I've been at this cottage 3 years in a row and are already booked for next year. I love this place so much that I'll change next year's reservations to extend the stay. Truly dreaded leaving today.

This was the epitomy of summer in Maine. Although not right on the water, you can see it from the deck and you can walk to it in just a couple of minutes. The area is charming and a good home base to explore surrounding areas like Boothbay Harbor and Rockland. I would definitely stay here again!

The River View house/ cabin is spacious and has many nice features. When we arrived the inside of the cabin was very clean but the two older bedrooms with the twin beds and especially the bunk bed room smelled musty. Even with opening all the windows that didn't go away especially in the bunk room. The sheets were clean but wonder if the bedding/quilts had been washed in a while?? Same with the master bedroom bedding.
The wrap around porch had not been swept at all. It is a great space but I had to wipe down all the furniture and sweep everything. It is a great space and should have been part of the cleaning process. (I didn't sweep the side deck.)
The wifi does not work. The instruction's seem old and the network does not come up even when you put it in. The most frustrating thing is that the communication with rental agency is basically nonexistent...it is through Vacassa a rental agency not an owner and was although they said they would get their "local people" on the wifi no one reached out even when I spoke with the Vacassa a number of times. I should have known when I first asked a couple questions right after renting it. We had a great grandmother and a toddler with us so I asked f there were fans in the house and access to beach chairs. I never got a response. (When I got there I found there plenty of fans, but had brought a bulky one with m as I never got and answer, but it looked like beach equipment was locked up in the shed.

This property is quintessentially Maine. Beautifully maintained, great South Bristol location. Spacious and loaded with charm. It is evident that the owners are proud to share their cottage and family history. Books line the shelves and everywhere you look there is Maine inspired Knick knack.

Cabin was roomy and beautiful. Would be nice if the living room had more heat than the fire place. Very difficult to get to river. The town is very freindly Kneads has great scones and lobster is delicious

We loved our stay in South Bristol. It was perfect, even for our 91 year old parents!!

The most fabulous cottage I've ever stayed in. I feel privileged and blessed!!

This property is the quintessential Maine cottage. It had more than enough space for the 3 of us, and the kitchen was very well equipped. The deck was a perfect place for coffee in the morning, or dinner in the evening. And the family history of the place, in both words and photographs, was fascinating.
We are brokenhearted that it won't be available next summer because it is being sold. Maybe the new owners will put it back in the rental market!

Lovely home in a lovely spot!
We had a great time at the sweet, clean home. The kitchen is very well stocked, we cooked several nights. We spent our days walking around town and exploring the surrounding peninsulas. It was a fantastic family vacation and we loved the house!
I didn’t notice that the listing didn’t mention a washer and dryer. We definitely needed one but the laundromat was pretty close and inexpensive!

This cabin was just as described and pictured. Our traveling party was five adults and there was plenty of room to space out and find a place to read or chill. One person had to work remotely and the desk area and porch were perfect for this. The internet service was very good. The living area was spacious and furnished comfortably and the kitchen was well equipped even though small. The beds were comfortable, the showers were great and the entire cabin clean and well-maintained.Since the weather was overcast and cool most of the time, we did some day trips to Boothbay, Wiscasset, and Bar Harbor to see the sites. Mainly we just relaxed in the evening with a warm fire while trying to complete an impossible puzzle. Visiting Maine to escape reality for a week was exactly what we needed.

Classic Maine Experience
This cabin was a great spot for my small group of friends looking for a classic, relaxing Maine getaway. It was super clean, well-stocked, with views of the water below. We biked, ran, walked, and hiked in the area and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again! Brought us right back to our childhood camp days :)

Great stay
We had a lovely couple of days at this home. It was spacious and interesting, clean and in a good location although a short drive to any attractions. There were lots of fun decorations and pieces of history in the house which created a lovely ambiance but were not particularly kid friendly.

Lovely visit to Maine in a charming cabin
For my oldest son’s graduation from high school we had plans to go away on a cruise. Unfortunately 2020 being the year of the Covid Pandemic those plans were nixed. With our kids itching to get away and do at least something as a family, my wife and I selected a visit to the beautiful state of Maine. No one in our family had ever been there before, though we’d heard great things about Maine from friends of ours. So we decided to look for an affordable, yet charming, place to stay. We figured since we are going to be surrounded by forests, let’s seek out a cabin-style abode for the week. We hit the jackpot. The kids fought over who would get to share the bunkbed. Our two youngest boys won that battle. Being close enough to the Damariscotta River that we could see it through the trees bordering our home, we chose to keep the place fresh and airy at night. The library had some classic choices for us to read. The separate master bedroom and bathroom were just enough of a romantic getaway to make us feel guilty as parents. Well my wife felt more guilty than I did. Lol. Anyways, this home in South Bristol is within driving distance of several beaches, lighthouses, and is only a couple hours away from Stephen King’s home in Bangor. Of course you simply have to spend at least one day at Arcadia National Park too.
