This property is very dated with screens/windows/doors, the deck, etc. in very poor condition. While “clean”, creature comforts were at a bare minimum (no paper goods, foil, trash bags, extra detergent, paper towels, basic spices, etc. were in the kitchen) and the ROKU wasn’t properly connected to the main tv. No box fans were provided (except for one that was broken) and it was very warm inside. Few windows could be opened because of the holes in the screens or ones that were missing altogether. The property’s carpet needs replaced (dated with lots of burn marks) and a musty/mold smell was apparent throughout the unit. It’s in a wonderful location and we made it work for our short stay, but I would not rent to again.

The layout and décor in s little dated. If you are going to only have one bathroom on the second floor it should be accessible to both bedrooms. We observed some structural problems , but that's what we do. The location is great and the price was good. Only one roll of tp in each bathroom, but we were warned.

Please read thoroughly! Positives-location, hot tub, number of beds. Thats where it ends, folks. The most disturbing event was upon our arrival Friday evenving, the upstairs tub/shower combo leaked into the downstairs. The 1st floor ceiling plaster was falling onto the floor. Even though I followed procedure, there was no returned communication with Canaan Realty until later that afternoon when the owner advised us not to use that shower. Additional arrangements were never offered. Hairs were seen on the sheets and extra blankets were wadded up and thrown in the closet floors . The owner again had no apology or resolution to this matter. A fan that we wanted to utilize was broken and nothing was offered to replace it. In fact, I received a rude email saying that I shouldn't be needing to use a fan in cold weather. I felt my entire weekend was spent trying to communicate with Canaan Realty. It was very stressful. For reference, I have never written a bad review before for anything in my life. This is not a problem I have ever encountered before. I encourage you to read through prior reviews as well. I did not read enough of them before booking. The same inconveniences have been written about before.

We had a fun filled four days skiing, tubing, and sledding. Cabin is in a good location close to everything.

A bunch of friends from med school needed to recharge after a round of exams. This was a great weekend getaway. Being within walking distance to the ski lift was very convenient and the kitchen had everyrhing we needed to cook. The fireplace was also great for making the place warm and cozy. We also had a great time relaxing in the jacuzzi. Overall this was a great time.

Great property a short walk from Tline. Property itself had some small issues however, (broken shower upstairs, some heaters not coming on, broken drawers, etc..) overall we really enjoyed our stay, hot tub was warm and clean.

We had a nice stay. Property manager was very easy to communicate with and was responsive to our needs and questions.

The pet fee was not listed until after booking. I tried to get out of booking and they would not let me. Check in is several minutes from the property. My sheets had hair on them and my daughter's room had trash in it. The AC did not work. The "lake" is basically a pond. Overall very displeased with accommodations for the price it was.

The cabin was nice, needs a few updates but love the layout. The only thing I can said the was disappointing was that it was not as clean as it should have been. The carpeted stair were not swept and the bathroom floors had hair on them. I would rent here again. Shuffle board and hot tub were a hit!!
We stayed at MS106. The picture above was not our rental.

The house was as advertised.. found dryer full of wet towels that had 2 b rewashed, no fabric softener sheets, no dishwasher detergent .. these were all things we hadn’t found in any property over the last 30 (??) years.. the house was great location to ski both Timberline & Cannan Valley.

This house was conveniently located near the Timberline Lodge. This made drop-off and pick-up of skiers and all of their gear super convenient.

We were pleasantly surprised by this lovely house. It’s an older house but the furniture is newer and the layout works well. Loved the baseboard heating—tons of hooks for coats to dry above the heaters.
A few more games/puzzles would be nice. Plenty of space for our family of 4–we didn’t use one of the bedrooms.

The location of this house is perfect (if you are skiing or snowboarding). The clincher for us was that the property allowed pets. We plan on returning.

Everything was very clean and enjoyable. Check in and check out was a very simple process and the staff were very kind. Would definitely visit again!

We stayed at this great cabin over the Thanksgiving weekend. Well stocked kitchen and a lot of space for all. Enjoyed the hot tube and the location.

Everything about the property was accurate and amazing! Would highly recommend using this property and location, and would absolutely return

I realize this area really caters to the ski season, but lots to do there in the summer (hiking, site seeing, shopping, etc.). The property was pretty much as advertised, but details matter. Many light bulbs were out (one lamp was hanging together by a thread), outdoor furniture not comfortable at all, shower sprayer in upstairs bathtub did not work at all, kitchen stove had a burner light on at all times (worrying family members even though nothing was on/hot), no outdoor cooking utensils except a melted plastic spatula, air conditioning sometimes worked, often stuffy in the house even though not hot outside and had windows open. Seems clear this property does not get regular attention. Overpriced for what you get. Would stay at the state part resort next time.

We enjoyed our stay. The property is conveniently located near Dolly Sods and Blackwater Falls State Park. The owners were responsive to my questions before my stay, and the check-in process was easy. The house was a bit dated (that didn’t bother me) but clean. Only real complaint was that the vertical blinds covering the front door were falling apart: so many slats were missing that the blinds were ineffective. But this was a minor issue. Would stay here again.

It was perfect in every way possible. We will definitely book there again

wonderful long weekend in a gorgeous place
Plenty of space for all of us (four adults, 3 kids ages 11-14).
Lovely sunset view, close to everything in Canaan Valley. Some bedroom windows were missing screens, but otherwise the property and amenities were great.

Fun times
Cabin and area was nice and peaceful, plenty of room. The hot tub jets only seemed to work on one side. But we had a fun trip

Quiet little spot
My wife and I were looking for a getaway with the dogs, and Timberline was perfect. The kitchen was well stocked and there were jigsaw puzzles to pass the time on the rainy days. We'd definitely stay again.

February stay
Wonderful location. Nice house layout. Clean. A few light bulbs needs changed

Ideal location, great house
This house was perfect for our ski trip. Truly under a minute drive from the house to the Timberline parking lot. The hot tub was an incredible added amenity. The house itself is a little dated, but for the price, proximity to the mountain, and number of beds, this was an ideal property.

The location is amazing. Right at the base of timberline resort, less than 10 min to Canaan and 15 min to Blackwater Falls. The kitchen/bathrooms are very dated but it was clean, had everything we needed in the kitchen and served us well for a 3 day weekend.
