortable and the location is central.

It started with the check-in: we had to wait about 30mins and the coffee we shall have during the waiting time actually was not free at all. The room was very small and clean on the surface but filthy in the detail: the watercooker had a really bad smell and lots of water in it, super dusty underneath the bed etc. The shared toilet facilities were not cleaned "continously", litter on the ground was still there the next day. The provided shampoo/shower gel was just a fake, they have been always empty. The sink in the room leaked heavily, the water spoiled and released way too much water on one press. Some of the personal was ok but most were rude and did not wanted to help in any way. They even told us lies like the locker room is full or there are no rooms available but on booking they were listed as available. The washing machine was very dirty and the clothes washed in it got a bad smell from the machine. The window in the room was non functional, you could not proper open it and we had to put something in between to keep it open. It was very noisy, noise from the bar underneath and from people on the street.

Room was quiet, room and bathroom was kept clean. There was enough space to move around and baggage could be locked up securely

Providing passport/ ID when booking the stay on the website is not clearly indicated. This caused stress when arriving at the premises without the documents. Bank card was not accepted as sufficient evidence.

We booked through a different site and didn’t book through the st.Christopher inn website . But the various ads advertised doesn’t really inform you that you cannot avail the free breakfast if booked through a third party website . It could have been more clearer or the ad advertised only on the hostel website and not on every site . It’s misleading as such . Kitchen facilities could have been better . No drop of water to drink in the kitchen . Say , a person is thirsty,they cannot go to the shop to buy a bottle of water in the middle of the night. That’s all . Thank you.

Very good hostel, gets the basics right (sleep, wash, recharge batteries... and use wifi!)

Very convenient location, wifi and comfy beds. The dorm was really warm (20 degrees Celsius) which was much appreciated considering the temperature outside was sometimes negative. The staff were also very friendly.

There was a group of at least half a dozen Indian people (about half men, half women) who stayed for 1 night. They had booked beds in a mixed gender dorm, so tried to have sex inside the dorm. It's not the first time I've seen this happen in a hostel, unfortunately. They also spent the whole evening at the hostel (in the dorm and in the chill out room) and were really noisy. I really don't understand why people travel to Bath to stay inside a hostel. It's full of pubs, bars, nightclubs, fast food joints, money can't have been an issue, especially for a group, and they didn't look very shy.

Good place to catch up on your sleep.

Convenient location, right near the library and the bus station and several supermarkets, staff lovely and helpful.

Some of the guests can be a little noisy (phone calls inside the dorms!) but it's still much more quiet than many hostels I've stayed at in the past, as you don't get groups.

My stay at st Christopher inn was memorable

I loved the safety and comfort of the room.

The kitchen facilities in top floor could have been better. There wasn’t any water to drink . If there was a toaster upstairs, we could have made bread ourselves.

Recommended for short stays :)

The location is excellent :) The rooms are clean!

At the beginning, it seems that the staff was on a rush due to the New Year’s Eve… so, they were helpful but in an unfriendly manner!

Reliable, no bad surprises.

I've stayed here a couple of times now. The staff (reception, housekeeping) are helpful and friendly and the showers and toilets are cleaned several times a day. There is free wifi and large lockers under the beds (you need to bring your own padlock). Some showers don't have hot water, you just need to change cubicle to get hot water. It's difficult not to get your clothes and towels wet though, so I bought a waterproof bag. The dorms are warm and dry, and although it can be noisy outside, that is easily sorted out with earplugs and ear defenders. There is a small chilling out room on the last floor of the building, with a TV, a small fridge, a microwave and a kettle. The other guests are usually quiet and respectful though some of them will make Skype phone calls in the dorms or leave (forget?) dirty underwear in the bathroom.

The 'chill out' room could do with more lighting: it is really dark after sundown. It would be great if the showers had curtains, or some kind of partition so that your stuff doesn't get wet.

Good hostel

The room was really cool, I liked it, plus the view from the window was really something. Center of the city, close proximity to sights, railway station. Has a chillout zone for stayers. Good price.

Common hostel problem, facilities. Some stayers don't bother to clean their own mess, and once the bathrooms are shared, it can become a problem for you.

Am staying here second time. Am so happy with their service. Really fantastic events in restaurant and staff are so friendly service and really caring about our taste and needs in food. Rooms are very clean and tidy. Bathroom are very clean compare to the other hostels in bath. Free breakfast is so good which is worth for our Room rates. The chill out room are good and TV and we can enjoy our time here. Total I feel like am in my home. BCS the their service make me feel that. Thanks allot for all staffs.

This option should not be here for st christopher hostel.
