Good feel and the cats.

Honestly at first, I was a bit taken aback that there is no staff on site and that it was more of a house/Airbnb type than a hotel. However, it turned out to be AMAZING. I made this purchase DAY OF because of a very stressful last minute change to my trip, and this place was just what I needed to unwind and relax. Everything was super clean, and safe, and the facilities were just wonderful. I also talked with the cleaning lady the next day and she was super sweet. There were mango trees dropping fruit on the property, and all in all it was just magical. Free protected parking and everything. I felt completely safe there. There’s also a grocery store like a 5 min walk away if you want to go pick things up to cook (as well as many eateries).
The only thing is the pool was a bit heavily chlorinated… but that’s fine as long as it’s clean! Very small and negligible issue.

Amazing rooms, facilities are well-thought of.
The entire place looks amazing, tropical-ish.
Location is wonderful.

The location was excellent. I had Câmara de Lobos within easy reach and everything it has to offer was just a few steps away. What I liked most was the design of the accommodation and the fact that it was quiet and peaceful.
Far from the beach and far from Funchal. So, if you plan to stay here and go to Funchal without a rental car, I would not recommend it. There was also a small problem with security when entering the property. There is no sidewalk and cars go quite fast here considering that it is in a residential area. But if you are more careful, you should be fine.

Perfect location, only 1 street from the center of Camara de Lobos. Super clean stay! Very pretty pool and property! Loved the studio with kitchen, with view at the pool and the ocean! Felt very private.
Also the owners were very reachable through the Booking site.
Recommended!
There was no cleaning included during the stay (or cleaning materials) or fresh towels (only the ones from the beginning of the stay).

The grounds are as superlative as everyone suggests. It was so carefully thought out, the garden experience. I didn't see any gardens as pretty as this - there's a real slight of hand at work there. My daughter was picking fruit by the pool, I was getting out of the lovely (quiet in winter) pool and washing it for her and resuming swimming it was so lovely. The room was very spacious and I couldn't believe the cleanliness standard in the communal areas. People seemed to really honour how tidily the shared kitchen had been left for them. We had some days of not seeing anyone at the guesthouse - however, when there were others everyone was polite and it felt pleasant. My girl of six had a dreamy time in the grounds, it was so wonderful, although at that age I think I set myself a little bit of challenge for how we should present, so bear in mind it's a bit of a social training exercise, there is a formal aspect like a hotel - but there is not one fault any of us could mention. I also didn't feel any envy on the break that we could have found a better place to stay. We also washed and dried our clothes half way through week - this was really helpful - detergent was there to use etc. Finally, it's a well maintained beautiful house - one of the very nicest to look up we saw on the island, and wonderfully my daughter thought it was the house from Encanto and she had a point about the facade - so that is a wow factor if you arrive weary from a flight. (It was kind they accommodated an early self check-in by about four hours - really helped - off season though granted.)

The highest standards of hospitality! Exceptional!
The place should be a benchmark for all hospitality service providers. Not only in Madeira.
This is not yet another property with cheap stuff from Ikea. Rooms are spacious with lots of direct outdoor lights. Entire place is safe, quite and private. With beautifull garden and clean pool. Very convenient indoor garage.
The kitchen is fully equiped with everything needed + you are given storage splace if needed. Large common areas for dinning, reading, or enjoying the garden. Check-in and check-out is fully self-service. The communication is clear and easy.
In general, everything is very well thought to a small details. This makes your stay exceptional at this house.
Thank you!

Lovely hotel with modern big rooms. Very clean. Kitchen and living spaces which were very handy. The property has fruit growing all around for guests to enjoy which was an added bonus. Location was good, fishing village with plenty of restaurants 5 minutes walk away. Parking garage was very helpful. We really enjoyed out stay.
Not a criticism but a suggestion. Could do with a long mirror somewhere so you can check your outfit before leaving the hotel.

large rooms, exceptionally clean. Nice kitchen facilities with everything you need.
Nothing really. I was just annoyed with myself that I got bit whilst sitting next to the pool. I haven’t been bit elsewhere in Madeira, must have just been bad luck. I had a nice swim too.

Gorgeous house, grounds, pool, room. Thoughtful design in every facet of the house, both aesthetically and structurally. Comfortable, sunny and bright, private, and just wonderful. We hope to stay again.

We couldn’t get the air conditioning to work so instructions would have been useful. It didn’t spoil our stay though and we didn’t worry about it too much.

was a beautiful room, villa. location was great… furnished beautifully.
air con did not work,,, which meant having opening windows and shutters. the location is right on a bend and the road noise is fairly extreme from very early until very late. also because shutters were open you couldn’t shut out the lights from outside.

Filipa and Isabel were very helpful. Filipa gave me a guided tour of the garden which was lovely. Home grown bananas were provided every day and herbs in the garden could be used for cooking.
Traffic noise was a bit of a problem if windows were open but double glazed windows kept noise out when shut. There is no air conditioning but they do say that on their website

If understood the village and accommodation was for us perfect after disappointment of stay in Funchal.
Madeira is a contradiction lots of hard work for so so return.

Beautifully renovated home in a good location, with a lovely pool shared with only a few others. Shared kitchen is small but well stocked. Very good value accommodation.

the house is stunning, amazingly located in such a lovely fishing village. superbly set up with kitchen facilities and great private parking
wasn’t the most personal stay. didn’t meet anyone or have any contact. check in and check out through coded doors. can also be seen as convenient and was extremely easy and well worked out, but just not that personal.

Very nice building with lovely garden
Super noisy due to location on 2 main roads as well as bad isolation from the inside (yes, its an old building and yes this will also depend on co-residents). There is no staff, so no one to give recommendations or anything :(

Great location and view. Lovely setting with the fruit trees and swimming pool. Very clear instructions for check in and all the small details were perfect. Very very impressed.
Only room for improvement would be a long handled brush to sweep floor and a full length mirror but that is being very picky. Everything else was excellent.
