The location is far, you have to paid a taxi 20 USD to reach the nearest village, Jambiani.
I was the only guest in the compound and not feeling safe. The reception was closed when arrived and staff were not aware about my stay despite booking in advance(internal miscommunication and recurrent issues with Booking based on information received so far). Never had a such bad experience in Zanzibar (third long stay on the island). Interaction with the manager was not respectful. The satisfaction of the customer is not a priority. If I compare this accommodation with others having the same standards, this one is over-rated. I've left after one night and a basic breakfast.

This really is a wonderful place everything you need to relax. Small place, just 12 rooms, perfectly formed! Superb outlook, great bungalow accommodation, fabulous team of well trained locals led by one of the coolest and most efficient guys I have come across. Roger the Rasta is on it and you wouldn't even know it.
Great choice of food and reasonably priced. Plenty of varieties of drinks and if you want something specific for your stay Roger and his team will oblige. Nothing seems too much.
My daughters had a number of spa treatments as did some of the other guests who were there and all came back glowing.
There were some low key, very entertaining events put on that got all guests hooked.
Would definitely like to return soon!

The food overall was great. Deliciously prepared and high quality for sure.
I loved the vibe of the place and how quiet and relaxed it was. When we wanted entertainment, we could just walk to a neighboring hotel but definitely preferred the atmosphere of ujamaa and the staff.
Breakfast could've done with more variety day to day (we stayed 4 nights).
We pre-ordered a private dinner and I thought we could pick which night. Instead, it was on the night we arrived when we were delayed, exhausted and unable to fully enjoy it. Also, a meal kept warm is never to the full standards that the kitchen originally prepares it.

It was quite, good service of lovely staff. The pool is great, the ocean so lovely when the tide is high. All decorations looks good.
I like everything but be where of its very calm and it’s not much to do. If you want to do tours you have to hire a care and it’s kind of expensive compared to everything else. Just go to Ujaama and Makunduchi to chill.

Breakfeast was quite good. We could order fresh coffe, avocado, mango and egg which is a big plus for us. Lots of options, all of us was very pleased.
The caffe-latte was a bit inconsistent, sometimes very good other times not so much.

My partner and I had a great stay - wonderful staff and very relaxed atmosphere, you start to feel really at home and welcomed. Nothing is too big or too small of an ask and the staff go out of their way to remember the "little things" that help make your stay special.
The pool is beautiful, our room was clean, comfortable and cool (thanks to the aircon!!!). Every meal we had really was phenomenal; the food exceeded our expectations and the chef/kitchen staff deserve much thanks!!
Our tours were also all wonderful and helped us see much of Zanzibar on a short schedule, however a bit more clarity on the structure of the tours would have been helpful for other guests in the future (i.e. is this price for a private guide or group tour) - we did ask, but often didn't know the full deep detail of the trip until we arrived.

The resort is very well managed and maintained. All staff are really nice and helpful, the food and drinks are great and the location is also very good if you are looking for a more local and quiet place.

We loved little (!!) bungalows and the property is AMAZING really. You can walk barefoot all day to the bar, pool, beach (across tiny road) and it is amazing. It is off beaten track and quiet, nice beach, nice local people, nice staff. Little bungalow had A/C and private terrace. Great idea to provide water (unlimited) to guests and from a large cooler/container to save on plastic. Very cool!
Sadly, the place would benefit from better management. No one asked if we enjoyed stay, or if we need anything. Breakfast kind of boring after a few days, and only 2 eggs allowed. No veggies, just 2 eggs and starch variety, good coffee though. With little cost, great improvement could be made to make it a 9.0 facility. Seafood platter yummy, meat dishes not so.

This is a great ngo from Italy that helps the local community. The staff
are wonderful and very helpful. Great for families and couples. Lots of
privacy and fun areas for the kids. Great buffet breakfast and lunch and
dinner is always well made except it takes a little time as it's
always freshly made. We did a local tour of the village and was really
great to see real village life. There is a nice mix of continental and
local food although I would like to see a bit more local dishes. The
cleaning ladies do a great job everyday cleaning the rooms and the bar
men and waiters are great and enjoy a bit of banter. The spa is also
quite nice and I enjoyed the leg massage. There is a little shop
that's sells a few curios that go towards the Ujamaa organisation.
There aren't a lot of other hotels or restaurants in the area so you
would have to travel a little bit to see or eat at other locations.
There are no bicycles for children. Food takes a little time to get made
but not necessarily a bad thing.
