Position - it was quiet and private.
Facilities were good.
Tracey was a real star in sorting out our possession left behind.
Previous tenants had obviously used the fireplace (naturally😁) but there was a very strong smell of smoke. We aired it for a few days until it improved.
Minor detail that you might like to consider - sharp corner to the bed! Ouch, walking past a few times.

Tucked away and surrounded in birdsong. Was safe and secure with plenty of Firewood.

A truly relaxing hideaway, set in a tranquil location just outside of Akaroa township. Loved the feeling of being remote while remaining close to everything. This charming cosy cottage was just what we needed for our weekend getaway!

Extremely clean! Warm and cozy! Located in a very private and quiet place. Provides everything you needed. We will come back and stay longer.

Romantic and secluded getaway for couples close to Christchurch. The owner has carefully and thoughtfully thought of everything you may need. Very close to akaroa for brunch. Luxury+++
We loved everything about this place.

It was quite a walk through firest to town. In dark not pleasant

Lovely and cozy with fire. Great hidden away location.
Why have a coffee percolator supplied but no ground coffee for it?
The bed needs replacing- had terrible roll together- most uncomfortable and was not a good sleep at all. Spoilt our stay to be honest. Couch was also warn out - had hardly any stuffing in seats- needs replacing. Overall a bit disappointed for price paid.

Wonderful little cottage so close to Akaroa, we had a lovely three nights. A 15 min walk down to the town was perfect and another couple of minutes to the beach. The cottage was great and had everything we needed for our couple days. Highly recommend this cottage it's a perfect base for exploring Akaroa!

The perfect getaway from the city...walkable to The Rhino Walk, which was on our list to do...
firewood was ready for the fire...for the cool night and created ambience...it was intimate and cosy....and easy to walk to the township... and saw a bell bird!

Exceptional isn't a high enough rating for this accommodation. Tucked away, close to Akaroa but so private, nothing to interrupt the peace but bell bird song . So relaxing and enjoyable.

The location was perfect and stunning. We enjoyed the birdsong and gardens so much. It was fairly private, and we felt tucked up into the hillside. Walking in, the place looks very stylish and well-appointed. I loved being so close to Children's Beach, it's a beautiful place.
The bed was soft and saggy in the middle. The sofa was also no longer supportive, but I didn't mind that. Also, I wasn't able to plug in my phone, (/alarm clock) by the bed. In this world, it's a very good touch to consider where, by the bed, on both sides, to leave an unused plug so guests can charge their phone at night from bed.

Nice quiet location.

Loved the Hideaway, great location and loved sitting by the fire.

Directions to the property were clear and easy to follow. The Hideaway was beautifully presented and very private. Very easy 2 minute drive to Akaroa.
I can't think of anything.

very cosy and private little place was nice.
easy fix but the wood logs were damp or just not the right kind of wood to use for the fireplace we wanted to have going at night.

It was such a nice clean and tidy place. Secluded in amongst the trees and bush.
Handy to have a fire - as when we arrived by motorbike it had been a really cold day to travel. Sadly - the power was out across the district. Our kind hosts advised us of this happening as soon as she was aware of the power outage.
There was plenty of nice dry firewood - and it didn't take long to warm the place up.
The only issue was the flakey wifi - but this was definitley not a show stopper.

Nice warm little cottage, with everything we needed for 2 nights.
Lamp next to bed, nearest window, bulb blown.
Would have liked extra towel for hair. Even if just in cupboard in case needed.

Host was excellent Lynn made sure we got to the prperty okay. Cottage a hidden gem, a nice romantic getaway. Location peaceful and handy walking distance to Akaroa. FIre was a nice treat and the cottage was warm and cosy.
Shared Laundry on site be made available as staying for a week. Maybe due to COVID restrictions had been put in place hence the reason not able to use. Otherwise made do.

Very well organised and such a beautiful location.
A lot of time and effort has gone into creating this truly remarkable cottage.
We didn't like having to leave after just 2 nights.
We should have booked for a longer period.

Cottage was great, private and sunny. Bed was probably a little soft for us, but that’s a personal view and most guests probably like it. Kitchen was very well equipped, for us personally a small dining table[perhaps under window by kitchen]would have been good. Everything worked well and was of a good quality, quirky and great to stay in. Would certainly stay again and we enjoyed the walking track into the village
Thought quality of toilet paper was at the bottom end of scale ,whereas rest of amenities were good quality.
