My husband, two adult children and their significant others had a great time here. The lake is fun for kayaks, canoes and paddle boards, but with all the vegetation, swimming is a challenge. But we saw green herons, bald eagles, kingfishers, frogs, fish and beavers -- who were happy to slap their tails at us when we got too close! Great property.

Our families (7 humans and one extremely happy Golden Retriever) enjoyed our stay on the water. We took full advantage of the many kayaks, canoe and paddle boards upon the calm and picturesque lake. When evening descended, we enjoyed a roaring fire and roasted marshmallows for smores. We also availed ourselves of the central location to explore nearby towns, including Great Barrington, and restaurants. It was a great weekend (and easy drive from NYC).

We loved the location of this house. It was very close to the wedding we were attending that weekend and to Great Barrington. The house was also uniquely situated- so that it was surrounded by water on 3 sides. The setting was lovely and we were able to use the kayaks Lisa made available with the property. Lisa was a great host - always available and immediately responsive to our questions. I would be happy to rent this house again when I am in the Berkshires.

Great spot! We even saw a bald eagle!
Our time there flew by. Can’t wait to return.

Our stay here was in late October. The foliage was so vibrant-gold, bronze and red.
The property is fully enclosed/secured by a handsome gate, with chain link fencing extending from the gate through the yard and into the pond.
The home and yard is tastefully decorated with fun and unique artwork.
Our two adult daughters and their three dogs joined us for a few days. Plenty of room to spread out or gather together for a game, puzzle, or watch TV. The two huge flat screen TVs were great. The glass pocket door between the two rooms allows for privacy or watching the second TV.
The dogs loved the large windows, and walks on the property and longer walks down the road. We saw the resident bald eagle most days. Its favorite spot to survey the area for food was in a tree just outside the windows. We also saw a blue heron gliding gracefully over the pond, looking for fish.
Lisa, the property owner, was super to work with. Always readily available to assist with anything. She ensured the two bathrooms were well stocked-plenty of towels and soaps. Fully stocked kitchen with pantry basics, coffee pot, k-cup brewer, toaster, blender and microwave. A glass cooktop and full size oven were handy to have, and there was plenty of cookware. We loved the well-lit bar area - it made the area more spacious. Washer & dryer were great to have. Groceries, restaurants and shops located nearby too.
We loved our vacation and hope to stay at this beautiful spot again!

I rented this house for the purpose of a weekend with the guys in my band. The owner was really accommodating about it and even made suggestions about how and where to move the furniture while we were playing music. The house is reasonably priced and in a beautiful location. Lisa, the owner, is very friendly and easy to work with and we had a great time!

Photos are accurate. It's a two bedroom, two bathroom house. It was only the three of us so we had plenty of room.
The highlight of this house is being able to canoe and kayak on Mill pond. Great views of the pond from many windows.
We brought our own bikes but there are many good bikes in the shed.

I just wanted to write a little note letting everyone know what a wonderful time we just had and what a fantastic way to recharge! The house was perfect and cozy, with everything we needed. The leaves were gorgeous! We saw the resident bald eagles, beaver, and great blue heron and and even caught some fish! Lisa, the owner gve great info before we got there and we really enjoyed the hikes she recommended!! A great vacation and can't wait to do it again next year!!

We stayed at this location for a long weekend in September, and it was perfect for our trip. The house has access to kayaking/canoeing on the lake, bikes, a fire pit, a kitchen with all of the needed implements, and has easy access to fun shopping, hiking, and restaurants. The lake is large enough to be scenic, to allow for kayaking, and to provide privacy, while either small enough or remote enough so that we never saw/heard motor boats or lake traffic.
The host is great. She has put a lot of thought into the amenities, and goes out of her way to make sure you know what the location has to offer, and is clearly concerned with the happiness of her guests. She even went the extra mile for us in tracking down an expensive item our daughter lost while there, and making sure it got back to us.
The only regret from one of our group is that he didn’t bring his dog (as he didn’t read the description carefully before coming), as the location appears perfect for canine visitors as well. That being said, there was no smell or obvious signs that dogs had been there in the past, which was great for the people who aren’t as fond of the presence of dogs,
Overall, wonderful stay and great experience!

It’s a beautiful and very well stocked house!! With kayaks, paddle boards, bikes everything is in the house. We enjoyed our weekend. Hot water needs some fixing. Otherwise awesome!!

There are pros and cons to this home. The Pros: it is secluded and I love the fenced in yard. It allowed me to let my dogs roam without worrying about them running away. Also some great hiking trails close by.
Cons: people really can’t swim, no easy water access despite 240 degrees of water and too much plant lode/ weeds in the water. It was a very hot week and since there is no air conditioning, we really couldn’t cool off and my dogs were hot. Also, the house is a little cramped/ cluttered in their attempt to accommodate 8 people. There were only 4 of us and 3 dogs and it was hard to move around and no storage/counter space.

Winter Getaway
Beautiful property with plenty of natural light. We enjoyed the views of the pond all day long. Just the right amount of private and common spaces for our family. Host was very helpful and anticipated all of our needs.

Perfect little get away!
We stayed at the Peninsula House for a long weekend. Lisa was a wonderful host. She was always available although we did not need her very much. When we had questions she was right there, warm and friendly and helpful. The house is surrounded by water on 3 sides and you can always see it out the windows. It was cold and rainy and still incredibly beautiful. The house is very clean, well maintained, artfully, and comfortably decorated. The kitchen was well appointed and everything was in good to excellent shape, plenty of dishes cups glasses, sharp knives etc... We would love to come back in warmer waether to use the canoe and pattle boards!

The property was as beautiful as the photos. Watching a heron every day while sitting by the fire was the stress relief we needed!

Wonderful stay at an amazing location!
We had an amazing week at Lisa’s peninsula in The Berkshires. She is a wonderful host who is there if you need her for anything at all. And the property is very well appointed and so cozy. I highly recommend it!

Great weekend stay at this lovely lakehouse!
We really enjoyed the property, the views, lake access and the coziness of the place! It was perfect for the two of us and our pup. More affordable if you have at least 4 people though! We would def stay again in summer with friends. Lots of kitchen appliances, pots, basic spices etc. House felt plenty warm when the temp dropped. Many cute restaurants and shops. and breweries within 5-10 minute drive. We wished we had another day or two to enjoy the place, it is very peaceful!

Amazing house and views
We rented the house for a birthday celebration and it was perfect. We had 7 girls and everyone was comfortable. So many windows to get a good breeze from. The weather was PERFECT. We never turned on the TV and were outside most of the time. Lisa was quick to respond when asking a question. Overall a great time and will definitely be renting again.

perfect getaway!
We were there for 7 days and only left the property once. There is so much on the property to entertain us and our pup! Fishing, kayaking, bird watching, lounging around, grilling, frog hunting... it was so peaceful and quiet. The lake is so clean and pristine. The house had everything we needed and then some. We will be back! Thank you Lisa!

The peninsula house is lovely, clean, private, and very dog friendly. The pond had tons of fish which my husband caught daily

Quiet Retreat
I came to this house looking for a silent retreat environment and found EXACTLY what I was looking for. The whole time I was in the house or kayaking I only heard 2 propeller planes! No cars, no people, just birds. But Big Y and some really great restaurants were a 10 minute drive from the house. I even saw a river otter, a great blue heron and a breeding pair of downy woodpeckers.
Lisa is a fabulous host and provided a Facetime tour of the house, which was so helpful. She was VERY responsive to questions and made me feel welcome to contact her again.
The house layout is so great, you can see the river from the entire bottom floor and most of the upper floor. It's warm and comfortable and decorated beautifully.
I was sad to leave early as my dog was sick, but I will look forwardto returning!

Great location
Even though we stayed here in late January in the middle of a cold snap, with howling wind at times across the water, we loved our stay. The house is full of windows and light and has some lovely touches. Not to mention a fireplace. And being on a peninsula with no nearby houses made it special. Whether you just want to drive back roads or find places to hike, the surrounding countryside is beautiful. And Lisa couldn't have been more helpful with suggestions for walks and places to find food in the middle of a pandemic.

Safe Getaway During Covid
My family was looking for a safe vacation in Massachusetts that had options for hiking and skiing so we focused on Western Mass. We discovered Lisa's house on the peninsula and were immediately intrigued -- between the proximity to ski resorts and the unique location on Mill Pond. Her home is beautifully decorated and is absolutely immaculate. It's like staying in a boutique hotel! Lisa is very accessible if anything comes up but we had no issues. It was so relaxing and we're looking forward to returning again in February!

Beautiful Peninsula in the Wood
Is a nice place well decorated with everything you need. I didn't like that we had to do some cleaning in the morning per owner and check out was too early.

Magnificent waterfront home
Location, location, location! This newly renovated home on a peninsula surrounded by water on three sides made for an amazing get away. The property is so special, the house is beautifully decorated and fully updated. The owner, Lisa, has it well stocked and was a pleasure to deal with. It’s easy to get around, or just stay and enjoy the view, we took out the canoe & saw the hills and leaves. Beautiful. We loved it and will be back, for sure!

Stunning home and property
This home and property are as gorgeous as the photos - a lovely home on a peninsula surrounded by Mill Pond on three sides - with huge windows all around. The home is very well equipped, including kayaks, a canoe, firepit and more. Mill Pond is a bit funky - filling up with some kind of weed that makes it impossible to swim - and can be a bit of a challenge for kayaking - but some great routes to the north. The location is great - just off a main road, convenient to stores and restaurants - but also to hikes and walks. We loved our time and look forward to returning.

Perfect getaway in a picturesque setting
My wife and I, and our dog, spent an amazing week to enjoy the fall foliage in the Berkshires. The house is beautifully designed with big windows all around providing amazing views of the lake. It's very comfortable with a very well stocked kitchen. I took one of the kayaks out to explore the lake and river, which was absolutely stunning. A pair of bald eagles, which has made the lake their home, hung out in a tree right at the edge of the lake as I was paddling back to the cottage. What a treat! Lisa, the owner, is very nice and accommodating. The house is located near a number of great state parks and hiking trails. It's a very quiet location, which allows you to completely let go and relax. Thank you for such a great vacation experience!

Beautiful House on a Lake
The house is beautiful and has everything you could want for a family getaway (fire pit, grill, kayaks, canoe, paddle board, etc.) or for relaxing (great view, hammock, tv's, internet, sonos, etc.). The one suggestion I would have is for the owner to write out all of the instructions and notes.

Unique & luxurious
Loved our 6 days, 2 of us, Melissa my college friend and I, the girls...Lisa’s house in the woods deep in Berkshires has nearly 40 windows. It does boast water views from 3 sides, and provides privacy & quiet with a Big Welcome to Dogs complete with fence! Very cool.
I fell asleep to nightnoise of frogs & owls, the 10:00 train every night..
With COVID, many shops & restaurants are closed. So we brought a weeks worth of food. Grocery is 10 minutes away. There’s a gourmet grocery called Guidos that has a huge cheese selection, so anything we needed from ice to scallions it was no big deal. There is an ice cream shop, a pot shop, and some stores in Great Barrington are open for shopping.
The pond has milfoil, a common problem with ponds less than 20 feet deep. So there was not swimming for dog or us. Swimming can be found in the awesome lakes & swimming holes (among best in region) within 30 minutes drive. The milfoil does not cover the entire lake; there are large clear spots with fish jumping, ducks feeding, otters and beavers building, kayakers & canoeists paddling. Lots of lily pads.
To have a waterfront setting from such a pretty home was great fun. We grilled most nights. Cooking is made easy with very well stocked kitchen. We had absolutely everything we needed for mad cooking. We went for walks (Lisa’s house is across the street from a huge farm), read for hours, slept in (you can hear faint swish of cars but this road is rarely traveled), & ate great food. There are 2 big screen TV’s in the 2 living rooms - we aren’t TV watchers so we never turned these on. We sat out on deck under moonlight talking & laughing into the evenings.
Lisa has allowed this vacation home to be affordable, where elsewhere this sort of setting is really pricey. She is totally aware of & actively working on improvements needed like more refrigeration/ freezer space. The kitchen is tight but there is a plan by owner to eventually expand this space. The deck is beautiful. This deck and the dock are in process of being replaced.
I’ve stayed at a lot of rental homes and the design of this house is so striking, made me feel like I was in a tree house for the week! Really relaxing.

Beautiful home & great location!
Lisa is a really thoughtful host - the house was very clean and wonderfully appointed/decorated. My kids had a great time fishing all around the peninsula and using the kayaks. My dog was thrilled too - with the fence and surrounding water he could roam the property freely - which was really helpful. Thanks again!
