Our family loved the location and access to the small lake. We brought our two kayaks and enjoyed the canoe provided for everyone's use. Four of the six adults had never kayaked before and neither have the 6 and 7 year-old granddaughters, and the lake was the perfect size for swimming and learning to kayak, and the small beach front was great for our camping chairs. We agree with other reviews that the road to the cabin (and nearby cabins) is very narrow and steep in places with many large ruts, so you should plan to drive slowly even with 4-wheel or all-wheel drive. We own a hot tub, so the absence of a hot tub was not an issue, and access to the lake was a strong selling point. Another strong selling points was the fenced in area that allowed our two dogs to run freely while having access to the lower and middle level decks, so we didn't have to worry about them wandering off into the woods. And unlike stays at other cabins we did not have to comb the woods to gather wood for the fire pit. The owners have a large stack of split and covered firewood to last an entire winter. We had a great time and highly recommend this cabin!

Was exactly as advertised. Our family completely enjoyed everything the cabin offered. Enjoyed sitting out on the deck and watching movies downstairs at night after a fire. Cabin was very clean and completely well stocked with everything needed especially in the kitchen. Appreciated the nice little touches like the smores ingredients and popcorn that was provided. We would definitely stay here again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Garry's cabin. The place was SPOTLESS, well-appointed, and the fenced in yard was perfect for the pups. We enjoyed hiking, swimming and just hanging out and definitely plan to return!

We came to Hocking Hills for the hiking and the Bigfoot Festival in Logan. We lucked into this beautiful, well-appointed, and relaxing retreat. The house was a great After driving a rugged road that made us feel like we were off the grid, we arrived at this lovely cabin in the woods, wrapped in decks and surrounded by trees, where the owners had every convenience--a fire ring with chopped wood, smores materials, wifi, a full kitchen with everything you might need to cook, great suggestions for food and travel, and games/videos/gear. The beds were comfy and the rooms were roomy. We had a great time traveling around to caves, restaurants, and wineries as expected, but we also had a lot of down time at this wonderful spot. If you are reading this, book it!

Our family stayed at this amazing property the first week of August 2024. My husband and I went with our adult kids and pup Izzy. The cabin was more than we could have ever hoped for or imagined. This cabin in the woods was secluded, and aesthetically beautiful inside and out. The exterior decks were super cool, we spent most of our time relaxing on one of the decks or by the firepit which was also such a strong selling point for our family. The inside of the cabin was beautiful and was well stocked with absolutely everything we could have needed. The primary upstairs bedroom was open and welcoming. The bed was very comfortable and the French doors opening to the upper deck let in great natural light. That upper deck made you feel like you were in a tree house😊This property is pet friendly and has a fenced in perimeter that includes all the wrap around decks and the front deck at well. We took advantage of the lake, which is small and perfect for swimming. The water was very clean and refreshing, the bottom of the lake is coarse sand, very easy to walk on. We trekked the small distance down to the lake every day we were there. Lastly, Garry provided a list of all the local contractors and their contacts that helped build this wonderful cabin, I thought this was very cool! Thank you, Garry, for sharing this wonderful property, our family made some amazing memories that will last a lifetime! “Sometimes you don’t know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.”Dr. Seuss

Lovely cabin in Hocking Hills, perfect for a family of teens and 20-something children. Very clean and well decorated, small details appreciated like host leaving s’more ingredients! If there was one caution it was the road leading up to the cabin—rough and steep, our Honda Odyssey van bottomed out a few times, would not want to attempt the road in less than ideal conditions—gravel added to the pot holes would help considerably. Perfect long weekend for our family!

Amazing cabin with all the amenities. Bonus was the game room and the zip line swing, hiking trial outside for the kids. Enjoyed our stay and couldn’t ask for a better location 20-30 min relaxing drive to all the hot spots!

This cabin was more than spacious enough for six of us. Kitchen was well equipped and the grill outside fired right up. It was convenient to everything we wanted to visit while we were in hocking hills. I would absolutely stay again but next time we’ll bring our other car as the access road to the cabin was little challenging for my little Impreza but we did make it without any trouble on a clear summer day.

My family and I had a great stay at this house. We loved having our dogs with us too, the fenced yard was very convenient. Comfy beds and cozy spaces inside. Hocking Hills just a short drive away. The fire pit in the yard was a nice bonus. We would definitely recommend!

Our 4 night stay at the Brown’s cabin was awesome! The cabin owners are great communicators and the cabin was extremely clean. Lots of heat during the cold nights. TV reception allowed us to watch lots of football. Plenty of towels, linens and pillows. Lots of hiking close by. There were comfortable gathering places and three large decks that provided beautiful, peaceful views. We so, so enjoyed a great Thanksgiving holiday! Thank you Brown family!

We stayed in this gorgeous home in the hills for 4 nights and it just wasn't long enough. Even after calling last minute to add an additional night, we couldn't get enough. The open-air feel with three decks and a multitude of doors and windows that could be opened allowed us to really feel like we were living in nature at its best. The amenities were clean, plentiful and had everything you could want in a cabin rental. The home was incredibly well kept and was spacious enough for 6 adults to have their own area to enjoy. The property was perfect for dogs as the yard was fenced and they loved it as much as we did. Finally, the owners were friendly and cooperative and were very good at communicating quickly. We would highly recommend this rental to any family wanting to leave everything behind for a bit. Thanks so much for having us!!

it needs a bit more attention to cleaning and upkeep. The only dry balcony to enjoy the rain is full of wood rack and trash cans that could be moved. Lawn was unkept and I had to do too much cleaning . Considering the cost, could've been much better. Simple fixes.

My wife and kids and I were looking to take a quick little trip away for the weekend before school started and we found Garry’s cabin. The place was clean, nice and quiet, and well stocked. We spent the weekend playing board games that we supplied and sitting by a fire. The drive up to the cabin is a bit rough as others have mentioned, but I think that added to the “disconnecting” for the weekend.
Garry was great. He was quick to respond to a question I had. Check in was easy. And the small touches he adds were great. (Free s’mores supplies, a free bundle of firewood, a custom sign greeting you.)

Communication with property owner was top notch! House was perfect for 4 adults and 3 kids and had just about everything you would need. The road was rough as other people have said but not impassable. Wifi was fast enough to stream kids’ tablet games, etc which made them happy during chill time. Wish there was a hot tub but we were super impressed by everything! We would definitely go back.

Beautiful cozy cabin! So much thought was put into making us feel welcome and comfortable! It was the perfect set up for our little one year old grandson to walk around freely. All we had to do was put our baby gate up where the stairs are to the yard. We can’t wait to go back! Thank you so much!

A wonderful well designed cottage in the woods. It was well furnished with all of the comforts of home. Our grandsons loved the foosball table. The cottage was very clean.

Great cabin to spend the weekend with friends and family. Really enjoying the close proximity to the hiking trails in the area and the nearby pond was perfect for fishing with kids.

Check-in was simple, house was incredibly well-stocked, immaculate, gorgeous, and the use of space was intelligent, thoughtful, and intentional. Scenery was gorgeous and serene! We'd planned to hike in Hocking Hills and kayak/canoe, but we were so cozy, we just lounged, enjoyed the peace of the woods, and really relaxed. Absolutely lovely, and we hope to return!
We could hear the kids at the neighboring cabin, and greeted neighbors walking the drive from the front porch, but overall felt secluded, and unbothered!

Everything was great. Me and my friends and nephew stayed for the weekend and had a great time easy to handle and nice wooded area

Total people that stayed: 5 adults over the age of 18 and one 17 year old. Perfect place to stay if you are looking for peacefulness and to clear your mind. We used the grill everyday
and the fire pit every night. Lots of space to spread out and relax. There are board games as well as a good all table. Down the road there is even a spot to fish. We will definitely be staying here again in the near future. Easily rated 10/10.

We could not have been happier with this rustic, homey property for a memorable Thanksgiving. Indoor and outdoor accommodations allowed us to experience old family traditions and make new ones. The layout of the home was perfect for grandmother and her family. The grandchildren were sad when it was time to leave.

The property was perfect for our needs! We gathered around the campfire, ate s'mores, hiked old man's cave and had delicious meals. The property was beautiful with the fall foliage and wrap around porch.
