About this house rental
Our 4bd/2ba home is the perfect space for big families, work groups. It is in a very quiet neighborhood, and we ask that you are respectful of our neighbors by being super quiet in the daytime, as well as at night. No parties, please! Almost half an acre of sunny lawns, forest, and a seasonal creek at the end of a quiet road will greet you. The smell of plum blossom, jasmine, and bay trees will calm you, and you will have complete privacy as no cars will drive by. This place inspires peaceful solitude and is an excellent retreat for serene gatherings. (Please note that our house includes a small entirely separate In-law unit downstairs under the living room, which is not included in the Vrbo listing.)
As you drive up our driveway to the end of the road, our home is on your right side. You walk up 15 stairs to our long outdoor deck, which allows you to bring the outside in.
There is a little separate building at the end of the driveway. It is just for our storage use.
As you enter the house, you will see a stone fireplace right in front of you, the great room has old natural pine paneled walls, an open floor plan, and mostly hardwood and tile floors. There are 2 comfortable coaches and a sofa close to the fireplace, a working desk and mobile chair, and another 2 coaches on the right side of the room. The dining area and newly renovated kitchen are on the left side of the fireplace.
Walk along the kitchen and you will find 4 bedrooms: one spacious bedroom with a brand new queen-sized bed (2023), one sweet trundle bed in the middle bedroom, a brand new queen-sized sofa bed in a separate room, which has bright light almost all day long, and one king-sized bed in the spacious master bedroom. Our 2 newly renovated full baths (2023) and 4 bedrooms are all on one level for easy accessibility (note there are 15 stairs from the parking area up to our front door). There is a very quiet in-law unit below the living room. Please keep the area in the living room, dining room, and kitchen quiet between 10 PM and 7 AM as a courtesy to the unit below.
We have parking for 1 car at the top of the driveway to the right and another space in the carport right next to it. No street parking as all the spaces there is private property.
This is a quiet area with no streetlights, so star gazing is excellent. Wildlife abounds and sightings of deer, raccoon, coyotes, and raptors are common.
Stroll in our backyard, discover the path to our sacred temple and access the incredible open space adjoining the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

The ad is correct, it is quiet and serene. Located conveniently near Muir Woods, Golden Gate, Bridge, and downtown San Francisco. Quiet evenings outside on the back deck are very nice, lots of wildlife, a local grey longhair cat, and a family of deer visit every night and meander through unalarmec only 20 feet away. Very cool.

I shall be honest. We've stayed in individual's homes/houses in Colorado, Europe, and South America, etc. in the past and felt they were the quality of our home. Maybe we are spoiled For the price we paid I expected something better. We made it work and had fun. We have a very wonderful family. Tara and Rob were very attentive.

We had a very pleasant stay in this property. We were there to run the Miwok 100k race which starts in Stinson Beach, and location was perfect for us. The house has a very nice and large living area which is perfect for relaxing, and it is nested in the woods, which is very nice and quiet.

This is a warm and comfortable home to use as a base to explore SF, Sausalito, the Muir Redwood Forest and the gorgeous Marin coastline. The hosts were amazing. My daughter was married in Mill Valley this weekend and family from the east coast came. Eight of us stayed in the four double bedrooms and shared all our time in the spacious yet cozy main room. We were minutes to Muir Woods and beach and also wine tasting as well as the wonderful wedding. This location showed our east coast relatives some of the best adventures in California !! Would definitely come to this friendly home again!!!

I can’t say enough about Tara. She is super responsive and acts on any question or request in minutes! The house is so comfortable and the living area is nicely set up for chatting in front of the fireplace. You see trees out every window and the property is very private. There is a tenant downstairs that is very friendly and quiet. And you are only minutes from restaurants and a great supermarket. Hiking is very close and only about 10 minutes from Muir Woods.

My family and I stayed here while I had an elopement. The listing was not very accurate as the home is NOT newly renovated. The microwave didn’t work, one of the toilets only flushed 50% of the time, the gas stoves struggled to light, and the ac did not work. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable and there is a tree that has begun to uproot in the driveway that makes it difficult to get up and down safely. There were minimal outlets and the host has multiple appliances plugged into one outlet which was causing them to all not work very well. It is a nice neighborhood but if your group makes any noise whatsoever I wouldn’t suggest staying here. Neighbors made noise complaints for us playing a card game outside at 2pm on a Saturday. We were all in bed by 9pm and somehow still made too much noise so the 10pm-7am quiet hours is a lie they actually expect silence 24/7. None of these would’ve been big issues except the price point is not reflected in the quality of the property.

Magical hideaway perfect for our taste, quiet, unassuming charm, away from hustle bustle areas but within minutes of San Fran Sausalito and other areas. Endless walks, wild turkeys, wild berries and plums. Amazing hosts quickly responding to communication, will definitely come back.

My friends and I were able to relax, make great meals, and catch up with each other in what we came to call our Magic Treehouse. Good beds, interesting books and objects, very peaceful and healthful place. Good fireplace! Well lit by nature in daytime and lamps at night. These hosts have thought of everything we might need. The peace and quiet cannot be beat at this eclectic home. The furniture and beds are comfortable and the kitchen is adequate. If you are looking for a corporate hotel ambience this is NOT the place for you. If you would like to see deer in the yard every day and not hear a freeway outside your bedroom window, this is it.

Magical Place.
I loved staying is Tasha and Rob's adorable house. It was comfortable, and clean. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck surrounded by trees, the hanging crystals reflecting rainbows everywhere.

Mill Valley House
Cozy living room with fire in fireplace. Rustic and funky in some ways, but very comfortable. Deck and deck furniture were covered with fallen leaves and dust. Had to sweep it up so we weren’t tracking leaf litter into house. There were 6 adults and a 14 month old.

Perfect location minutes to everything
We loved the location of this property so our family could enjoy the best parts of the city and the Redwood Forest in just a short drive. The cabin was nice but not what the pictures indicate as to privacy. Parking was also an issue. The cleanliness was average. The owners were easy to communicate with and the check in and check out prices were simple.

Disappointing
Disappointing. The house is quite rustic... it was clean, but everything is OLD. Too much of owner’s belongings and clothing in the house. The photos make this place look so much better than it is. The beds were so hard - quite uncomfortable, so we chose to depart a day early (owner did refund us for one night). The owners were good at communication, but they need to do a lot of work to make this place a decent vacation home.

The location is wonderful
The location is great. The appliances work well. Good water pressure. The linens are adequate, as are the kitchen utensils et al. There is a person that lives below and they bump around occasionally in the evening. If I’d known that someone was living below, I may have made different plans. The carport has bicycles but they are not in useful working condition. It would have been wonderful to use them. There is a table in the front yard (?) and another out building that appears a bit dusty, an umbrella in the front area living on the ground. There were plastic chairs to sit in outside, but they were not clean, leaves and dirt in the seats. The outside feels neglected . The location is delightful, close to Muir Woods, Marin Headlands, and Point Reyes. Covid has changed the landscape of Sausalito and I would not go back there. A little attention to detail and this home would be a 5, but alas I can only give it a 3.5.

Peaceful retreat
This is a spacious home in a peaceful location. It is quiet, surrounded by trees, birds, and flowers, and yet close to everything. The home is very spacious, with lots of places to spread out. There is a deck on the front of the house that is a great spot for morning coffee. The beds were comfortable. Communication with the owner was excellent, very timely and responsive. This is a house that feels "lived in." It has a bit of a rustic quality to it, although everything works well and as it should. There is no coffee maker but there is a french press and a Zojirushi water boiler that worked like a charm. Also, no TV, but great wi-fi if you want to stream on your own device. Close to Mill Valley, Muir Woods, 101, etc. There are good casual restaurants very close by, including Pizza Hacker and Hook Fish Co., and it's a short drive to many others in Mill Valley, Corte Madera, etc. We would definitely return.

60th Birthday Weekend Celebration
My aunt & I planned a little getaway for my moms 60th birthday celebration and she was over the moon! The property was very conveniently located and the hosts were accommodating and quick to respond. The only thing we would suggest is a more thorough cleaning. The house has stunning views with lots of natural light but the windows were extremely dirty. Other than that, we were happy with our stay!
