A home away from home

I absolutely love the ACK Guest House. The staff in every department there are wonderful, and they made it feel like a home away from home. Each day when I returned, often from a long day of work, they always welcomed me in such a way that I felt that I was coming home to friends. They were also thoroughly professional and provided excellent service. On several occasions, staff went above and beyond to help me with difficulties that I had, even when those difficulties were unrelated to the guest house itself. They want to ensure that their guests have a safe and happy and pleasant stay, not just at the ACK but also in Kenya. So even if you do find that you are unhappy with anything there, just talk to the staff. They are super kind and helpful. The guest house itself is comfortable and nice. IT's not the Ritz, but nor are you paying for the Ritz! Comfortable, safe, pleasant, and good value. One minor challenge was that there are not a whole lot of restaurants within easy walking distance (though there is one - a grill just a couple of minutes walk but I don't know about its food and prices because I never ate there), but I enjoyed the ACK in-house restaurant so much that I was more than happy to dine-in. That said, heaps of restaurants etc. are only a short, cheap uber (or a reaaaallllly cheap moto-taxi) away (when the traffic is clear). Getting anywhere when the traffic is bad can take a long time, but that's Nairobi. The area around the hotel is safe and quiet, but talk to reception before you decide to walk anywhere beyond the immediate surrounds, and they will help you to know where and when is safe for walking. The laundry service is also excellent. I really miss the ACK guest house, and really look forward to hopefully returning.

Nothing. The very few things that I felt could have been better were sorted out promptly, kindly, helpfully and professionally by the awesome staff.

this was an amazing value for staying in Nairobi.

staff was very friendly. appreciated the security. rooms were clean. generous breakfast included.

we needed fans for our rooms, as they were very hot. was able to get a fan after the first night.

Had to leave early to shower. Found a luxury apartment for the same price.

The staff are wonderful

There was no cold water which meant the showers were too hot to use. As well, the food selection at lunches was one entire item.

Very bad

I didn't like anything. Very dirty hotel, everywhere was very dirty. There was no internet. I don't advise anyone. Don't stay in this hotel.

I arranged this trip for my two adult sons. They need to go to Nairobi a few more times before the year ends.Looks like they have no intention of staying anywhere else!

No fridge in the room. It would have been a problem if my other son or I was with them as we are both insulin dependent. In this case it was not a deal-breaker.

Kind staff, facilities need fixing.

The check-in staff was kind and helpful, helping me get an adaptor when I found out I couldn't charge my mobile phone because my type A charger couldn't fit into the type G sockets in Kenya.

Bedroom & facilities are sad and rundown.

Second stay to be honest, enjoyed it as much as the first. Forgot to take photos though

Professional staff, Serene environment My friend came to meet me for tea and she was so impressed she wished you guys had a swimming pool she would be swimming in. She will probably be back for the juice, tea, snacks and quiet 😅

The breakfast was good and served on time. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The ACK is a nice, clean, roomy space in a good location, but lacks good food and wifi.

The location was good and the room was big with good lighting. The place was clean and it was very nice to have the option to charge meals to the room.

The food was not good, and only had instant coffee. My shower leaked quite a bit every time I used it, meaning I had a wet floor for the day after. The wifi was not very strong or stable.
