The property is well maintained very clean and close to the town and park. It was a quiet area although we could hear traffic from the front double bedroom but it didn’t disturb us.
When we arrived we noticed we had no hot water or heating, we contacted the maintenance team and they sent someone over to fix this, after a while the hot water was working but during the whole time we were there we had NO HEATING it was so cold that weekend that we slept in our clothes and jumpers. I was called and told to leave the key in the lock box which I did for a plumber to come and remedy this problem but he didn’t go and repair it he just called me and told me that when we got back to the house he would talk me through it on how to fix it !! This didn’t happen even though I called him and left a message so we spent yet another night freezing cold ! Not good at all for this reason I’m reluctant to stay again especially if it was the height of the winter ! ☹️

Very convenient location within walking distance of everything you could need. Own parking space away from the road.
Very tired looking and needs a bit of TLC. The bathroom could do with a deep clean and some better flooring. The living room floor is so creaky and noisy and the dining chairs are really uncomfortable. The noise from the road was really bad and almost constant. Needs double glazing but that may not be allowed due to the age or style of the building. It’s a shame as it has potential to be a nice apartment.

The property is in an excellent location, central to Bury St Edmunds Town centre. Communications prior to arrival were good, with check-in details and information about the property. The apartment was clean, tidy and spacious, with an additional outside seating area. Great value for money considering the location, will definitely look to book this property again if heading to the area.

The drainage of the bathroom goes very slow.

not enough toilet roll!

The location was fantastic, right next to the abbey
The property is very close to a busy road and the windows aren’t double glazed. The kettle leaked badly and the shower head needs replacing. The two single beds are probably best for children.
Given the location and the help from the property it is great value and would book again.

Location, parking. The kitchen was a good size. Double bed very comfortable.
The decor was a little dated and tired . The bathroom could do with updating. If we had taken another couple the double bedroom would have been very tight to have luggage and personal items in. As it was only us two we could use the other bedroom to store our luggage and as a dressing room. The price for three nights seemed a little steep bearing in mind it would have gone up if we had another two guest.

Great location near the cathedral and town centre. Everything walkable .
Private off road parking
Easy arrival with lockbox
Lots of mugs, plates and cutlery so we only put the dishwasher on every other day.
Good fridge and freezer
Excellent wardrobe space
Hairdryer
Always lots of hot water, powerful shower
Little TLC in the apartment and very dated and scruffy in parts. Needs refurb. Maintenance, hygiene and Health and Safety should be a priority, and grubbiness in bathroom- especially sliding door frame and stained lino on floor. Shower head rusty. No soap dish in shower and rubber mat or hand grab rail is needed as shower floor slippery and dangerous, both of us had problems staying upright in shower and we are able bodied ! Does the owner ever visit personally to inspect the place for cleanliness & maintenance or check previous reviews where several issues have been mentioned some years back? Noisy bathroom fan was on 24/7 even when light turned off- needs electric repair. Also guests should not have to call a caretaker to change the thermostat temp for a short time. Bathroom was cold in mornings and the towel rack did not come on once during our stay, so soggy towels. Courtyard was dirty, we could not use as planned, it needed a weed and sweep -piles of leaves everywhere probably from last winter - and BBQ ( which we had not planned to use anyway) looked like it needed replacement after being out all winter . All the windows needed a thorough clean inside and out, some hard to open and close , very little paint on outside window frames- peeling paint and bare deteriorating wood showing. Either replace the windows or give them a proper paint job . Kitchen needs blinds on windows for privacy/warmth as overlooked and bathroom door is opposite the kitchen windows.
Outside entrance area untidy with weeds. Whole place seemed neglected and uncared for, very "student" like. Seems sadly, no money is being spent on the place , it could be a beautiful property .Three times during our stay we tried to make contact with caretaker James but not had any response to specific issues we encountered. My first really poor review in 30 years of self catering so please do not let out this property if it is not ready for guests or up to scratch.

Great central location next to Abbey Gardens with parking. It was cosy. Beautiful building.
Some of the furniture was a bit battered from use. Few windows could be opened.

Excellent location in town with parking. Like kitchen & outside space although no chairs out in Feb (was ok to sit out).
Double bed creaks and mattress & bedding could do with update. Can hear people in upstairs flat due to creaky floorboards. We could smell that dogs had been in lounge this time although everything looked clean.

Location superb. Layout of apartment was good and sufficient resources. Sofa wasn't as bad as other reviews had suggested.
The shower head is disgusting. We tried to clean it but it didn't really impact on it. The temperature of the water was also intermittent and not a joy to use. The freezer was so frozen over that you couldn't even open the trays; we spent over 2 hours defrosting this. We needed the freezer for our foods. The door to the freezer gets caught but we would have thought that this would have been regularly checked for any foods left and guests advised to make sure it was closing properly. Likewise the fridge froze any foods put towards the back; we had frozen limes, frozen fresh prawns and frozen cream. Hate wasted foods! The double bed is not comfortable and has only a thin bed protector on it. The bed squeaks every time you move even slightly. While we're on the subject of squeaks, while the apartment is cute in appearance the floors squeak all over the place. You can't move quietly even if you're trying. The telly signal was poor with many of the channels pixelating so badly we gave up trying to watch anything. One of the sofa's had an unpleasant stain on it. We're sure it could have been cleaned before new guests arrived. We'd read the reviews about the noise from traffic and realise that we were lucky in that we stayed during a quiet period so the road noise wasn't too bad. It would indeed be dreadful in the busier months. We looked for the bags to put our bedding into but there weren't any which then concerned us that Covid protocols were now out of the window. This is our 4th rental since May and the worse by far. We won't be using Booking.com again as the daily email from them was totally unnecessary. The lack of clarity or lack of response to telephone messages left with the host further confirms that we will avoid this property.

Lovely location lovely building.
Single beds could do with a mattress topper.
Bathroom due a refit. Shower head rusty and cubicle stained and grubby. Shame as the bathroom let's this lovely property down.
We were asked to put rubbish out but couldn't locate the bin, house next door couldn't either!
