The Dinner and breakfast were fine, not outstanding but adequate. The staff were friendly and efficient.
The bed was too small, too many levels in the room. The bathroom/shower were clean but no chance of taking a shower unless you kneeled in the bath! No shower rail and a sloping roof which meant I had to kneel. The toilet roll holder was barely secured to the wall! The chair under the desk would not allow you to sit in the chair and have your legs under the table.
The place was looking tired and in severe need of some TLC. Carpet was stained and needed replacing.
For 1 night away the whole check in procedure was totally over the top. Booking.com sent so many messages asking me to check in and when it got to asking me to provide Driving Licence ID and numbers I just left it. Im not sure there isn't some hacking going on there???

The location in Barnard Castle was fine, but the details do not tell you that the Inn is directly opposite a huge GSK pharmaceuticals factory.
There was no hot water in our room until 11.00pm - we were told it was "on a timer and couldn't be altered". The shower and bathroom generally were basic and made worse by no hot water. As we walked we were told that there would be no meals on Sunday evening and we would have to go to the local Pizzeria. Our Saturday evening meals were appalling, took well over an hour to arrive and were seriously undercooked (both chicken) and there fore not safe to eat. There were no fresh vegetables on the menu, and the mixed veg I ordered were not defrosted in the middle. We left after one night although we had booked for 3 nights. The young staff did their best but could not answer any of our questions and said they could not contact the owners who were " in the south somewhere". Despite trying, Booking.Com have been unable to get hold of the owner and a solicitor's letter follows. This place was more expensive than the excellent King's Head Hotel in Richmond where we took refuge.

Good facilities, very comfy beds, friendly staff

The staff were friendly & the service was good. The humungous breakfast was excellent.
The room was clean & acceptable, but the decor, fixtures & fittings were all a little tired. The bathroom had no soap dish, no towel rail & the hooks on the door just fell off when you hung anything on them!
4.1
Very fun and friendly staff.
Everything was good.

The breakfast was good. The location was convenient and very acceptable. Generally the accommodation was very comfortable and pleasant.
The TV channels were limited. The tea/coffee hadn't been replenished and lacked milk and biscuits.

Location is a short walk into town, plenty of parking.
Very friendly staff.
Some facilities need a bit of updating.

Staff were very friendly and helpful
Beds were not very comfortable and breakfast not very hot

Being told no food available on arrival and bar closing early
4.1
The location was as expected, the room was pleasant, and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
I was very disappointed that the bar was closed at 18.30pm as the nearest alternative place would mean driving to get there. The alternative to this was buying drink from a supermarket in the town and going back to the room. The bar did not have any cider in cans or bottles because they were waiting for deliveries

As usual it was clean and tidy, the staff are so lovely, it's ideal if you want a relaxing few day's
They could do with a bell on reception, so staff know your there

Booked the hotel as we were attending a wedding at the nearby Runa Farm. The hotel was a good location, only a 5 minute taxi ride from Runa Farm.
The food in the pub was lovely and the breakfast was nice too
Room quite basic but as we weren’t spending much time in the room this was okay. Some parts of the hotel need redecorated and some gloss was coming off the banister
4.1
Location and bar was good and staff were all friendly and helpful
Three quarter bed was too small for couples so the sleep was disturbed
4.1
Breakfast eggs and bacon were superbly cited and presented.
Everything was super clean.
Although on the small side, the bed was very comfortable.
Bathroom arrangement could be better. Not able to stand in the shower and no screen or curtain meant crouching and a wet floor. Fittings such as missing door lock, broken clothing hook and toilet roll holder were a little disappointing. Bed was small but it isn't a big room.
4.1
Nice location on the outskirts of town. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was quiet. The full breakfast was huge, and very tasty.
There was a party in full swing when we checked in, which was a wee bit off-putting. But the room was on the other side of the building and really quiet - and in any case, the music ended long before bedtime.
4.1
Easy reach of the town, good amenities both in the room and area. The fact it had a restaurant.

4.1
Nice bar area with log fire, food was good pub grub at reasonable cost along with decent parking.
First mornings breakfast was terrible , bottom of egg burnt and black pudding was more like a thick crisp as you could not cut it. Girl on duty didn't seem interested and had to ask for everything including toast that was part of the meal. Our room had not been touched by staff from the minute we arrived until we left 3 days later. Tea and coffee facilities advertised and were there on arrival but were not replenished during our stay, no biscuits either by the way. If I had not found where the missing room staff hid the tea bags and toilet rolls we wouldn't have had any, I also had to take clean cups from the bar area.
