I chose this property to allow my family to experience traditional old style rural French living and I think this house is absolutely that so probably not for anyone wanting modern influence. The location gave quiet tranquility yet only minutes from the major route to all the places we wanted to visit so great location. The rooms were all a good size , clean and traditionally French in decoration and furniture - no mod cons here! The hosts were around if you cared to find them as they went about their home jobs and they offered good recommendations of places to visit and good restaurant choices. There were travellers here from all different nationalities so conversation at the breakfast table was most enjoyable.
As a family our French is limited (our fault) so I would say it would be useful to have a menu or note on the table to say what is available for breakfast. We did not know for example that hot chocolate was available on request and we would have chosen that if we’d have known.

We enjoyed a nice stay in the spacious and cosy front room of the castle with view of the pond. Hosts Denis and Tanya are very welcoming and helpful with anything you need. Breakfast was good with fresh eggs each morning. When sitting in the garden you'll maybe get company from the chickens, goat and dog named Tayou! A lovely experience and recommendable!

As soon as I arrived at the door, it was very quiet and there was no one around. Because it was an old house, it felt a little gloomy indoors. I was a little scared at first, always thinking about some movie scenes.
But after staying, I met a warm host, had a very good breakfast, and had a very quiet night, wonderful place and a unforgettable experience

Breakfast was ok
The castle has to be renovated, the room was cold, old bathroom, old furniture, many moschitos.

Everything was simply perfect! A beautiful château and garden with a pond.
The access from the "route nationale" was simple and fast, still the Château was surrounded by quiet landscape. Both the surroundings and the inside gave us a feeling of being in a really special place.
The rooms are clean and offer lots of space. The interior is kept mainly historic.
The Château provides a familiar atmosphere. We really enjoyed spending the evenings down in the pretty salon with some of the other guests. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. There was no question that was left unanswered, none of our needs remained unsatisfied. Special thanks again for the incredible dinner! The highlights for our little daughter were definitely "Masha" the cat and "Gertrude" the lovely sheep. They kept her busy all day. From Fresville everything on the Cotentin Peninsula was easy to access by car. Historic sites, beautiful beaches and landscape as well as seafood restaurants.
Perfect family time! Next time in Normandy will only be in Château des poteries.
To be honest in our opinion everything was perfect, lucky child, lucky we

Fantastic hosts who offered us drinks as well as a dinner service since there was a curfew in place. The only thing you need to know is that some bits could use a coat of paint or otherwise freshening up (particularly the bathroom). But for the price it was every bit worth the money ! Would definitely recommend
Just need the bathroom redone

Very nice hosts who give you a warm welcome and lots of travel tips, good breakfast (excellent croissants) at the joint breakfast table, very clean and impressive decor, very welcoming towards our baby, interesting dday sites nearby.
Kitchen equipment could be more elaborate for those that want to self-cater

Denis was an excellent host. He gave us lots of information about the surrounding areas, and we visited a few places we wouldn't have otherwise and were well worth a visit. His recommendations for restaurants were particularly good. He sat us down for a nice drink when we arrived and gave us an overview of the region. This is a quirky, slightly eccentric, charming place. If you want sterile, anonymous, and ordinary, don't stay here! No TVs in rooms, for instance. If you enjoy history, charm, and the unusual, this is your place. The rooms were big and tastefully decorated and the bathrooms were also sizeable. Decent breakfast, pet friendly, and we enjoyed the resident dog and sheep.
The room smelled a bit weird. We kept the window open, which helped. New mattresses! The Wifi was spotty. Bathrooms could use a bit of love (Grotting should be replaced as should the shower curtains. They're clean! But the mold and rust just looks a bit off-putting. Normal for older places, but still). Also, some soap or shower gel would have been welcome. A towel rack would be a nice addition. The light in the upstairs hallway needs to be fixed. We had to use the flashlight on our mobile phones to unlock our door. I loved the overgrown grounds, which added to the mystery and charm of the place. But clearing up some parts would be good - the cigarette butts in the water-filled stone basins in the front, dog poop bags from the side, old carpets on the ground around the back.
