Clean but only just OK

The place was clean but the room lacked anything apart from a bed. The cupboards were full of clothes and the duvet very thin. There were no towels. The bathroom was small and cramped and the sink had cleaning equipment all over it. The shower tray had a taped and glued repair in the floor, and I didn't use it. Nonetheless since I was there for only 2 nights I slept OK.

The bathroom needs to be cleared of clutter. The room should be provided with towels and have a better duvet.

i was not happy and do not recommend it to someone else

the location was good

they forgot to put the key for me, but they solved that, then it was very cold in the room and i could not sleep, i wanted to drink tea but i could not find the boiler, it was old apartment but they rebuild it but not very good, I could not find the internet password but in the morning they show me it.

Nothing, attendant were soo rude. No flexibility of time. Even she didn't allow us extra time to wait for our taxi.

Room was smelly. No personal washroom. Location and view was also too bad. It's better to stay on road.

Not at all what I imagined or as advertised. wonderful landlord though

there was a place for me to sleep.

so here’s the rub. I don’t think this kind of property should be on booking.com this is advertised as a guest house, but really this is a room in a person’s house. this is an Airbnb or couchsurf at best. taking nothing away from the hostess who is one of the most lovely people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting, but this is basically unreviewable. for context, I paid a similar amount for a hotel room in Northampton which despite being noisy provided me with my own bathroom, kettle and tea making facilities and felt like a proper hotel despite its faults. I paid nearly £50 for one night here and the bed was old and squeaky, the door to my room had trouble closing and the whole place smelled like fresh paint. the room was also next to the front door and I was awoken several times by comings and goings. I understand that the landlord has to make a living somehow but for what this property actually is, I felt a little deceived. please don’t think of this as a reflection of the generosity and hospitality of the landlord which was wonderful, they are merely taking advantage of a lack of vetting as far as booking.com go. sadly though for anyone looking for a hotel room on here I would strongly advise against booking a stay here at hotel room prices. I’m sorry

If you are looking for a luxury room then try 5 star hotels. I was looking for a room where it would be quiet, warm and not smell bad, and I found all this ... I was well received and on time.

The furniture and others in the room are not in good condition (but are clean)...

This is not a hotel, this is a terrace house with bedrooms, thick carpets up a norrow staircase shoes to be left at the bottom, looks like someone has been fly tipping in the living room, the shared toilet seat was broken and comming off, hard to lift without breaking it more, the shower look like something of star wars, no idea how to use it, when I arrived I was shown into my room no way of making a cup of tea, that I was told, wasnt inform of the key code to get into the main door, which wouldn't have made any difference as I couldn't get out of the door anyway, I wanted out of the place an hour after arriving had I been able to open the door I would have been, what was the breakfast like , no idea I just wanted out of there,

It was an over all pleasant place If only the stalker landlady would have left me to it

I felt like the land lady was rude and abrupt in her approach when I would come in and out of the property I was sent txts telling me about house rules etc so chose to book alternative accommodation half way in to first day

The place is nice and neat. Martha is a very nice and easy going person. I really enjoyed my stay at Balfour St
