About this cabin rental
Twin Pines, recognized in the book “The Top 100 Most Beautiful Rustic Vacations” is located deep in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Off-the-grid, yet just 15 minutes from Colorado Springs urban life, Twin Pines is a charming, enchanting and historic log cabin.
Built in the 1890’s on the site of a stage coach rest stop on Old Stage Road, the cabin is an historical landmark on Cheyenne Mountain. Twin Pines is a fusion of 19th century simplicity with 21st century convenience. Step onto the flagstone deck and find yourself amid the sweet, refreshing aroma of towering pines, setting the stage for conversation and laughter while roasting marshmallows around the firepit. Or, step inside and enjoy the 3 bedroom, two bath, cozy living quarters that sleeps 5 comfortably and comes equipped with today’s technology; internet, cell phone service (via WiFi) and Smart TV. While compact, the galley kitchen has all the conveniences of home. In it you will find a full-size refrigerator, washer and dryer, range, dishwasher and garbage disposal.
Since this is an off the grid location in a water conservation area, you will be participating in cabin water management with the spring water system. Limit showers to 8-10 minutes. In addition, run the washer and or dishwasher in the evening after showers have been completed.
Over a century ago, the stagecoach rest stop was a respite for weary travelers and pleasure seekers. Today, Twin Pines continues to welcome visitors from around the world who seek seclusion and relaxation in the Rocky Mountains. We await your visit!

The cabin was absolutely gorgeous and perfect location. Close enough to everything Colorado Springs has to offer but feels like you’re in your own world up on the mountain. Cabin was clean and cozy. Had everything we needed to be comfortable and cook on the nights we wanted. Best Vrbo experience by a landslide!!! Steve was thoughtful, kind, and the absolute best host. A must for us to come back. We have wonderful memories from our stay.

My husband and I stayed with our two children. We absolutely loved this property. The kids loved all the unique decor. Every morning we hiked around the property and the kids climbed on all the big boulders. We enjoyed eating by the fire pit and the gorgeous Mountain View’s. All the amenities were available as well.
I should note that the drive up to the mountain is a little tricky, my husband is an excellent mountain driver and we had a truck, but something to consider if you aren’t comfortable with that!
But we would definitely come again!! Thanks

What a charming and wonderful cabin, secluded in the mountains and miles from anyone else. The nighttime quiet was outstanding. Our Family needed some unhurried time away in nature, yet it was only a short mountain drive to Colorado Springs.

This property was clean and well maintained. Very rustic and charming, peaceful and tranquil. Issue with hot water, but Steve took care of it as quickly as possible.

This place is magical. Words and pictures fail to describe it. We timed from cabin to pavement at 8 minutes so it’s quite close to civilization yet very isolated. Steve was a very thoughtful host.

Cabin was in a great location to all the sightseeing adventures around CSprings like Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Divide Wolf Rescue and Cheyenne Mountain Zoo to name a few. The cabin was rustic but upgraded so it had all the amenities. Plus, it was extra special knowing it was a historical landmark. It was secluded so perfect for a getaway. The drive up to the cabin was a little sporty but the views were absolutely beautiful so it was worth it. The host (Steve) was extremely helpful and responded immediately to any questions. Highly recommend!

A rustic but modern cabin in a pristine setting, Twin Pines was a short drive to town and adventure while being remote and secluded at the same time. We enjoyed our stay immensely and appreciated the communication and thoughtfulness of our hosts.

Great cabin. Very cozy and clean. Beds comfortable. Beautiful setting. Great hiking nearby. Enjoyed the fire pit on the front patio. Water conservation really not as issue if you follow Steve's instructions. Steve was also easy to communicate with, and provided good instructions. Would stay here again.

Beautiful cozy cabin nestled in a pine, spruce, and granite forest. As others have noted, the road up is an exciting 2 mile, 10 minute adventure! The cabin is minutes from the Broadmoor which is a special bonus. Steve was very helpful and responsive. This was one of our favorite stays!

Best vacation rental experience ever. Highly recommend this beautifully rustic, serene place. It's made more special by the effort required to navigate one's way up the mountain to reach it. The host puts forth much effort to insure his guests know what to expect during this mountain adventure.

Beautiful, remote location yet a close enough drive to town. Steve was an excellent host and extremely communicative and helpful.

Returned to this cabin after 22 years, and it is just as wonderful as it was then! The location is the best in Colorado! It is an adventure getting to and from the cabin and that is part of the charm.
Steve is extremely easy to work with. His cabin is incredibly clean , and has all the necessities. I placed an order at the grocery store and picked it up on way up mountain from the airport. We went on some daytime excursions, but honestly, I would've rather stayed right there the whole week!!! Thanks for sharing "your little piece of heaven"!!!

Everything was first class: comfy beds, plenty of linens, towels, dishes, kitchen appliances. Location perfect for daytime excursions to local sites. Netflix available on tv was a nice bonus. Owner (Steve) very helpful, even provided a video of road to cabin (be sure to watch, road is tricky!).

A big problem I have with a lot of cabins is that you are jammed next to a bunch of other cabins and people. Thats not an issue for this cabin, and you are free to enjoy Colorado with all the privacy you could want.
The cabin is very clean, and has any appliance you could need. The host was very helpful and extremely accommodating, and I truly have nothing but good things to say about the experience. If you enjoy your privacy and a cabin with a ton of charm and personality, this is a great choice.

The cabin was simply amazing! Everything we had hoped for and it exceeded our expectations. Steve went above and beyond to make sure everything was going as planned. I cannot speak highly enough about him. I have done quite a bit of traveling and have never had a host as kind and thoughtful as him. I would recommend this cabin to any and everyone. The cabin was beautiful, clean and looked just as it was listed. A vacation we will never forget!

This cabin was very cool. The walls had a lot of decorations that added to the outdoor experience, while the kitchen is equipped with all the modern amenities you'd need. The creek next to the cabin was nice to listen to in the the evenings.
The owner, Steve, is great at showing attentiveness towards guests without being overbearing.10/10 would rent again.

Though the drive up to the cabin can be a little nerve racking at first, it definitely is worth it. It's a beautiful cabin on a nice piece of property. Going on the bridge near the falls is quite relaxing. We saw deer, chipmunks, and so many different birds. I would recommend getting the extra video that shows where the McHale trail is. The location is so close to the zoo, Broadmoor, and so much hiking, my family loved it. And Steve was very good at checking in and making sure everything was going well. It was easily one of the best vacations we had as a family.

After seven months of Jim's cancer treatment, our time in your wonderful cabin in the woods has been medicine to our souls, and we will always cherish the memories we made here. Thank you, Steve for sharing this magical place with us.
For all of you considering this rental, the photos you are viewing are accurate, but no photo can capture the charm and cozy feel of this cabin, it's woody, fresh fragrance or the natural beauty of the grounds. Just go.

Remote but still close to all must sees. The property was meticulous and unbelievably decorated. Most important ,the mattresses were very comfortable. Lastly, Steve the owner was always easy to contact.

Everything about this cabin lived up to its description, from the moment you pull up and step inside! There is nothing better than to be surrounded by the pines in such a cozy well appointed cabin, and to know that you are staying in a place of Cheyenne history. Steve and Maritza take great pride in this property and it shows in its attention to details and the care they go to make you feel welcome. This was such a special place to stay! Thank you so much

We spent four nights in August at the cabin and had a great time. Everything was as described and communication with the owner was excellent. We definitely recommend this property if you're looking for a quiet cabin in the mountains.

Everything about this beautiful cabin and surroundings took us back to a simpler, more relaxing time in life. The decor was so thoughtful and symbolic, and the surrounding landscape, paths and bridges so well thought out, we could not have asked for a more perfect home base for the Monument Springs wedding we were there to attend.

We loved staying at this cabin. It offered the best of both worlds - away from the noise of the city but also close enough to take advantage of all the activities/sights around Colorado Springs. Steve was a great host and available for questions at all times. The cabin had all the amenities and was very clean and comfortable.
This was the ultimate “unplug” trip for our family. Our children (6 & 9yo) loved exploring the property grounds and the adults enjoyed early morning yoga on the bridge by the creek listening to the birds chirping. We also loved visiting the nearby zoo and feeding the elephants and giraffes, hiking the different trails of Cheyenne mountain, Garden of the Gods, zip-lining at and cave-exploring Cave of the Winds, and enjoying the shops and restaurants of downtown Colorado Springs, Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs. The best part of every day was driving up the mountain and retreating for the late afternoon and evening at the cabin and enjoying the surrounding quietness by the fire and all the wildlife (one bear, wild turkeys, lots of hummingbirds, baby and mama deer, chipmunks and bunnies). We can’t wait to come back!

This summer, my husband and I along with our 2 daughters (14 & 12) had the opportunity to spend 3 nights in Twin Pines cabin. It was truly magical! Even better than the photos. My husband most loved sitting by the fire on the patio listening to nature, watching the hummingbirds and the deer. For me, it was heavenly to wake up early and enjoy my book and a coffee in the cozy family room while the house was quiet. My daughters most loved the drive up the mountain to the cabin as well as the horseback riding stable about 2 miles up the mountain from the cabin. Steve was a wonderful host! Hopefully one day we can return for another stay!

We had a great time during our stay at Twin Pines! Steve was a great host and available to any questions (although he gave excellent tips before our stay). The cabin had all the amenities and supplies needed. Our morning coffee on the deck was just what we needed with the added bonus of watching a deer and her fawn walk through the property. Definitely a great place to stay!
