It was super clean and tidy and rest well kitted out with everything we needed.
The three single beds were uncomfortable. Very noisy and a little unsteady.

My parents used to live in this cottage so it was so lovely to come home with them and my grown up child who spent his school holidays here. It brought many happy memories back. Such a great cottage set in gorgeous scenery. Love it

My family and I had a lovely stay over the Christmas period. Beautiful meadow surroundings, well equipped kitchen for Christmas Dinner and a cosy feeling to the cottage that made us comfortable and content during our stay. We ran into different neighbours during walks, some of which were fellow tourists, others local, and all were incredibly pleasant. Machno Valley offers plenty of scenery and walks, hilly and flatter, that were perfect for dog walking. We visited The Eagles Bunkhouse on Christmas Day for a pub drink and the welcome could not have been nicer, and this is a short drive into Penmachno that we would highly recommend.

Once you get into the property, its great! it has everything you need for a trip. It has a huge lounge, great Kitchen, three bed rooms... only one bathroom but we managed. We had no problem in that. Locality is good & peaceful. Great Wifi.
Property is great but It was our luck that the climate was not great. No telephone network in the whole area. So, plan and save maps and postcodes of attractions before you go out of the house. We helped a mining staff who missed hos transport. He couldnt even call a taxi. He knocked our door, my husband called a taxi for him and his colleague.

Was clean, a good location for Zipworld and mount snowdon, they kept us informed, brilliant facilities.
Nothing to not like only a little suggestion maybe renew the main bedroom mattress as it bends to oneside/dips nearest the window side.

The property is very nice, large living room area, very clean throughout the home, the location is great for hiking and bike riding Penmachno bike trail is 20 minutes drive. Hosts were very helpful and Will be staying again in the future.

The house was stunning, in a beautiful location with a slate trail just around the corner and another lovely little walk around the stream at the end of the street. WiFi was good which made up for having no phone signal. The dogs were happy infront of the fire after their long days of walking and they loved the house aswell. Parking was no problem with a space right outside the home everyday. We loved our stay and hope to return!

The property had everything a family needs.
The property itself was great but the local residents living two doors away and the ones at the end of the road (neither were Welsh) were hostile. It seems the rules for holiday makers are: dogs must be kept on leads at all times, which I had no issue with but it became unreasonable when we were watched and even followed covertly to ensure we pick up behind our dogs, which again we always do as we also live in a National Park. So please beware of these rules, which incidentally, do not apply to locals. One local complained to me about the amount of holiday homes in the village, yet there is no shortage of homes for sale. Very sad, as the hosts are fantastic and extremely helpful. Photo shows view just down the village.

Key safe code was supplied the day before check in an the key safe was easy to find. There was room to park the car on the occasions we stayed. Over all there was a good selection of facilities
The bed in the single room is very creaky and was noticeable from the other rooms

Lovely little cottage in a quiet, secluded location. The kitchen facilities were amazing, wish more places were like this. It had everything I needed and the cottage is nice and cosy with comfy sofas and seemed clean.
The area was nice for walking around, only 10 mins drive from the londis shop in the next village along that you pass through anyway to get to the cottage. Was a good location for exploring Snowdonia and North Wales, even Angelsey.
TIP - write the key code down or screenshot it or you have to drive ten mins to get a mobile phone signal (Not the owners fault at all as we were messaged the code, but the message wasn't open on my browser when we arrived! ) Phone signal was no problem anyway as the WiFi worked perfectly, far better than expected for the area. and there's a landline so there were no problems when finding and booking places to visit.
The double bed was comfortable and each room had good storage and lots of pillows and cushions. Overall it was a great for the price.
I loved the cottage but the single beds in the double room aren't comfortable, otherwise I'd have rated it a 10. Just needed some memory foam toppers or something. With bed hopping children I ended up sleeping in the single room occasionally and found the metal bed creaked a lot. If these things were improved we'd stay again.
I would have felt more comfortable with a stairgate at the top of the stairs but am aware that's personal preference and doesn't cater to everyone's needs.
I think the blinds need the safety clips for the cords to comply with safety standards.

The location was amazing and the cottage was cozy. The bedding was very clean and the cottage was clean. The area was really quiet, peaceful and very remote. Amazing. It was only 20 minutes away from Zip World and local restaurants.
The beds I am afraid. The single beds were not suitable for adults. The 2 single beds in the one bedroom were very wobbly. The single metal bed in the other room was really sqeaky and noisy when you moved in bed and you could feel the metal frame through the mattress.

Absolutely delighted to have stumbled upon Pen y Cwm for a weekend away with my 3 children aged between 1 and 13 years. Amazing location, secluded but within easy reach of local attractions. We drove to Zipworld, Betws Y Coed and Llandudno over the weekend and I'm sure would fit more in during the lighter months. The cottage itself is spotless, cosy, well decorated and fully equipped with modcons whilst also retaining its charm. Mark was helpful and responded to any queries I had and made us feel very welcome. Wifi, Netflix etc all available and although we didnt need it there was a landline as there's no phone signal in the valley. I would say everything you need has been thought of and the icing on the cake was the Christmas tree and prosecco. Thanks for letting us stay at your beautiful home.
