4.1
The location was good and Leslie (housekeeper) was very helpful; she gave us lots of information about the area and some excellent recommendations.
The bed was not a double bed as advertised. It was 3/4 bed and was absolutely not suitable for two adults. We paid for a double room where the bed size specifically states 130cm-150cm bed and we did not get this. When we realised (after a restless sleep), we made the host aware and we were given an extra single room; this was not ideal as we had booked a holiday together and did not expect to be in totally different rooms. The pillows were hard and very heavy (in the event of a flood, they would make good sand bags), the quilt was too heavy for summer. There was only one plug and it was nowhere near the mirror so it was difficult to use a hairdryer/straighteners. The bathroom extractor from the room next door was really loud and when the person in the adjoining room used the bathroom during the night, it was very disturbing. The shower was weak and completely cut out during showering at times. Three of the rooms are in the loft and there were over 40 steps to reach them (very narrow and steep at the top) which made taking cases up very difficult. We felt misled by the good reviews for this hotel as many of the good reviews are actually for the sister hotel and therefore are not representative of the Sea Breeze hotel.

Cheap and proximity to buses and the Prom
Getting in - my phone wasn't working, there was an email exchange about time of arrival so was expecting someone to be there to let me in.
No details of how to access if nobody was there were sent.
I spent about 40 minutes knocking until a guest heard me. He very kindly rang the owner who told him my keys were in the key safe.
His friend then turned up and
It took 3 of us to attempt to get into it, the 2 guests said they'd had the same problem the day before.
2 keys - front door and room. I tried the front door key and it didn't work. Luckily one of the fellas gave me his key as his friend had one that worked ok.
If you're not on site you do really need to have better communication with guests and sort the key safe and keys out.
Not everyone has a mobile handy or working either.
Room was adequate for what I paid, breakfast was adequate, cereal, toast, fruit, etc. but it wasn't worth the stress of getting in especially as I had friends to meet not long after my arrival.

The staff were extremely friendly, knew me by name despite not meeting me - had a prior engagement that prevented me from checking in with someone but they made arrangements for me to collect my key via text

The continental breakfast was very good offering a good selection of food.
There was a communal iron & board available, I didn't need to use it, but nice that it was there.
The shower enclosure was a decent size and hot water whenever I used it.
The towel was of a decent quality and changed mid week.
The room & bathroom was serviced daily and kept clean.
The room was on the small size and awkward getting around the bed.
Would have been nice to have some shower gel / hair shampoo and a better quality soap bar.
A power socket on the wall next to the kettle would have been desirable.
4.1
Friendly welcome, continental breakfast adequate, for the price it was very reasonable.
Only staffed part time, although I never needed to seek any services, the bed left a lot to be desired, a new mattress required really.

The owner Dehlia and her Mum Dilly were delightful. Location very good. Near the sea front and close to town. Bus service excellent and there was a stop close by. Definitely worth buying a five day explorer ticket which allowed us to travel on the buses, the horse tram, the electric train and the steam train. Also our National trust cards got us free entry into the castles, museums etc.
The weather but we did have some sunshine most days.

Rooms very warm with unessessary bolster under pillows, duvet heavy for summer

Great location for Douglas, great value for money. The host Lesley was brilliant, a bit of a character for sure but really lovely and went beyond our expectations to look after us during our stay. She even made all of us a pack up breakfast/lunch at her own time and expense as we had to check out early in the morning. Free wifi throughout, clean comfy rooms and bathrooms.
The Internal doors were a bit noisy when being shut, although it wasn't really much of an issue, just the nature of a fire door i suppose.

Kind staff and superb attention. Ultra clean property and great location.
It’s exactly what I expected. Not a 5-star hotel, but a fantastic B&B.

Very cold bedroom and guest does not have control of the heating. I suffered.

Booking was changed to Trevelyan Hotel due to staff issues. The Position on the Queens Prom was excellent, opposite beach, nearby buses which were cheap and regular. The rooms were comfortable and clean, but a little dated in style, typical older type of seaside hotel. Full English breakfast was very good, and very popular. Our host, Delia, was amazingly hard working for her guests, and was cheerful and chatty with everyone, can't thank her enough. I had a very enjoyable holiday at the level of accommodation I booked, and was good VFM overall. The local Douglas golf club is excellent value and has a superb restaurant, just 10 minutes away by bus (£1.30.) From the airport get the bus, less than £3.00 to Douglas.
Sadly the lift wasn't working, difficult if you can't manage the stairs to the higher floors.

I was upgraded to a seafront guesthouse with a lovely seaview
There were a lot of stairs because a recent guest had overloaded the lift which was awaiting repair
