Treat the whole family to an unforgettable vacation to the beauty of Donner Lake and indulge in a stay at this lakefront oasis. From the vaulted redwood ceilings and natural light to the spacious deck and private dock, this home boasts unbelievable spaces to relax both indoors and out. Relax and watch the calm waters of the lake from nearly every room in the home, especially from the living area where you can cozy up with a good book in front of the wood-burning brick fireplace (bring your own wood!). Come summer, everyone can congregate on the deck or out on the private dock and dip their toes in the water. Be sure to set aside some time each evening to soak in the private hot tub and watch the distant mountains turn purple as the sun goes down on the lake.
The Sierra Nevadas are a playground for all sorts of people. In the summer, the lake is filled with boats of all kinds and people wakeboarding, fishing, swimming, and just sitting in the sun. The mountains around the lake are great for hiking, mountain climbing, and biking. In the winter, those same mountains are filled with snow -- Sugarbowl, Donner Ski Ranch, Tahoe-Donner, and Boreal are all right there. In any season, Truckee is a great town to explore for shopping, dining, or catching a game at the Bar of America.

With 5 bedrooms on three floors, each family had there own floor and bath.
5.0 / 5.0
If you have a large group, you will not be disappointed with this property. Plenty of private, comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms, plus a well stocked, roomy, fully functional kitchen. The dining area, decks, and dock overlook the lake; the views are breathtaking. It would be difficult to capture the expansive beauty in a photo. Lots of hiking trails, an ice cream shop, and a convenience store within easy driving distance. We (ten people) had a fabulous vacation.
5.0 / 5.0
Everything was immaculate - kitchen, bathrooms, carpets, furniture. It was so relaxing to be surrounded by a well kept home. The furniture in the photos is not the furniture in the living/dining room. They did a massive upgrade and the place looks really elegant, and inviting. The colors are neutral and the beauty of the table and benches is really high. The home looks better than the photos, which is rare, and it also is well built home. The outside does not do justice to the inside, which is strange. We were thrilled. seven of us stayed and had a tremendous time. Very spacious, and all as it should be. The one thing that was tricky is the hot tub cover seems to be broken. There is a metal arm on two sides to make it easier to take it off and put it back on. one side is no longer connected so it is a brute force effort. Maybe that can be fixed? Extremely fast wifi. in fact it worked better than streaming on the TV so we hooked up our laptop to watch netflix because it seemed to be buffering too much on the TV. Here is 10 stars for Vacasa. Easter Sunday I had to get into the bear box and I could not figure out how. There is a key, and you need to apply pressure on both doors to move the key and the latch. I called Vacasa and they sent a wonderful person, Tyler, to come over and help-- in 15 minutes on Easter Sunday! wow! It far exceeded expectations in terms of service from a management company. I want to buy this house. I guess it is not for sale, sadly. We are winter Tahoe folks, but the summer must be lovely in this home.

We stayed here with three families. It was the perfect size for our reunion and the view was truly beautiful. The house itself needs some updating, some things are falling apart, and the furniture looks grimy and the appliances are old. That said, they have upgraded the pots and pans so there were plenty of them for our cooking needs. There was plenty of nice dinnerware and silverware for all of us to use. We didn't have any issues with the heating, the instructions from Vacasa were perfect. They still have not added window coverings to the downstairs twin bed bedroom or the third-floor top window so the light comes in early if you plan to sleep in! As in other reviews, the housecleaning wasn't great. It seemed rushed and definitely wasn't a deep clean. It was a holiday week so we just accepted it and cleaned ourselves a bit to ensure it was thorough. We found all of the towels in the washer and dryer and none in the bathrooms or kitchen. There were no bath mats in any of the bathrooms and no dish towels. There also wasn't any dishwasher detergent, backup paper towels, extra trash bags, or any good sponges for cleaning. We had to buy all of that ourselves. Overall, the good: the location was truly magical, the house was large, and had plenty of space for larger groups. The not-so-good: the cleaning and cleaning supplies were subpar and the house needs some serious updating for the price they charge compared to other cabins in the area.

Wonderful stay with adult children and father in law. Lots of room. Well stocked. Best views on the lake. Appreciate using the kayaks and paddle board. Thank you for the memories

We had 3 families and each family had there own floor with 2 bedrooms and a bath. The main floor had one bedroom and a semiprivate bath. The grandparents took the main floor and our children and grandchildren had the other floors. Worked out great.

House was great - location and views over the lake were as wonderful as promoted. We really liked the house and were comfortable and happy; only suggestions would be to ensure the heat is on when arriving (it was freezing in the house!), and the kitchen utensils and general supplies need upgrading.

We enjoyed our stay at this large home right on Lake Truckee. We appreciated the home was very spacious and while there was only two of us there it could easily accomodate 10+. There is a bunch of ski resorts in the area, we went to palisdes tahoe which was an easy 25 minute drive and one of the best resorts in tahoe. We would definitely recommend this home to others for a winter stay! (probably great in the warmer weather as well)

The view was fabulous and the five bedrooms was perfect for our family

The house was more than big for us 10 adults and a few kids. Neighborhood was quiet and the view of Donner lake was beautiful. Only issue with the home was that the heater was constantly on even though we turned it off. Was too hot at night to sleep upstairs. But downstairs was super cold and heat didn’t work as well. Kitchen had more than enough supplies to cook a few dishes.

The location and views are the best part of this property. The dock and hot tub are why we booked and it did not disappoint. The house is big and has a great space for multiple people. Sadly there were some disappointments with the house.
The cleaning was sub par. There were spider webs, dust and hair all over. The refrigerator, microwave and oven were dirty with food. I read a previous review about missing window blinds, which are still missing. The house was not properly stocked as the listing said. There were no dishwasher pods, garbage bags, etc. there was one hair dryer for the whole house and it didn’t work. The kitchen utensils / cookware were not enough for a large group in which the house advertises. The property itself is great. If the owners put a little love into the essentials, and the property management checked on the cleaning crew, this house could be perfect.
There is also a large gap on the top deck which is dangerous if you have small children.

This property is prime location, the cabin is great and could sleep 10 people. The only problem we had was the week we were there the smoke from the fire was so bad we were limited to our time out doors. The other issue with this house was there were no large frying pans to cook breakfast. I feel if your able to house 10-13 people how can you cook for them with a tiny frying pan. Also there was no hair dryer. I called Vasca costumer service and asked for the two items and she texted me back that this house does not offer these two. I felt they are such simple things to fix.

A perfect home for a large family! The lakefront location was perfect, with a beautiful dock and boat slip. The house was clean and neat and well stocked. The only reason I’m not giving five stars is Because there was a window shade completely missing from a very large bedroom window that gets the morning sun. It was so bright in the morning in that room. Impossible to sleep in and that’s what our kids wanted to do on their vacation! Hopefully the owners have one on order!

We celebrated our 50th anniversary with our 2 married children and their spouses and 6 grandkids!
We have gone to Dinner Lake for years, but this is the first time we stayed on the lake, in a “protected” cove. The house was roomy, yet cozy and the dock and double pier were perfect for the kids to jump into the water and play. All the bedrooms and kitchen and dining area had beautiful lake views! We are forever spoiled by this wonderful home on the lake and will be back again!

Great house and property. Loved the place. The only suggestion is to get some pans appropriate for cooking for a group- only 2 very small pans and not enough forks. Otherwise, wonderful stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 generation family week at the Beaver Cove Lodge property. The views and the dock are exceptional. The hot tub and kayaks added to the fun vibe. We are rebooking for a return visit.

Our 3 families were perfectly suited for this spacious home with lovely dock. It was neat and clean, well stocked kitchen, plenty of space to come together and also enjoy privacy. West End Beach access was in a walkable distance. Loved sitting on deck and watching sun rise over the water. Vacasa was very attentive at getting downstairs heating thermostat turned on (one on RIGHT as opposed to left one). One terrific home, I’d rent again in a heartbeat.

Would have given it a 5 but the heater only worked well on the bottom floors. Main and upper levels stayed cold.

Great Lake House
Beautiful location with lots of space, exactly as advertised. Came here in April just after a big snowfall, the house was clean and warm and just what we needed.

Fantastic Family Lodge
From the coziness of the main room, to the ample and well-stocked bedrooms, to the hot tub, this house has it all. The view, however, is the main event. Gorgeous lake side view to admire sunrises and the mountains turn purple at the end of the day. The water looks different from hour to hour. This is a perfect place to get together with old friends and share a glass of wine.

great location and view!
This home is the best location. Easy access and great views of Donner Lake. The room layout is perfect for a group of friends. The fireplace is awesome and easy to start. It's got a big table with great lighting for jigsaw puzzles or cards. The kitchen is fairly well stocked. Nice to have 3 full baths as well. Almost every room has a lake view.

House could have been cleaner. Dirty windows and deck. Had to reset breaker for living room lights a few times.

Amazing Family Vacation
Donner Lake is my families new love. Thank you, Vacasa for making this happen!

A great week
As much as we loved the house, it was the people we spent the week with that made our trip. 72 years in a row my dad spent a week on Donner Lake during the summer. We’ve already reserved our stay for next summer.

Loved our time on Donner Lake
House was as advertised., clean and great location. Very spacious for our group 8 adults. Private dock was great. House had all the basic cooking equipment - even had a waffle maker. Small issue with ellectrical on main floor- having living room and dining room lights on at same time kept tripping the breaker. Would definitely book this house again!

The house is so spacious and welcoming and the views of the lake are unparalleled. The deck off the living room is beautiful and the deck down at the water is a fabulous bonus. We’ve already booked a return visit.

Donner Lake family gem
As part of a “guys’ getaway” (and moms’ respite), I hosted my two sons-in-law and 5 grandchildren (ages 18 months to 6&1/2 years old) for a few days of snow play, and this house was near perfect. The house is beautifully situated on Donner Lake and provides gorgeous, unobstructed views of the lake and the mountains. The house has three levels: the top level has the master suite, a separate kids’ room with bunk beds and an attached sleeping loft, access to which is via a fairly tall (around 8 feet high) wall-mounted ladder that is suitable only for an older child or teen, and a separate bathroom; the middle level contains a large living room, kitchen, dining room, bathroom, and a bedroom with two twin beds (my only complaint is that the twin bed that I slept on was on the hard side of “firm”) and a full bath; the lower level has another large bedroom, a bathroom, and a fifth bedroom with two more twin beds. The house has all the basics, so you really just need to bring food and drink. Due to the absence of any prior reviews, I was a bit apprehensive about whether the wifi would be up to snuff for my Zoom calls, my grand-daughter’s online kindergarten class, and my son-in-law’s work needs, but it worked flawlessly and provided good speed. The house is quite close to several ski and snow play areas, and downtown Truckee is 13 minutes away for restaurant pickups and the like. In sum, this house was exactly what we were looking for, and we would stay here again.

Beautiful Location!
Great Place - beautiful location. Roads are icy so make sure you have 4x4 in winter! Staff was helpful and got the hot tub running right away. Home has lots of thermostats so have fun figuring out which one is which ;)
