Modern yet elegant; spacious yet comfortable; the Hydrangea House is a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom, 4000 sq. ft. lakefront home on deep water with 180-degree lake views, fenced in back yard, and spectacular garden areas offering nearly year-round blooms! Recently renovated including a very well appointed chef's kitchen and new furnishings, the Hydrangea House sleeps 12 and is perfect for two families or one large family to enjoy all that Lake Norman and the Mooresville area have to offer. This home features large, open concept entertaining areas both upstairs and downstairs with 10-foot ceilings throughout offering lake views from almost every room. The outdoor space is professionally designed and landscaped offering tremendous blooms. The blue hydrangeas--the best on the lake!--showcase this home's unique features and bring beauty to the property.
Hydrangea House is located on a wide, deep, calm water cove. Perfect for swimming, kayaking, and all water sports. Direct quick access to the main channel with no low bridges to contend with. The location is perfect for beautiful sunset toasts on the dock or take your boat to the end of the cove for arguably the best sunset view in North Carolina. Or, if you want to take a quick stroll, access the county park down the street for all sorts of family hiking and picnics.
Located off Brawley School Road on the peninsula, Hydrangea House is very close to Mooresville shopping, dining, and conveniences without having to sit in brutal traffic on route 150. This home is located on a quiet street within an established, upscale, wooded neighborhood. Enjoy bike riding, walks, or a morning run through the neighborhood without much traffic (25 MPH speed limit).
The modern kitchen boasts professional Wolf gas cooktop, Subzero fridge, 48-bottle wine cooler, plenty of cabinet and meal preparation space, brand new cookware, and just about anything else a family would need from the Keurig coffee maker to the Crock pot and Nutribullet. The kitchen bar seats four comfortably while the adjacent dining room seats up to eight. Step outside the kitchen door to the natural gas stainless steel grill (no last minute propane fill ups needed) and multi-level deck overlooking Lake Norman. The outdoor dining area is perfect for the whole family for any meal.
The adjoining living room, with 12-foot ceilings, features amazing panoramic lake views at any time of year, 65” smart TV, sound system, and fireplace. The fenced in backyard and fire pit will be an evening hit to relive the glory days and roast s’mores. Bring your boat and jet skis (there is a huge boat ramp in the neighborhood) then dock at Hydrangea House for the duration of your stay. Rent a boat or jet skis from one of the local marinas, they’ll deliver right to Hydrangea House (we can make recommendations). 2 Kayaks, 2 paddle boards, Lily Pad floating mat (kids love it!) and other water toys and yard games are included for guests to use. The dock is located in a no wake zone and is great for swimming, with ladder access from the water. You can also get to many waterfront restaurants and islands on the lake within a 10-20 minute boat ride.

Family from 3 states gathered for fun on the lake. The house is beautiful and well maintained. Kitchen is well equipped. Kayaks and paddle boards are in great shape. Landscaping is very pretty. All in all, a lovely home. The only challenge we had was trying to have dinner together. The house is listed as sleeping 12. We had 7 adults plus a toddler. With 2 “dinner guest” family members (who stayed elsewhere).you can’t put 9 in either the dining room or at the outside table. We improvised and managed fine but just good to know if you’re really going to have a full house.

This spacious lake house was very clean and has 2 wonderful family/living areas. Loved the outdoor spaces and spent most of our time on the dock fishing and kayaking with the available kayaks.

My family and I were looking for the ultimate vacation home on the lake that we could really unwind from our bustling city life and not have to leave. The hydrangea house was exactly what I envisioned a beautiful lake home to be. The description, views and photos portray the home accurately. It’s a great layout and gives everyone their own space. The location was ideal, not too remote from shops and the interstate. We enjoyed every minute at the house even on rainy days we escaped to the game room and had plenty of entertainment. If you’re looking for the perfect getaway home to relax and enjoy the lake this is it!

We had a fantastic experience during our multi-generational gathering at this lovely home. The property was immaculately clean, requiring us only to stock up on groceries. Conveniently located near Publix, Target, and Sam’s Club, it made our shopping trips hassle-free. Our family members traveled from four different states, and the nearby airport was a great convenience for all. Despite one of my daughters having to work, she was able to set up her office in the house and had everything she needed.
We enjoyed picturesque morning walks in the beautiful neighborhood, where friendly neighbors and deer greeted us. Most of our days were spent on the lake, using the kayaks and tubes for relaxation. Evenings were filled with cozy campfires and delicious s’mores. Our 8-night stay was absolutely perfect, and we are already looking forward to returning in the future.

The house was amazing. From the fully stocked kitchen to the spacious rooms, the fenced in yard was great for our dogs, and the quiet cove and large dock provided a fun spot for the kids to play in the water. We really enjoyed our stay at this home and would definitely come back.

Our entire stay was great! The house and lake views are beautiful with a wonderful gated backyard, which was a big plus with kids. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies and spices. The property manager was very quick to respond before and during the trip when any questions came up. Would definitely stay again!

Kathleen’s home is stunning, extremely comfortable, and all around accommodating! We loved every minute, even enjoying this lovely house with a home cooked breakfast & DoorDash dinner! The grounds are beautiful and Kathleen is meticulous. Very pet friendly — our pups loved this home from the moment we arrived and felt immediately at ease. Our picky teen adored this home and felt comfortable in every room. Kathleen keeps everything you could need well stocked. Beds were comfy, rooms clean and home smelled fresh and welcoming!

Had a lovely stay in Lake Norman. Kathleen and Matt were wonderful hosts and ensured that we had everything we needed to ensure our extended stay in their lovely home. Waterfront location is perfect and there was plenty of room in the house. Nice big deck and plenty of water toys to enjoy- stand up paddle boards and kayaks. Lovely quiet neighborhood and great locations to parks, restaurants and day trips.

Perfect spot for siblings to meet coming from Florida, Michigan and Ohio. The house was great. Very comfortable and beautiful location. Very peaceful spot but easy to access the rest of the lake. Lots of toys available for kids and adults. Took use of the paddle boards and kayaks. Also rented a boat and was able to dock at the house. Definitely will be back for our next family vacation!

Everything about this house was wonderful. Great location, pretty private and quiet part of the lake. We kayaked and did the stand up board every morning, a great way to start the day! We played games in the game room and had movie night, enjoyed the pretty scenery and overall had a wonderful stay.
Kathleen was very helpful and responsive and left a wonderful guide for us for things in the area.

This lovely home was decorated with holiday lights and Christmas trees and made our family get together very special! The entire house was immaculate, up to date, and had absolutely every convenience you would need. Three of our adult children and their spouses all needed great internet for various work issues, and they had that- we enjoyed ping pong tourneys, games of mahjong, and new year’s football. Some enjoyed fishing off the boat dock, and my husband caught six bass- beautiful lake view! Also took in a Charlotte hornets basketball game one night in the city. Wonderful hospitality and great communication- couldn’t ask for a better week between Christmas and new year’s for family bonding!

We stayed for six days in July. Clean property, beautiful spot, matches the photos if not better. We rented a pontoon boat for the week to explore the great lake, which we would do again. The downstairs is fantastic, great TV, super comfortable and fun too.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Hydrangea House. The yard is fully fenced and beautifully maintained. We brought our dog and he could easily get out of the water by the stone steps built into the shore wall. All of the water toys that you could want were provided and the cove was quiet throughout our stay. We took the host’s recommendation on using Lake Effects for a boat rental and they couldn’t have been nicer folks to deal. We look forward to coming back in the future.

Beautiful property
This is our second time renting the Hydrangea House. We love it here! The location is great: the house is close to local restaurants and grocery stores, but it's location on the water is perfect too because it's close to our favorite sandy beach and the cove setting makes it nice for kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming off the dock. The inside is lovely with great views and an open concept. Plenty of space for our group of 7. The kids adore the bunk room and the other bedrooms are large and comfortable. The owners Matt & Kathleen are great to work with and were available if we needed them. We highly recommend the Hydrangea House!

4th of July
We stayed 4th of July week. We were a family of 10 with dogs from FL. Our kids ranged from 4-15. Everyone had a great time. The kids loved the paddle boards and the kayaks. We rented a boat for two days and went tubing. The area was great with areas that had less boat traffic to have the little kids able to go on with an adult. On the 3rd one of the neighbors had a great firework show. We were able to sit on the deck and watch with the kids. We were able to see many other fireworks on the 4th. The views were breath taking from every room. The house was beautiful and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Our kids did not want to leave. Everything we needed was within a 10 minute drive. We had planned to do other things out of the house but no one wanted to leave and we stayed at the house. The kids loved the play room and spent many hours playing the games. We had the best vacation. Thank you!

Beautiful house with lots of great amenities
This home was just perfect. It was my family of 5, my sister-in-laws family of 4, and my mother-in-law that stayed (all in town for a family wedding). Great, quiet location; situated in a cove on Lake Norman, absolutely perfect for paddle boarding and kayaking. Dock right out the backyard (my brother-in-law getting married even brought his boat over during our stay). Everything was as described. Beautiful decor. Loved the game room downstairs. Puzzles/games also for family to use. TVs great with Netflix in each room. Loved the rain showers in the master bath. Multiple decks/doors to outside was Fantastic! Fenced in yard was great for our dog. I think we utilized literally every aspect of the house while we were there, and it was lovely. Grill, nice picnic table on second floor deck right outside kitchen/living area. We went fishing off the dock, played in the water every day…. Fabulous stay and would definitely consider staying there again as my brother in law is only an 8 min boat ride from the house on same side as lake Norman

Hydrangea House
Fantastic property! The deep water cove was quite and dock was easy to tie off boat and wave runner. Swimming and floating off of the dock was also fantastic as that part of the cove doesn’t see much traffic. House was beautiful and well appointed. Lots of gathering space for family. Will definitely be returning to this house in the future.

Outstanding!
Everything about the Hydrangea House was perfect! Clean, spacious, location (excellent cove and close to boat launch), landscaping, furniture and dock all were wonderful. The Pop-a-Shot basketball game was a big hit with my competitive family. 😃 Little things also really added to our great vacation such as - sharp knives, upscale pots in the kitchen, upscale appliances and labels on the light switches. Communication with the rental agent was perfect as well, Kathleen always responded to my emails very professionally and quickly. The Hydrangea House deserves 10 stars!

My sister and I rented this property so that our families could spend time together after the holidays. We had a a amazing time at the Hydrangea House! The house was open, welcoming, wonderfully clean, beautifully appointed, and perfectly set up. We enjoyed the well equipped kitchen, extra Refigerator and ice maker. The kids/teens loved having the bunk room and ping pong/pop a shot. We also appreciated them welcoming our small dog. Management was wonderful to interact with and responsive. We will definitely be back! Thank you for making our time together memorable.

Marvelous Magnolia House!
Great location! Described perfectly! Loved the separate living rooms for those have extended families! The second kitchen area in the laundry room was a huge plus! Decorated tastefully for Christmas was such a nice bonus. The owners reached out multiple times to be assured we had what we needed and responded promptly when we had questions! My last Christmas brought me Covid, Cancer , and Chemo! This was a year of celebration! We were able to bring family together! We would love to come back in the summer and enjoy the lake activities!

Wonderful Thanksgiving getaway
This house is absolutely beautiful! By far one of my favorite homes we have rented! It was extremely clean as well. The views are stunning all around. We were very comfortable and the floor plan was perfect for us as we were a family of 3 couples and 1 toddler. We spent Thanksgiving week at the house and it will be a trip for us to remember! I highly recommend the home and communication with Kathleen was super easy. Also, thought the welcome wine, card, chocolate and festive napkins were a really nice touch! We would love to return to Hydrangea house again in the future! Thanks for having us!

Great fall family getaway!
Amazing, comfortable home in a great location on the lake. Check-in was super easy and the home was very clean, which was much appreciated after a 7-hr drive, and the view is excellent! We've vacationed at LKN a few times now in the spring, summer, and now fall. Autumn is such an under-rated time to visit. The scenery on the lake was amazing with the leaves changing and the water was still fairly warm, we used the kayaks and paddle boards a lot. We brought our boat and docked right at the house. The ramp nearby made launching it easy. We like staying on the Brawley peninsula as it's centrally located to shops. The house had everything we needed for a 3-generation family vacation and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook large meals. The kids enjoyed the games (thank you!) and the adults had plenty of space to relax. WiFi worked well for work video calls. Some homes we've stayed at were underwhelming upon arrival as it became obvious the photos were photoshopped quite a bit. This house was exactly what we were expecting, and then some. Looking forward to coming back in summer 2022!

Amazing Family Vacation House
Our most recent stay in August was our second vacation on LKN at the hydrangea house. The house is in a great location, on a quiet cove, and had every accommodation inside and out - from a fully stocked kitchen to outdoor toys (kayaks, SUP, lilly pad, fire pit, etc.). The kids (18 mo - 10 years of age) had a wonderful time, as did the results (35 - 65 years of age). Plenty of space for our family of 10 to spread out and enjoy LKN life for a full week. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful home with us twice this summer!

Great place for a relaxing getaway
We really enjoyed our weeklong stay at the house. It is clean and well appointed and the set up with two bedrooms upstairs and two bedrooms and a huge family room downstairs was perfect for our teens. The cove is pretty and quiet. We especially loved the dock and made great use of the kayaks and paddle boards.
