Overall this is a comfortable, quaint little cabin with a lot of character. We really enjoyed our stay. The beds are big and the wood burning stove is great.
I do have a few minor things I would improve on:
- There is no mat at the front door, so when you come in with snow on your boots, water just pools up right on the hardwood floor. Please put a big absorbent mat inside the front door.
- The front door does not latch unless you use the electronic combo lock, which requires a 10-digit code. This is super annoying if you're hauling a bunch of luggage back and forth and don't want your dog (this is a dog-friendly cabin) to get out. It means you have to lock the door every time you exit and then every time you come back you have to get your phone out, look at the code, then type it in, usually with a bunch of stuff in your hands because you don't want to put your luggage down in the snow... Please install a new doorknob under the lock that allows the door to latch without locking the door.
- Please provide a plastic catch pan to go under the dish drying rack. We could not find one and so all the water from the washed dishes pooled up on the counter. Maybe we just didn't see it?

Great location, easy check in, house was stocked with soap, shower gel, shampoo, toilet paper, dishwashing liquid, sponge, comfortable beds, the only downside was that it was very cold in the living-dining-kitchen area, despite the heat working well, and we were chilly while being there. THe bedrooms were warm then and the upstairs was obviously even warmer. There was a wood stove in the living room but no wood provided and I felt nervous using it in case it did not have good ventilation - that would have improved the overall comfort, or having more blankets available. I think this would be an amazing place to stay in the summer! Very close to the food store and to great restaurants and to the Northstar ski resort. I would definitely go there again during warm weather.

The good. The interior decoration is rustic ++++ to die for, completely cabin in the woods flavor. The upstairs master and bathroom are absolutely fantastic! The kitchen is WELL equipped with every utensil, pot, and pan for your vacation cooking needs. We fed a family of 6 great breakfasts and dinner on the GIANT 6 person table. This was a perfect launching spot for exploration of N Lake Tahoe, it's close enough for a quick drive to every tourist trap in Kings Beach, but far enough away to feel quiet and secluded from the rush and bustle of tourists. The place is also pet friendly, so that clinched the sale for us!
The bad: The place has a dated exterior and is in bad need of serious sprucing and painting. The outdoor deck is cracked and fading as is the picnic table. The back yard is also a little junky with lots of cut and fallen logs and some cables and ropes. The neighbors do let their dogs run free so if your pup is anti social you might run into problems.
The ugly: The kitchen had a hole in the floor by one wall to the foundation, but no little forest critters appeared to know about it...yet.

Lots of issues. Dirty linens on the porch when we got there, full trash upon arrival, dirty blankets in the closet, door that had a broken framing that kept it from closing properly and made a horrific sound, literally stepped through the floor trying to open a window. Needs updating! Not worth the money!

We enjoyed our stay. Cabin was rustic and quaint . Bedroom were big and beds comfortable.
Kitchen equipped with cooking equipment but bring everything you need foodwise for cooking- no condiments, spices, etc. Bring firewood as none provided. Our stay was very comfortable and relaxing. Note, if you rent during snowy season, we needed to shovel snow berm in driveway to park upon arrival as it was not plowed.

Eyesore of the Neighborhood
The entire exterior of this property was unkempt and in disrepair, requiring carpentry, sanding and refinishing of all exterior surfaces (to an extreme extent - probably 30 years overdue). The yard was strewn with junk including salt bags, unwound hoses and exposed wiring, broom/tool handles, broken furniture, etc. It was so embarrassing that I couldn't share pictures with friends of our trip.
