It was in a great location. The room was lovely, as was the bar area. The included breakfast was fabulous and the staff could not have been more helpful.
Nothing!

Friendly staff, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast and room facilities. Dog friendly and very accommodating of all of our little requests!

The room was really nice, I stayed there about 20 years ago, still really nice but perhaps not new anymore, but still very nice.
Breakfast could have started earlier, I missed it as I had to leave before 8.00am.

Clean & comfortable stay
Good value for money
Good choice of beers
We really like the large covered outside area with the heaters which used to be the car park
Nothing really may have been nice to have parking on site but no problem to walk 10 minutes to a 24 hour car park that was reasonably priced and allowed you to buy a week’s stay for £9.

Breakfast was perfect, well cooked and presented. All the staff we met at the hotel were friendly and helpful. Walkable distance to city centre
Parking nearby was limited so we had to drop off bags and walk from the pay and display car park.

Great people and the beer is also good.

The room was lovely and had everything. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was fine but would have liked more choice for the Continental option.
The website said that if we stayed for three nights, we would be given a parking permit which influenced our choice. When we asked for this, when we arrived, we were told they couldn’t provide it as the council have not sent the permits so we are left with no parking facilities.

Our stay was perfect. We booked at the last minute but it was as if we had booked well before. There was nothing to moan about, the room was lovely, breakfast was as good as we've had anywhere and although parking could be a problem it wasn't on this occasion.
Nothing.....

Most tourists seem to prefer hotels with insular compartmented lifestyles. Not me. I like people and places where locals congregate. This is it. The patio is open after the restaurant closes and you can get a bottle of wine and cozy up out there with locals chatting into the night. Feels like the England of lore.
Uh, I live in America where we shout and take offense at everything. They don’t. If you’ve always wanted to visit Old England this is it. What did I not like? Having to leave.

A really lovely pub brewing a range of it’s own beers. The food is really good and the welcome second to none. It’s the second time we have stayed here and would recommend it for value and quality.
There’s nothing much not to like really - the bathroom was as big as the room and it was fab.

bed was a standard double not a large double ie king size as mentioned in the write up
