About this cottage rental
Welcome to our clean and comfortable air conditioned standalone cottage set in a quiet treed tropical garden on 7 acres of land. Situated 5.2 klms from Cannonvale central and 11 klms from Airlie Beach. We are Pet friendly and allow the pets to sleep inside, so bring their favourite bed. Wildlife is abundant around the property - wake up to the sound of singing bird life and peaceful surroundings. The cottage offers a king size bed, bathroom with outside unique private shower and outside cooking and kitchen facilities on the front verandah. (Smoking is allowed in outside areas). Huge amount of parking available if you bring your boat/jetski or if you just need a break from your caravan!

We had a lovely relaxing week at Curlew Cottage with our dog. All the little extra touches in the cottage and the snacks in the fridge made it special. Kitchen is really functional, outdoor shower was wonderful even on a cool morning and the bed was so comfy. The mozzies were annoying our first day but everything was provided to deal with them, so not a problem in the end. Only downside was the lack of internet but I think they’re fixing that. It didn’t bother us as we had other options. Thanks to Rhonda and Peter for their hospitality.

A charming rainforest setting a 10-15 min drive from Airlie Beach set side and secluded from our hosts' residence. Designed for a couple, a single room with comfortable queen bed, private outdoor shower and well equipped cooking facilities. The fridge contained generous treats on arrival and our hosts were wonderful, helpful people. We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 day stay and would love to return in future.

From the moment we arrived we were welcomed & shown around the cottage by our lovely host Rhonda
Every thought has gone into making your stay comfortable. There were even some lovely welcome treats in the fridge which we thoroughly enjoyed especially the icecreams - yummy
We loved the outside shower
We had our dog with us who had a great time as plenty of room to run for a ball & explore the bush. She was allowed inside the cottage as well so she was happy

No hassles, peaceful and relaxing. Quaint little cottage in quiet location with everything we needed. The outdoor shower was fun and refreshing. Spoilt with treats on arrival. Hosts checked on us when the power went out one evening otherwise they left us in peace to do our own thing. We had a kangaroo visit most mornings and evenings, wild but came close enough for us to enjoy watching it. A very pleasant say with lovely hosts. We will be back.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted by Rhonda who goes out of her way to make sure you have everything you need. It was so quiet and peaceful yet sill close to all that Airlie Beach and surrounding areas have to offer. It was great that we could have our dog with us and they accept your fur babies. The host went above and beyond with welcoming us on the first night. Some highlights were margaritas, fresh eggs, mangoes and lychees. The cottage had everything you need for cooking. Our large dog had no problems staying there. Nice and relaxing with a rainforest vibe. Highly recommend.

Stay at Curlew Cottage
This is a wonderful place to stay. Quiet to recharge and relax. So nice to wake up in the morning to sounds of nature - a variety of bird calls to welcome the day. The cottage was well equipped and the host provided a lovely welcome pack of nibbles etc. Rhonda is the perfect host. Can highly recommend a stay here.

Fabulous little B & B
The property is extremely well presented and located close to the owners home but surrounded by large rain forest growth. This layout makes one feel that they are in the middle of a jungle with wonderful nature sounds coming from every direction whilst being close enough for easy communication with the owner if required. The property is amazing with that which is supplied in the way of facilities, household needs, welcoming treats, car parking space and is located within easy reach of Airlie Beach. We required and wanted for nothing and can only recommend this little gem to everyone. The property owner is extremely accomodating and welcoming to ensure your stay is perfect. More than full marks and we will be back. Thank you Rhonda.

Lovely tranquil getaway
We had a wonderful relaxing time at Curlew Cottage. Rhonda was such an amazing host and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was one to remember! The location of the cottage is perfect. It’s close to town yet you feel like you’re miles away. The doggies had the best time exploring and checking out the chooks! The only feedback we have is for dog owners - there aren’t any fences around the property. Luckily Rhonda and Pete are animal lovers so we could keep them inside, but maybe you could possibly think about adding a fence just around the cottage area :)

Just what we needed!!

Rhonda is an amazing host and Curlew Cottage is a gorgeous place to unwind in the tranquil bush setting but be only minutes away from the action of Airlee Beach.

Home away from home!
This little cottage well and truly exceeded our expectations, its a comfortable distance from town and Pete and Rhonda took great care of us during our stay. Do not let the outdoor shower put you off, full privacy and gets you into the beachy holiday mood fast! We will be recommending this little cottage to many of our family and friends.
Thank you for making the Curlew Cottage available, so nice to be surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature and having very hospitable hosts not far away.

the retreat that can't be beat
I've stayed at places where a full continental breakfast, ended up being two slices of bread with a knob of complimentary butter.
When I messaged Rhonda that some delicious homemade dip was greedily eaten, she offered refills.
I've stayed at 'cosy' units, large & 'complete' enough for two bedrooms, laundry, the works - but always some glaring problem; one place with double glass entry doors had absolutely no covering, or privacy!
But as far as cosiness and privacy go; well when i rolled into the ground of Curlew Cottage, I had to come to complete stop, i couldn't see it at all, and needed to be directed to the hidden entrance of the private driveway and parking area, that only then reveals a part of the cottage.
I have to admit, though, when I saw the pictures of the outdoor bath and kitchen, I was a little sceptical, but as great as they looked in the pictures, they're a hundred times more awesome in person. And there's nothing 'outdoorsy' or 'utilitarian' about them, immediately on arrival and seeing them, i'm a little disappointed the luxuriousness and romance of the outdoor areas will be lost on my two dogs - who absolutely adored the grounds.
Being a nomad, I have my house in my car; so as loosely defined as self-contained cottage, or 'home away from home' taglines can be, that's OK with me; I can always unpack whatever I need from my wagon and supplement the place i'm renting; but i ended up unpacking so little, that I managed to leave an hour before plans to because of so little packing was needed on the way out, after five days there.
But getting away early is no indication of my time at Curlew Cottage, Rhonda and Steve have made a place they would call home, yours for a few days when you need it.

Excellent Accommodation
Our stay was most enjoyable. Would recommend to anymore wanting a peaceful and tranqil break. Accommodation was very comfortable with the facilities available in the property the best we have encountered with attention to the finer details impeccable. The outside shower and kitchen was a delightful added touch. Thank you Rhonda and Peter for making our stay very memorable.

Fabulous little cottage not far away from hustle and bustle of Airlie. Worth every cent.
Had a fabulous 8 day stay at Curlew Cottage. Owners went out of their way to make our stay really enjoyable whilst respecting privacy.
Fantastic little treats when we arrived. The cottage is nicely furnished with proper big comfy bed. The outdoor kitchen and shower are just great.
Airlie and Whitsunday Islands are not to be missed.

Gem amongst the trees!
Perfect cottage! My husband and I with our two doggies loved the stay at Curlew Cottage.
The hosts were so helpful and accommodating. Had enough parking for our vehicles too!

Amazing honeymoon-style suite in a private sub-tropical getaway
Situated on 7 acres, just outside Airlie Beach, this beautiful cabin is perfect for relaxing and rejuvenating.
We stayed for 14 nights while in the process of relocating. It is equipped with everything that you need - wifi, full kitchen, bbq, TV, washing facilities. The birds and wildlife in the mornings and evenings are amazing.
The owners are a lovely couple who also live on the property. They are respectful of privacy but are only ever an SMS away if you need anything. We are going to miss them!
- Would definitely stay again and we have already recommended it to friends and family :)
