This place was perfect for our group with private space for four couples, and ample gathering space for all during our stay. Location easily accessible to downtown MPLS. Host was very responsive and proactively communicated specifics regarding our stay.
Would recommend, and am saving this listing for future stays in MPLS.

We had a great time at this place!

Interesting property. Poor lighting and dark. Shower pressure in main bath weak. Would have appreciated a little more info about activities. Kitchen well equipped. Good book selection.

We had a great stay at the Brownstone. The property was a good value for our large party of 10. Plenty of room, towels, bathrooms and all of the necessary and expected accommodations were provided. A few things to note. Some of the electrical work is lacking and potentially dangerous (one of our guests is an electrician). The house was not particularly clean. Lots of cobwebs, and the floors are very dirty (evidenced by the bottoms of our socks after the stay). Like another guest mentioned, I was also concerned that the bedding is not being washed after each stay. Pressure in the shower of the master bath was very bad, luckily the water is quite soft, so that helped. We would also have loved to read a history of the house. It is quite charming, and with additional restoration, would be an absolute gem. Those things aside, our party was overall pleased with the house. Thank you, Greg.

The property had great character and the owner was super accommodating and thoughtful. We really enjoyed our stay here and made many memories for us to laugh about together for years to come

This house was perfect for our 10 adults, for a couples and two adult grandsons. The spacious kitchen was well equipped for our needs, and we were delighted to be able to seat 14 people around the dining table. The boys enjoyed foosball, and all of us enjoyed singing carols around the piano! The house was well located and we enjoyed a long walk along the Mississippi and good food in the area.

This property is amazing. The layout is a little wonky because the house has been divided into two units, but it retains all the original character. My siblings and I stayed here for a family reunion and all five of us had our own bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen and great room were perfect for just hanging out. Greg is a great host, very accommodating and communicative.

There were eight adults and we all appreciated the house's nooks, crannies and design. Comfortable living room, roomy dining room and efficient kitchen. Plenty of bathrooms. Overall pleasant stay.

A number of us from the MCAD class of 1980 all came together for a week at this beautiful home. It exceeded our expectations; it was beautiful and spacious with lots of room to relax, recall, and share waffle breakfasts.
The bedrooms were huge and each had a bathroom.
Centrally located to MCAD, the Minneapolis Art Institute, the Walker, and downtown.
Beautiful quiet neighborhood. Historic home that was perfect for our visit together.

I found this mansion two years ago and wanted to stay here with my Study Group for our annual deep dive business meeting. Then Covid delayed the dream for 2 long years.
The house is a perfect example of the wood casings, wainscoting, hand carved staircase and ceiling luscious deep square molding.
The many marble fireplaces mantles and surrounds are a delight.
The host has added fun art and makes the best of the space that isnāt fully renovated but still delightful. One could sink a million dollars into a mansion like this and still not achieve the same outcome as the original glory.
The childrenās games and foosball table has me thinking about bringing my 8 grandchildren for a week of Minneapolis exploration some summer.
This mansion is worth a designated trip just to experience the joy of magnificent handcrafted woodworking and marble. I felt like my elegant Granny would come walking in any minute and give her hearty approval of my choice of this place.
Greg is a fantastic host and responded kindly and helpfully with local guidance for provisions. You cannot go wrong with this pick, such a grand lady!

Stayed here with some friends for NYE and we were all wowed. The house is gorgeous and so spacious. Everyone had their own space and felt so at home. If we ever find ourselves in the area again we will definitely stay here again. The host was so accommodating and sweet, 100% recommend this property.

This grand (and somewhat quirky) old mansion was a fun central hub for our out-of-town family Christmas. Gregory even provided a huge, glorious Cedar Christmas tree! Much appreciated!!
We arrived during a winter storm warning and brutal cold. The driveway, sidewalk and stairs were already shoveled for us. Check-in was seamless. Beds were comfy, linens soft, bathrooms and kitchen were well stocked. (We cooked & baked a lot!)
We were disappointed when told we should not use the fireplace in the great room. (A reason for renting this house in December!)
And when we inquired about using the kitchen fireplace, we got no response. Even though this marvelous old house has many fireplaces, sadly, none were used.
Somewhat minor, a second trash container on the driveway would be advised. This is a large house that accommodates a lot of people! With the trash bin half full when we arrived, it didnāt take long for it to overflow.
Check-out ārequirementsā were practically none. Would love to be able to rent in warm weather and use the outdoor amenities.
We would rent this VRBO again.

We rented this property for a team building retreat. The uniqueness of the property really enhanced the creative process during our stay. We needed a space with 7 individual beds. This home had that and more with amply bathrooms as well. Close to fun restaurants and all Minneapolis has to offer. Looking forward to our next stay!

We were a group of 10 in town for a wedding. House was fabulous for folks to gather. Kitchen was well-equipped. Several in the group are woodworkers so the house has extra special charm for them. Walkable to many places. Gregory was quickly responsive when we had several questions. Watch the video to plan out sleeping/bathroom arrangements.

Your brownstone mansion provides a welcoming and interesting setting. We appreciated the host providing the history of the home, as well as detailed instructions on parking and access. Thanks for providing a wonderful space for our industry event!

This home has TONS of character! Lots of bedrooms/bathrooms, games, VERY well equipped kitchen. Perfect location to walk to a Vikings Game. Street parking for the most part, but it was never an issue. Would have been nice to have 1 main floor bathroom, but it wasn't an issue for us. Wide open living spaces meant there was room for all 9 of us to gather

MULTIPLE BATS in the house, each on BOTH nights of our stay. We chalked the first night to an āact of natureā as the host proclaimed and took care of the issue ourselves too spooked to think about documenting it, but when it happened the SECOND night I messaged him immediately and with picture and video evidence (as he does not provide his number or contact information other than on vrbo). Gregory was rude in issuing our refund as he degraded me and my guests stating that it was our fault the bats where there and called it a ā2 hour inconvenienceā and therefor didnāt warrant a refund. On top of the dangerous diseases they carry, his ability to not take responsibility for this shows the true nature of the host. Before you book this VRBO, just be aware of Gregory's perspective when it comes to dealing with bats during your stay: As long as it doesn't take too much time to capture and eradicate them compared to the amount of time you're there, it's not a big deal.

A Unique House
We were a family group ( grandparents, three adult children, one daughter in law, and three year old granddaughter) who went to Minneapolis for a long weekend to watch the White Sox play the Twins. First of all, the house is ideally located , close to everything, but on a quiet street. It is an old house ( about 1903) with interesting architecture, on three levels. No central air, but window units in every room, so the house stayed cool on a very hot weekend. It is also, to the delight of our granddaughter, filled with games, stuffed animals, a foosball game, and many books, including childrenās books. The house definitely has vintage charm, with some updating in the kitchen and baths. We did wonder why there was a bath and a half on the third floor, and no half bath on the ground level, but we got our exercise with the stairs. Our only issue was that although we were given very specific written instructions, we still had trouble unlocking and locking the front door. Our group included the family dog, and we met some friendly neighbors walking her. One has to be able to climb stairs, and the house has some age related idiosyncrasies, but we found it pleasant, interesting, and convenient and would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful Historic Home Close to Downtown
We had a wonderful week staying at this historic and beautiful home. There was tons of room and we had everything we needed. We had to stay close to the convention center (5 min drive) so this was perfect. There were a lot of places to eat and grocery shop within about a 7 minute drive. We came to town for a big sports tournament my kids were competing in and it made a huge difference to have a comfortable place to stay and be well-rested (and yes they did incredible so maybe the house is also lucky). Mall of America (Nickelodeon Universe amusement park) and the airport are just 15 minutes away and my kids of course wanted to go as often as possible! Haha! Thanks for a wonderful time!

Wonderful home
What a beautiful home. We understand that rehabbing the property is on going but that did not take away from it. The entire group was amazed at how nice the home was. Thank you for sharing!!

Eclectic home with lots of space
Five of us stayed here while attending a meeting at the convention center. It was a nice walking distance. The home is very spacious and there is plenty of natural light in the bedrooms. Host was great, even supplying a muffin tin upon request for a special meal we wanted to make. Kitchen is well stocked with pots / pans / utensils.

Great house for a big group! Loved hanging out on the front porch.

good but strange
This house has a lot to offer, cool house, beautiful downstairs, bathroom in every bed room, good location, well supplied - but it has some oddities; no towel bars in bathrooms, no Toilet paper dispensers in the bathrooms (except 1) , lack of closets, lack of dressers, still being finished/worked on in some areas. Overall we all had a good time, I would stay here again

Grand, beautiful and artsy decor
This Brownstone Mansion is such a beautiful place with both a majestic/grand feel and a artsy flair. Kitchen was very well supplied with a great appliances and pots and pans that made cooking easy and enjoyable. The location is great as there are many fun places within walking distance including shopping at the Wedge, getting ice cream at Sebastian Joes, and exploring the sculpture garden. I would highly recommend staying here and the host was very helpful when we had questions.

Stunning old Minneapolis house!
Wow this place is really something - the house is *enormous* and provided more than enough space for our group of 12 friends, with plenty of bathrooms, a well-equipped kitchen for cooking group meals, and a very cozy large living room/library for board games. The house itself is unlike any place I've ever stayed - it's so beautiful and old, has so much character, with cozy little nooks and crannies and decks with breathtaking views of the city. The location itself can't be beat - it's walking distance to bars and grocery stores on Lyndale, super convenient to the rest of the Twin Cities. All that being said, the house has some quirks (which makes sense considering it's age) -- for example, when we were there, the boiler for the heat was broken (which Gregory did warn us about the day before we checked in) which was mostly fine because Gregory provided space heaters, but the last night was pretty chilly. Gregory was super responsive (and also flexible with our check-in/check-out which was great!) so that helped. I'd just definitely want folks to know how quirky the house is before booking - it's an experience!

Great place to stay for a football game
This is a beautiful old house with an amazing amount of character. My family flew in from all over the country for a football game. We were able to hang out all evening and visit in a very comfortable place. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. Would highly recommend

Great place for a big group.
This property was perfect for our family traveling from out of state for a family wedding. There was plenty of room for our group of 10 without feeling crowded. We especially loved the table on the large front porch as the weather was beautiful and we spent all our time there. We have already talked about staying again!
