My wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming bungalow near Cape May, NJ, on the Delaware Bay. The host was incredibly friendly and communicative, always eager to assist us and ensure our stay was enjoyable.
The bungalow provided a comfortable retreat for us. We especially loved listening to the soothing sound of the waves, which was particularly delightful during high tide.
One night, a storm rolled through, and the intensified sounds of the waves made for a cozy and memorable experience.
While the kitchen is small and somewhat older, it met our needs adequately. We brought in food one night and enjoyed a meal at a local restaurant the next. The provided beach tags allowed us to visit Stone Harbor beach. We also ventured into Cape May and had a wonderful time scaling the lighthouse.
The property's location offers a perfect balance of seclusion and convenience. It is remote enough to feel like a getaway, yet close enough to a variety of attractions. The private beach (at high tide) right in front of the property is small and there is foot traffic. Also, the adjacent lot was a popular gathering spot during the day and evening for neighbors from across the street and down the road. While they were friendly, their presence so close to the property and the screened-in porch diminished the sense of privacy.
Overall, our stay was relaxing, and we appreciated the serene and picturesque setting of the bungalow.

Had such an incredible, relaxing stay here! The location was amazing. Beautiful views, quiet and quaint street. The back porch and deck were perfect to watch the sunset or sit out under the moonlight. The private beach was great and we felt like we had plenty of privacy overall. Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean waves was magical.
Kate was such a wonderful host. Quick communication and really went above and beyond to meet our needs. The house was stocked with all amenities we needed and very clean. Highly recommend! Will absolutely be coming back in the future!!

I had such a great experience with my husband last year that I brought my sisters this year. Great little bungalow on the bay - awesome sunsets - gentle lapping waves under the deck and house at high tide - interesting learning experience of the horseshoe crabs, seagulls and migratory birds. Our host Kate was awesome! So attentive and gracious.

Even though our mid October stay was rainy and chilly, the memories made in this delightful and charming cozy cottage with such a peaceful, beautiful setting were absolutely perfect!
Cottage was just right size for my elderly mother, my sister and myself. We sadly were only able to stay two nights. But what a wonderful time we had! You'll be treated the sound of the water lapping gently on the sand under the house. Enjoyed our morning walks through the community, admiring the cottages from years gone by while gazing out across the marshland.
Kate, the owner, was an absolute perfect hostess! From the moment I booked months ago, her communication and local area guidance was top-notch.
In all, highly recommend this charming cottage. Book today and make your own memories in this peaceful setting!

My husband and I were looking for an escape from the daily grind. We came upon this place and we were thrilled we did! It was a wonderful little beach cottage! The owner, Kate, was so kind and helpful as well as thorough with the check-in details and list of things to do and places to eat. She even checked in with us a few times to make sure that we did not need anything. That is rare and was much appreciated! We loved our stay and the place was awesome! We would love to go back! Thanks for a wonderful escape!

Thank you so much for hosting us, it’s a special place and such a gem stepping back to the old style beach stays.
We hit the Zoo, impressive for a small operation. We did the touristy Wildwood and Cape May without the crowds. Met a fantastic guy at Jersey Bait & Tackle that helped us with bait and rigging, which led to our favorite of all pastimes- fishing right off the deck during high tide. Rick’s Seafood prepared us a fantastic takeout broiled seafood dinner and some fresh steamed crabs. When I couldn’t even look at more shellfish, Bellevue was a great choice for a good steak.
Thank you again for sharing, we napped, which is the 5 star approval we were very comfortable.

This place is hard to find, but once you do, it's cozy and clean. There are, however, a few things that left us wondering, such as the location of the lights in the living room. They are on this gadget in the window with the AC. The second shower is outside and unusable when raining, which it did most of our stay. You can see through the woven wood shades, so there's no privacy, especially from the porch into the bedroom. We couldn't find how to shut off the bathroom lights so they were always on. The bureau is so close to the queen bed, the drawers open just so far. Knowing these things, this is a fine place to stay. We stayed there late September 2023. The owners may have adjusted the items in this review so you may want to check with them if they matter with you. The sounds of the tides lapping against the stilts of the house and the view of the bay from the back porch make this rental sweet.

We had an amazing stay at this property. Kate is a wonderful host- very very accommodating and her communication was proactive, clear and timely. The cleanliness of the house was too good and unlike any other vacation rental I have seen. I didn’t feel a speck of sand on my feet when I walked into this beach house. It was THAT clean! The location on the beach is unbeatable!! Most of NJ beaches are east facing so you can only get to see sunrises at 5-6am (if you can wake up that early) but it was so good to see SUNSETS with a cuppa coffee in my hands at this west facing beach. The sunsets are absolutely magical with gold and red all over the sky and the ocean. (And I so appreciate Kate sending sunset timing too and also restaurant recommendations). I have never experienced a host going above and beyond! The water bottles starter pack is also provided in the fridge. The shower was a bit tight for us but there is another outdoor shower if people like to use that. Kitchen is a bit tight but we didn’t really cook at all but I noticed the pots and pans we very clean .. almost like new. So I could cook if I had too.
To summarize - we had an amazing vacation and I bet so will you!!

I’ve never stayed on the water like this before and it was such an incredible experience! Though we visited during August, we turned off the A/C as soon as we arrived and opened the windows and doors so we could feel the breeze and hear the waves and it was just magical. We went with our three boys, ages 13, 10 and 7 and we all enjoyed the easy access to swimming, kayaking and SUPing (high tide only as low tide brought in a lot of organic debris). The drive to Stony Harbor Beach was about 15-20 minutes and we went there daily as well but always made it back in time for the incredible sunsets and a grilled dinner of some sort.
The house itself is very small but quite comfortable. I would have appreciated a jute doormat at each of the three doors to help keep out sand and hooks on the back of each of the doors and/or a clothesline on the porch for drying suits and towels.
All in all, it was an incredible stay and I’d highly recommend it! Oh, and Kate was super helpful and communicative throughout!

We really enjoyed our stay. The property was exactly as listed. Nice and quiet location right on the water with a great view. It was big enough for a family of 4 although the bathroom was a bit small.

It was exactly what we needed.
Most importantly, K was only a text message away. There is something to be said about service and hospitality.
We felt it from the very beginning. In addition, cleanliness is a must for children under 2. This place was clean and we loved every minute of it. For sure going back.
Thank you for everything.

We absolutely loved our stay! I’ve always enjoyed the laid back bay feel better than a busy beach atmosphere, this cottage exceeded all of that and more! The house itself was very clean and updated with stylish touches throughout. We are a family of 5 (3 year old triplets), the kids had so much fun on the “bunkie” beds and playing in the sand. The beach are is stunning and the sand has beautiful rocks, perfect for kids that like to dig! At night, the water reaches the stairs of the deck, and the sound of the bay can lull anyone to sleep. Our favorite parts of the house were the option to hang out in the screened in porch with a comfy egg chair or on the deck. The sunsets are something out of a postcard! To top it off, the neighbors were wonderful; the beach is private but the neighbors were kind enough to offer their raft, boogie boards etc to our kids. Zero complaints! Would 100% recommend. Thank you for allowing us to create family memories!

We had a really great time at the bungalow. It was super clean, simple, and easy. It was PERFECT for our 3 year old who had carte blanch access to all the optimal streaming channels (which were already signed into and hence easy to access), who was entertained for hours by the charming porch swing, and who loved running up and down the beach. Stunning views, especially sunsets. One of the best, most responsive and accessible and kind hosts ever. Easy access ro beautiful Stone Harbor. Highly recommend. It was perfect for our family.

Our stay was for only one night, however, it was a great one night stay! We had four adults in our party and we were all doing escape the cape triathlon. It was a nice quiet neighborhood so we were able to get good rest for our busy day. The hosts went above and beyond for us when we encountered an issue with one of the window ac units. I was so thankful for their response. The shower stall is a little on the tight side but otherwise a great location!

The perfect time away! Kate was an absolute pleasure to work with. This legit over the water cottage was exactly what we expected. Clean, cozy, and relaxing. The sunrises and sunsets were breathtaking.
We miss our daily walks to Reed's beach, a short walk. So peaceful.
We ventured to the downtown area, which was an adorable town. Beautiful Victorian homes, with tons of restaurants and shops. It's a must.
Restaurants we enjoyed downtown.
Ugly Mug - lobster roll delish!
Mad Batter -drinks, apps..then back for breakfast. :)
The cheese shop - delicious spreads and breads
Elaine's - great outdoor bar with live music

My husband and I wanted to get away for a long weekend and, of course, our go-to is the Jersey Shore. I found this little unique cottage on Reeds Beach and wasn’t sure what to expect. Well, we loved it the minute we walked through the front door. It is a lovely little beach cottage … small (as expected) and very clean and well kept. Nice little welcoming touches throughout. We weren’t sure at first about our loudly squawking neighbors but come to appreciate them and the unique wildlife experience they offered us quickly … seagulls feasting on horseshoe crab eggs! My husband went out every morning to flip over the horseshoe crabs after they mated so they could make it back out to sea. We learned so much that weekend! We loved relaxing on the back deck watching the bay tides and the sunset and falling asleep with the waves lapping under our bed … yes, under our bed. The owner stayed in touch throughout our visit. We will definitely return!

Loved the very private location and enjoyed the watching the crab mating season and all the seagulls. It’s a bit out of the way for nightlife or restaurants if that’s your thing. We enjoyed some time over in Cape May and on the boards in Wildwood!
The house was very clean, and a thoughtful tray if snacks was left for us with a welcome note.
This is the perfect place for a couple to really get away and have privacy. We really enjoyed our stay!

We stayed for an enlongated weekend to celebrate my sisters 40th birthday. The house was adorable, clean, and perfect for our group! The beach was beautiful, and the tide lulled us to sleep at night. Our only regret was not staying longer!

We had a great time at Kate's place. It's very special and unique in its location, perfect for a couple or small family. Communication with Kathryn was very pro-active and she even accommodated a change in our dates due to weather. Highly recommend for a special experience.

Just had a great long weekend with my family. The house is small but was plenty of space for me, my husband, and two young kids. My boys loved playing in the sand and thought it was so cool during high tide when the water came up to the house. The host was very accommodating and gave us several ideas for activities. We enjoyed the zoo, wineries, driving around to various beaches, visiting Cape May, and grilling and enjoying the sunset at the house. We had a great time and hope to visit again in warmer weather!

What a beautiful getaway spot! Small home perfect for 2 or 3 people. Gorgeous views, great location, your own private beach! The owner checked in every step of the way. We couldn't have asked for a better trip! We are planning a trip back!

To say my friends and I love this property and house is a major understatement. This was our third time staying here and it truly never disappoints. Kate is the best host and is so easy to work with from booking to check out and everything in between. As I wrote in previous reviews, the place is very unique in that it is a beach and a bay house all in one. Low tide brings a beautiful beach to your deck that you can lay on all day or like us, take endless walks up and down the coast to hunt for sea glass, shells, cape may diamonds, and beautiful rocks. At high tide, the deck becomes a dock that you can fish and crab from with much success!!! We're already looking to book our fourth trip of what I'm sure will be many more in the future. Thanks Kate and family!!

My family of four decided to get away when our normally busy schedules unexpectedly aligned for two whole days off together. We chose this property because it looked close to the water and wasn't too expensive, not really expecting much considering the price. Boy were we pleasantly surprised!
From the time we booked until we were well on our way home, Kate made herself easily accessible for communication! She welcomed us with the most comprehensive information I've ever received from a host chalk full of everything from quirks of the property to restaurant recommendations. Compared to some previous hosts we've had to deal with, this was a terrific change of pace!
Let's talk about the property. It is not large, and first glance at the single indoor shower had me, as a large guy, quite worried. I actually considered buying a robe in town and using the outdoor shower! Then the tide came in and took that option away. Beach-front is an understatement. At low tide, like when we arrived, you have your very own private beach! At high tide, it's a good thing the house is on pilings. So I ended up showering inside and actually didn't have any difficulty, the shower seems tight from outside but was plenty roomy enough once you step in!
The house itself was comfortable and clean and beautifully decorated. Nobody in our family kayaks but we nonetheless appreciated the host's offer to use theirs! We slept like babies that night with the waves literally right outside our windows and then had an easy ride to our next destination: the nearby Cape May Lewes Ferry.
Overall, we had a truly delightful time. The property was lovely, the hosts were wonderful, and we will happily look them up again next time we're in the area!

What a wonderful experience we had staying here. If you love to relax, to be on the water, have your own private beach, have a magnificent view (always!!!) and just soak it all in…meanwhile be minutes from a variety of other beaches and entertainment but when your done be able to just come back, chill and unwind while enjoying a refreshing breeze and listening to the water while sticking your toes in the sand - this is a perfect place! We had a beautiful week and not only is the location great but having a great host, is just the icing on the cake. Thank you Kate. 😊

I stayed here October 2021 and swore I would come back I did this past week September 2022 and brought my sister so she could enjoy this beautiful Area! Between the deck and the beautiful sunsets the bird sanctuary at the end of the street the reef with all the shells at the other end of the street and all the friendly people we met who grew up on that street!
Two days after we were back I spoke to my sister it to mention Kate and Steve who are just fantastic the house is perfect! My sister who has never been to Cape May now wants to go back again after our visit! I know I will even if she doesn’t I just love the location of This house!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this little Reeds Beach gem. The beauty of this house is its location, literally above the ocean for significant portions of the day. At night, it was beautiful to simply sit on the back porch, surrounded by the sound of the waves. The house is not intended to be a five-star resort, but rather a comfortable and cozy little abode from which to appreciate all the simple and beautiful things that surround it. Our hosts, Kate and Steve, were great. They checked in with us via message multiple times to ensure that all was ok with the house. Though there are several interesting attractions to visit nearby, we preferred to spend most of our time just enjoying the beautiful view of and proximity to the ocean, as well as searching for some 'cape may diamonds'. We are very much appreciative of the opportunity to enjoy this special little spot, and hope to return again in the future.

We had a very relaxing, peaceful stay in this cute house. The best part was being right on the water. The views of the sunsets, sunrises, big sky, and endless water - along with the sound of the waves - were amazing. The house had everything we needed, and we were outside on the screened-in porch and deck as much as possible. Even on our rainy days, we spent most of the time outside on the porch (love the swing chair!), watching the storm and listening to the water. There were plenty of activities and restaurants nearby, including in Cape May. Kate, the owner, was great about checking in with us and very easy to communicate with. I definitely recommend this little house for a relaxing stay on the water.

This is the perfect summer retreat in Cape May Court House, close to Cape May, Wildwood, Stone Harbor, and Avalon. We loved the airy and comfortable home with plenty of room for 5 guests. I fell asleep to the lapping waves as the tide rolled in, creating a peaceful escape from day-to-day life. We enjoyed the bay, fishing off the beach, walking on sand from the steps off the porch, and witnessing amazing sunsets over the bay (as well as sunrises over the marsh). We cooked and grilled, enjoying the screened-in porch and hanging swing. I particularly enjoyed the refreshing outdoor shower after the beach. We saw so many horseshoe crabs, baby turtles, and fish. We enjoyed the local restaurants, especially Claudio's, the zoo nearby, the Aqua Water Park in Stone Harbor, the boardwalk in Wildwood, and a dolphin cruise from Cape May, in addition to the beaches at Stone Harbor (96th St) and surf lessons at Avalon Surf Camp (12th St). We also enjoyed talking with neighbors who were so friendly and taught us about life at Reeds Beach through the years. Our host (Kate) was so accessible and accomodating, checking on us through our 10 day stay. My family and I recommend this location and plan to be back again! Enjoy Reeds Beach!

The house was perfect for our family. We spent a lot of time enjoying the screened porch and listening to the waves lap underneath us. Everything we wanted to do was just a short drive away, the beach, great restaurants, jet skiing, and the boardwalk in Wildwood. Our hosts were kind and checked in with us often to make sure things were going well. All in all a perfect home base for our summer vacation.

a special place
What an amazing little home and even more amazing property owners! Starting with the home, from the moment we were approaching it, our kids started screaming with excitement because it is right on the water. They immediately ran down to the beach and started exploring the horseshoe crabs when a baby turtle came out of the water. During high tide at night, the water covers the house, creating an unreal experience. We grilled on the back deck while listening to the waves, watched the sun go down, and sat on the porch for hours. We were there over July 4th weekend and were lucky to watch fireworks right on the beach. Stone Harbor Beach is also a short drive away and the hosts helpfully provide beach tags. We spent a lot of time there with the kids. Now I must say something about the hosts. We have stayed at many properties over the years and the level of hospitality was unmatched. I mentioned to Kate that we would be celebrating my husband's birthday during our stay, and we arrived to a personalized cake and birthday balloon, along with snacks and beach toys for my kids, and wine for the adults. Kate checked on us daily, even sending reminders about the time for sunset. We had the power go out for a little while we were there and she was up at 1am calling the power company to fix the problem. They came very quickly and my kids were excited to watch them repair the lines. We were all incredibly sad leaving this little slice of heaven and will definitely be returning. You will not regret booking this house.

Private Beach Getaway
Amazing, right on the water, with the sound of waves all the time. We loved being able to walk right out onto the beach and see turtles, horseshoe crabs, rabbits, birds and no bugs! Close to the Atlantic beaches and great restaurants in town. Kitchen is super small but hosts provide everything you need. Limited counter space but we made do and you have to be creative. Hosts were super easy to work with. It was like coming home to our own cozy place where we could reset totally and get in beach mode.

Location is good, property so-so
My wife and I stayed at this property for two nights. Communication with the owner was easy and we got into the house with a coded keypad. The positives: the view of the water was great, the sand was fine, the neighbors were quiet, and the WiFi worked well. The negatives: the house was definitely not luxurious, despite costing us over $500/night (with the cleaning fee etc), the pillows were the thinnest I've seen, the shower stall is very small, the window AC units were quite loud, and the property looked like it just needed to have some better maintenance (eg burned out refrigerator light, no handles on the lower kitchen cabinet doors, broken bathroom fan, a shower water knob that just spins around, etc). There isn't a huge variety of restaurants in close proximity but we drove to Cape May and Stone Harbor. My wife and I agreed we would definitely go somewhere else if we were to return to the area.

Absolutely Amazing Vistas
We stayed a week at this property and enjoyed every moment of our vacation. The bungalow was remote and quiet, which was exactly what we wanted. The wildlife was incredible to watch. I enjoyed collecting sea shells and sea glass every morning. The house was beautifully furnished and had a full kitchen, ac, ceiling fans, & wifi. Kathy was super responsive to all our questions and needs! We would definitely stay again!
