About this house rental
••SUMMER STAYS (June-August) 3 night stay minimum. Hops, Grapes & Lakes is an updated 1890's farm house, known as the Moses Home, that sits across from Cayuga Lake. Nestled in the Finger Lakes Region, we are located near the Del Lago Casino, Outlet Mall, Wine Trails, Cheese Trail, Breweries, Historical Sites, Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge, Cayuga Lake State Park with a beach and boat launch. 40 miles from Watkins Glen (Watkins Glen International) or Canandaigua (Bristol Mountain Ski Resort, 35 miles from Ithaca, NY, and an hour from either Syracuse or Rochester Airports.
It is the perfect place for a family or group getaway. 5 bedrooms- 4 with queen beds and 1 with a king bed. 1 bedroom is on the main floor while the other 4 are upstairs. Dining room with large antique expandable table to seat 12 as well as an island in kitchen with 4 barstools. Plenty of room to throw down an air mattress for the kids.
Front porch faces Cayuga Lake, perfect for drinking your morning coffee and watching the beautiful sunrise. 4 season side porch with pub table to play cards or extra space to dine.
Kitchen has everything you need for your stay. Pots, Pans, Cooking and Eating Utensils, Plates and Glasses, Keurig and regular Coffee Maker. Washer and Dryer are in utility room. We like to recycle cans, glass, and cardboard so there are bins in the utility room for you to place those items in.
There is a fire pit for your use as long as it is used responsibly. (check for any no burn ordinances due to wind or dryness). We have 10 bag chairs that may be used, wire sticks for roasting hot dogs or marshmallows. There is a gas grill available. Large octagon picnic table with umbrella in side yard near grill. Please remember to be considerate of neighbors in the later evening hours.
Front porch faces the lake with a porch swing, two rocking chairs, a bistro set and additional plastic lawn chairs. There are two adirondack chairs and a small table in the yard, to overlook the lake.
There are great restaurants in Seneca Falls, as well as in nearby quaint towns. The state park is less than a mile down the road, with a playground, small beach area, and boat launch. If you are bringing a boat, there is room to park the trailer in front of the garage. Parking spaces for 4 cars near the house, without having to shuffle them around. Additional parking in front of the garage by the street.

Susie and Steve have an amazing house and were great hosts! Plenty of room for a family vacation. Susie was very responsive to any questions we had. House had everything we needed and more! Porch was perfect for morning coffee and hanging with the family. Quiet street with not a lot of traffic was perfect for the short walk to Cayuga Lake State Park. Highly recommend!

It is a big, comfortable house, and our group enjoyed our stay. The kids really enjoyed running around the big front yard with a tree swing and a view of the lake.
The only drawback is that the host didn't provide some of the things we've come to expect for a long weekend. Each bathroom had a single roll of toilet paper, no extra garbage bags, no soap in the showers, and no olive oil in the kitchen.

The house, and the location were perfect. Being our 3rd time to the Finger Lakes, this was the best loction as it was in close proximity to many attractions not only for adults but for the kids as well. The house was beautiful, clean, and full of charm.

We had a great weekend with our family from Michigan to Maine. The house was perfect for our needs and location was great. The hosts made it very easy to check in and communicated with me well to coordinate our trip. The house was great and had everything we needed to feel at home during our stay.

The owners were great communicators and their VRBO home allowed us to have an enjoyable family vacation. There were plenty of rooms, a nice porch to enjoy the view of Cayuga Lake, and the location was close enough for some fun day trips to Ithaca and Geneva. Great character in this home and a fun place for a relaxing family vacation!

We rented this beautiful home for a 70th birthday party for a twin sister and brother. 8 people stayed for the long weekend and 5 more joined for lunch to celebrate. Everything was perfect! The layout is such that everyone could find a place to sit and chat, share a glass of wine, or enjoy the beautiful lake view from the porch. The house is very convenient to so many interesting places to visit that are within 10-20 minutes. That, of course is only if you can tear yourselves away from the house!! Beds are comfy, furniture is too…. Bathrooms are spacious… it was just Spectacular. Thanks so much for letting us rent it! We’ll be back!

Great house! 5 beds plenty of Space for teenagers. We had a great time celebrating my husbands 53rd birthday. Went to the park down the road to out in our kayaks twice. Rented a pontoon boat in Seneca Lake for the day-20 minutes away. And did a lot of reading and relaxing on the front porch. Kitchen was well stocked and we used the puzzles they had. Never turned in the TV. It was a great long weekend stay. Thank you for letting us use your beautiful home!

The front porch was an awesome area, comfortable …we played guitars one evening on the porch, went boating, visited wineries, saw dozens of waterfalls, hiked…was just what we were looking for in a summer vacation!!

This was perfect for our family summer week together (5 adults and 3 children). The house was very comfortable and roomy for everyone. The location was central to our activities, which included wine and cheese tastings, the Sciencenter in Ithaca (excellent for kids!), a boat tour, bird watching, waterfalls, great food and drink, and the beach and playground just a half mile down the road.

WOW! Just - WOW! This home and location were fantastic! We were more than surprised by the size of this home (the pictures simply do not do it justice).
This home and property were very well maintained. It had everything that you needed for a week’s stay. The bedrooms were much bigger than we thought, the living room was huge, the dining room was just as impressive, and the butler’s pantry & kitchen were perfect. There was plenty of room for 10 adults. The best feature of this home was the massive front porch. For our group, we spent a lot of the time , when we were home, on the front porch which had a beautiful view of Lake Cayuga. The location was perfect and getting to and from the home after visiting a winery (there were A LOT), a restaurant, or a hike was easy.
We weren’t staying in a house but rather a home. It was very inviting and had a familiar feeling. I had a chance to talk to both Susie and Steve and they were really friendly, nice, and gracious.
If you want THE PERFECT home to stay in while visiting the Finger Lakes area, do yourself a favor and book this home.
Our group cannot wait to go back again!

The house was beautiful and perfect for our needs. Our daughter graduated from Wells College that weekend. We were able to host a small luncheon after the graduation ceremony. The proximity of the house to the college, stores, wine/cheese venues, the lake, diners and eateries was perfect! Beds were very comfortable! Coffee bar was perfect and so was sitting on the front porch with my coffee, watching the sunrise! I would definitely stay again!!

The house was more than I expected, large, very clean, easy access and good communication with the owner. This is a trip that five girls have done every fall for the past 17 years, going to a different location every year. Our trip to Seneca Falls was wonderful and provided us with lovely memories to enjoy for many years to come. The house is exactly as listed, very spacious and relaxing. The location of the property was perfect; We had beautiful views of Lake Cayuga, and the most peaceful mornings on the porch to start the days. There was plenty of room to accommodate out party of 10, and everyone had the best time. Can’t wait to visit this property again!

This was a great property for a weekend getaway. The house is massive and is a great deal for the price. All of the rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The porch was our favorite part. We could sit on the porch swing or rocking chairs and watch the sunrise.

Furniture, Air Conditioners and overall condition
We enjoyed the area. House furniture in the living room consists of an old worn out sectional sofa. With 5 bedrooms we had 7 adults and two young children. The living room is large enough for furniture, but only had a sectional sofa. All found the sagging section uncomfortable to sit on for long. Chairs in dining room are also in very poor condition along with dining room table. Same problem with spending time together, chairs and bench too hard and worn out to stay seated in for any length of time. The glass cabinet in the dining room has heavy items on top. A large candle opera, metal art on top of cabinet and 3 canisters of marbles inside on the top shelf This made it unstable and dangerous for our 4 and 1 1/2 year olds. We moved it into another area and turned it around to protect them from the glass and tipsy cabinet. Wiped a spill off the dining room floor and the towel was black with filth. Air conditioners in windows did not keep the house comfortable and if you are not used to window units the are very loud compared to whole house air conditioning. In the home owner’s manual it describes a sticking door to the laundry room the keeps mice out. How about just fixing the door and mice issue? Also peeling paint (lead?) on the laundry door and on the front porch. A loose board with nails sticking out of it above your head on the front porch pillar. Bench in side room entrance where you put your shoes would tip over if you sat near either end. As this is our first experience with VRBO it will likely be our last. Properties in this poor condition apparently are not regulated. Overpriced for condition of furniture. We would share pictures if there was a way to upload.
