Beautifully located in the jungle, rooms were big and open with lovely views. Friendly staff. The breakfast was great, which consisted of either pancakes, omelette, or eggs your way with toast, bali coffee, fresh fruit juice, and a generous serving of fruit all for 60k.
If you’re not a fan of nature and jungle vibes, it may not be for you, but I loved the no tv, and just chilling on the deck playing cards with the kids.

Beautiful garden
Rat infested. We had rats in our bedroom. The manager knew about the rats and found it funny.
The whole place is very dirty - bathroom in the main house is worse than a trainstation public toilet. Kitchen very dirty, I refused to touch the fridge door throughout our entire stay. Had to desinfect every cuttlery and every glass before using.
Toilet in Joglo 3 (the newest one) has nasty gunk at the base leg, so the whole bathroom stinks like old urine on hot days.
Mosquito nets stained with large dead insects littered on top of it.
Joglo 2 is worn out, the bed plaid that is on photos from 2021 is still on the bed, never washed by the looks of it.
Spiderwebs everywhere, never sweeped. I have stayed in low budget eco lodges in the heart of the rainforest of Borneo, which also had open walls etc. and never experienced such issues. The natural setting is not an excuse for low maintenance. The staff just does not care, they do the absolute bare minimum and it shows. The glory of this place is long gone.
Manager, who is the main point of contact, barely speaks English and communication with him is insanely difficult. Do NOT let him talk you into arranging your activities through him - you will regret it. His driver is not a guide and we wasted a whole day with him.
Some requests, that were promised to be arranged, were simply forgotten.
Do NOT let them talk you into using their drivers - they are way too expensive, creating the prices as they please.
Swimming pool lights dont work, so in the evening the pool is an unviting black hole.
The only nice thing about this place is the garden, so save your money and stay elsewhere.

The surroundings are spectacular, so is the service and the privacy you get in the joglo. The service personal was also very attentive and super friendly!
Not a negative for us, actually the grand positive, but if you don’t like nature, it’s nothing for you - the joglos are partially open to the nature, so occasional lizard sights inside shouldn’t wonder you ;)

the most amazing setting I’ve ever stayed at. beautiful garden and huge room with big glass sliding doors. the room is even prettier than in the pictures
good to know is that it’s quite humid in the Ubud area. especially in rainy season. you will also feel that a bit in the villa

This is truly a magical jungle retreat! Tucked away 15 mins from the city center. Traditional Joglo style with shabby chic/ modern interior design. A refresh of linens and bed drapes would serve well but other than that, everything else was perfect from the staff, to the magical views and jungle sounds. I don't like sleeping with the air-conditioner so it was fine for me but those that don't enjoy the humidity it may be a problem because there isnt one . There were 2 fans that kept me cool throughout the night which was perfect for me. I also LOVED the semi open closed feel and waking up to jungle.sounds and the rain. Surprisingly i didnt see many critters ..especially mosquitoes which made me SO happy! There are a lot of jungle.noises... birds, geckos, frogs ALL which I LOVED! It's an excellent meditation space and the staff couldn't do enough to make us feel at home! Our short stay was NOT enough and I would certainly recommend and willl.stay again! Mona, Kethut and Gusti were all fantastic! Thanks for a memorable stay!
Place could have been a little cleaner, but we asked for a super early check in (which they happily obliged) so I was more forgiving because it was so early.

The most beautiful and magical place at which I have ever stayed. A perfect getaway from concrete to real jungle, something each and every one of us should try at least once in their life.
Just imagine you wake up in a comfortable bed in the middle of the deep tropical forest. The air you breathe is pure and moist. The temperature is just perfect without any air conditioning, thanks to villa’s design and clever use of landscape features. You’ve got everything you need: electricity, kitchen, fresh water, showers, bed under a huge bug net and two huge celling fans.
There is also a big pool.
I hope I’ll come back there someday 😊

My short stay at Mahadevi was possibly my most memorable luxury holiday ever. The two exquisite guest Joglos on the beautifully landscaped, lush grounds are positioned for good privacy. The traditional architecture mixed with modern comfort features and technology make for a special escape and the view from my private deck was just unreal. Sleeping on the large bed felt like floating on a magic carpet in the jungle. The main house with lounge and breakfast room by the pool is a tastefully appointed oasis. The staff is friendly, accommodating and discrete.
Uff, to be honest there is nothing that I didn't like. I guess the weather was not as good as we would have hoped, but you can hardly blame that on Villa Mahadevi :)

Super friendly and uncomplicated Gusti and staff. Accommodation and location a luxury dream. Tasteful design in tune with nature. Excellent mattress, attention to detail everywhere.
Couldn't ask for anything more

This place was out of this world - like a piece of a true paradise- stunning design, laid back atmosphere, completely private, but also someone always available should you need something. One of the most beautiful villas I’ve stayed in Bali at.
I have to mention that the joglos are semi-open, so you really feel like you’re sleeping in the jungle, but that also means all the jungle sounds and night creatures around. Sleeping under mosquito nest was surprisingly comfortable and much less mosquito-intense than I expected, so we had no problems with them. Open walls also mean no aircon, just fans, that was also magically enough to cool the room. And there are three walls of glass and no night curtains, so it’s useful to wakeup at sunrise and go to bed early:) this only added to the charm of this place, but might bot be for everyone.
Our 3 year old son loved the kid friendly pool and huge common area he could run around.
