A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Kigali

Fantastic hotel. Probably the best in Kigali. The hotel is an oasis of calm in the middle of the city. We were in Kigali for a conference and we looked forward to returning to the hotel every day to relax in the beautiful garden by the pool. All the rooms have a balcony overlooking the gardens. It's worth paying a small amount extra for the superior rooms which are really very nice. Breakfast is expensive for Kigali but the chef will make you your preferred style of eggs. One thing we particularly appreciated was the excellent communication before our arrival. As a large group, we had multiple changes in the number of rooms and set-ups required, but the manager and staff were very accommodating. The location is also great - in the centre of town and opposite the Hotel Les Milles Collines. We liked the hotel so much, we booked it again when we came back through Kigali.

Lovely facilities, central location, safe and secure and overall a great place to stay.

Location is central, but still quiet and peaceful. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Rooms are clean. Safe and secure. Breakfast is exactly what I need/want, others may consider basic, but for me was perfect.

Superverblijf in hartje Kigali

Gezellig kleinschalig hotel in het centrum van Kigali. Verzorgde kamers die dagelijks worden schoongemaakt gelegen rond een binnentuin met zwembad. Heerlijk vertoeven hier. Goed ontbijt dat extra moet betaald worden. Zeer vriendelijk en hulpvaardig personeel. Hier voel je je onmiddellijk thuis.

Rustige, aangename (maar toch wel dure) verblijfplaats in Kigali

Rustige, afgeschermde omgeving in het drukke Kigali met een (8-meter😉) zwembad. Prachtige tuin met schitterende bloemen! Mooie kamer.

Er is geen gelegenheid om ‘s middags of ‘s avonds ter plaatse iets te eten. En de keuken is na het ontbijt gesloten waardoor er ook geen mogelijkheid was om iets op te warmen in de microgolf 😓.

Perfect stay in a botique hotel

Such a beautiful hotel, with lovely staff and a nice garden setting. The room was really large and comfortable, with everything you need! Thank you for a wonderful stay

Excellent stay

The staff was extremely nice and always helpful! The room was big and clean. The garden is beautiful and the breakfast room is quite cosy. Furthermore, the hotel is located very close to the centre and there are plenty of good restaurants around.

I found the breakfast a little pricy.

Very cute place

It’s a very quiet and nice place. It is very close to the centre. There is a mall at about 5 min distance walk. Right inside the mall, you can pretty much find anything. Restaurants and cafe are inside and beside the mall too. You can also find ATM in the mall. if you want postal service it is on the opposite side of the street. Pretty much everything is pass by. The staffs are really nice.

Good rooms, pity about the overpriced breakfast

Our twin room was spacious and had a nice balcony leading onto the pretty garden and poolside. Good shower, wifi. Staff were helpful and courteous. From here you can easily walk to shops, the big hotels, cafes etc.

Contrary to the information on booking.com there was no kettle in the room and reception said they do not provide this. The breakfast is charged at a flat rate of $12 per person (not a range, as it says on the site and I'd been told by the property itself) which is very expensive for what was offered. I don't understand why breakfast is not included in the room rate. We went up the road and had a much better full breakfast for half the cost.

Comfortable familial hotel

Very nice homely hotel in the middle of Kigali. The owner was very kind and greeted us each morning. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful, and the balcony provided much relaxation after a day out. The pool was very refreshing and the garden well-maintained!

The bed cover was tucked in quite tightly and it was difficult to air the room without being cold in the morning. There was also a slight mistake in the number of nights we were billed for on late check-in at 10pm, that was quickly rectified when we pointed it out. Always good to double-check.

Awesome two nights in Kigali

Hotel staff extremely nice and helpful, and went all the way out to help solving problems, e.g. helping me to get out of the hotel when the road is closed due to CHOGM, sending money to my MTN mobile money account, exchange local currency at very reasonable rates, etc. My flight arrived in the very early morning, since my room is empty the night before, hotel manager Andre has kindly offered early check in for free. And I got a very nice view from my balcony! Very strong wifi connection.

the bathroom is a little bit dark and shower water could be a bit stronger. room is a bit dim, but I'm not studying or working there anyway, so it wasn't a problem at all.

Hotel Le Garni is a tropical, quiet oasis enclave away from the city - yet is centrally located with only a 5 minute walk to a supermarket, MTN, and several shops/cafes. The garden is beautiful and relaxing with a pool and landscaped flowers...such a nice retreat! I would highly recommend this small, individual owned hotel. Staff were always friendly and accommodating. I requested an iron for my room and it was quickly provided for the duration of my stay. Wifi is good.

The entrance is down a little path off the main road, so taxis had a difficult time finding it at times. Anything above and beyond the cost of the room itself is excluded - so breakfast is $12, and all of the beverages included in the mini fridge (including water) are charged. It would be great for the hotel to add some additional toiletries to the rooms, including hand soap for the bathroom.

A very enjoyable stay in Kigali, with all comfort, worth the expenses.

Le Garni is a place where you can feel like at home. We had the room 10, a suite, which provides large space and one does not need to jump over suitcases which happens once you book i.e. other hotels. The entire setting up with a garden full of flowers make the Garni a very attractive place to stay when in Kigali. the local touch can be noticed everywhere. no superficial "schnickschnacks" as seen in many other places. Have look at the furniture, doors, probably all handcrafted by André and his team. André, the owner, is a good friend over very long years. one can obtain a late checkout time which is quiet helpful when returning ro Europe with a KLM or a SN flight.

Good -- bordering Excellent -- as always before!

The only thing I wish management would improve is: (i) availing tea or coffee at all times; and (ii) giving the opportunity to guests to have meals prepared at the Garni's kitchen. For the latter, it doesn't mean Garni must have ready staff all the time. Just arranging that the day before or at breakfast guests could express their wishes, making things a lot easier for management. I rated `Facilities´ at 7 because of the small size of the bathroom -- especially the tiny shower cubicle...

Le Garni is just Fantastic!

The staff is very friendly, Anatole prepares a very good breakfast. Large bed, recommended place to stay for working and enjoying a calm vacation with family. The pool is clean and i and my daughter had a fantastic stay at LeGarni. Strategic location, you can walk to pick anything in the city center. The staff bought a special TV channel for my daughter. I will go back again. Covid 19 protocol is observed.

Some country music or TV in the lobby/restaurent would warm the atmosphere a bit.

Very good

As soon as I arrived I was welcomed by the receptionist by name, very attentive, polite and professional. Comfortable sized room, decor and interior design is retro but appealing in its own way. Nice hot shower. Hotel is a short distance from the centre of town. Breakfast is served from 6:30 but was able to get it earlier so I could catch an early flight. Breakfast was wonderful, great selection, healthy, nutritious and fresh! Coffee was great too.

The room opened to the garden and pool area and had loads of mosquitoes.
