Regency House is a small, independent, boutique hotel accommodating tourists, business people and academics. It is housed in two beautiful, five storey Victorian buildings side by side and located in Cambridge city centre. Built in 1850, the hotel has the charming characteristics of a typical Victorian townhouse, with high ceilings and sash windows. There are 16 stylish rooms and apartments split over five levels; most have a view of the historical 25 acre Parker’s Piece and two have balconies.
Just a five minute walk from the bus station and fewer than ten minutes from the train station.
In 2015, the hotel was fully refurbished with a contemporary colour scheme design from Farrow and Ball. The house has been transformed with new bathrooms, carpets, furniture and fittings. Wi-Fi runs as standard throughout the house and is free. Every room has a flat screen TV, DAB radio, comfortable mattresses with duck and down feather duvets and pillows.
Regency House may not be suitable for guests with disabilities or mobility issues due to the rooms being spread out over five floors. Regency House does not have a night porter to assist guests , guests must be able to evacuate themselves in an emergency. There are no vibrating pads or visual alarms at this property to alert guests with disabilities in the event of fire.

Centrally located, clean, compact (if your from the US and are accustomed to more space). VRBO did not have the check in information.
I had to check email and was not certain who sent it.

We had trouble checking in and I had to make two phone calls - it would be so useful if you included ALL information needed in one e-mail instead of several. Many things were not clear. The location was good and the rooms very clean and comfortable.

We were staying a couple of nights in Cambridge and decided on the Regency Guest House. It is ideally located between the station and the centre. Rooms are a good size and the relaxed atmosphere and self-service style is refreshing. Overall a very enjoyable stay. Only things to improve would be heating - it was quite cold in the room (Room 1) and unfortunately being on the ground floor next to the main door a little noisy so maybe a different room would have made our stay more enjoyable

Enjoyable, but too hot.

It doesn't look much from the outside, but the room (no.2) had a comfy bed, clean shower and bathroom and was ideal for an overnight stay.

Stayed one night, the room was clean but really small. had an en suit which was really clean and nice.
I was given a different room than the one in the picture, which was disappointing. They had only a few en suits and what sold me was the ground floor one, that had big windows. I know pictures are for reference but you either put the right one when selecting the room or you don't put any specific picture when selecting the room, as the picture was what sold me on the place.

We didn't spend a great deal of time in the guesthouse but it suited our purpose for one night of a weekend away.

We had a wonderful weekend in Cambridge with our 8-month-old son. The staff was greatly friendly (we were even allowed to leave our buggy on the ground floor)

I booked at the last minute and everything went smoothly. The accommodation was stylish and superbly clean. Although the price is expensive, it is in line with Cambridge costs. Being on my own, I felt safe and secure entering and being in the property. I had a comfortable sleep.
