The Cottage is sunny year round; and each room is sunlit throughout the day. You will fall in love with a picturesque, 270-degree ocean view and experience the gentle sea breezes atop our roof deck. Our large roof deck floats uninhibitedly high above the tree line for unparalleled panoramic views. Be the first to catch a sunrise over the ocean while sipping a cup of coffee or tea. At a distance, follow the sail boats tacking in the water and spot the faint beacons from the nearby lighthouses on the horizon. In the evening, wrap yourself in your favorite blanket and watch a memorable sunset. Gaze at the stars flooding the sky as nightfall deepens.
Long Sands & Short Sands beaches and the Nubble Lighthouse are all within a short 10-minute drive. Need a break from the crowds? Take advantage of the surrounding property and enjoy a 5-minute leisurely stroll to our private pebbly beach spending some quiet time on your very own secluded ocean spot. Explore nearby intimate lake, ponds, and coves through hidden garden pathways and discover birdwatching or fishing. After your outdoor activities, feel free to luxuriate in the outdoor shower. Warm and inviting, this vacation home is indoor - outdoor living at its finest.
The entry level offers two queen-sized bedrooms with a shared full bathroom, and a king-size master with en suite bathroom and walk-in shower. All bedrooms have base-board heating and brand-new, individual-temperature controlled air conditioning units. Adjoining the bedrooms, the Day Room is charming and cozy. It is a perfect place for a midday respite, puzzles & games, and reading. A new smart-TV and WiFi audio system are available for your use and entertainment. Laundry is available on site with full-size washer and dryer for your convenience.
The upper entertainment level contains a wide-open living space, a farmhouse-style dining area, a remote-controlled gas fireplace for warm ambiance in the evening, a cheerful and high-ceiling Sun Room, and a kitchen with all the essentials. Another bedroom suite with an adjoining, recently-updated full bathroom is also located on this level. The living room's sliding glass doors conveniently open onto the deck where the Weber bbq grill is waiting to be fired up.

The house is not beachfront but enjoys an amazing rooftop patio from which we see the ocean. You do not pay beachfront price, but still enjoy the ocean. The house is really nice, clean, with many large rooms with their own AC. The mattresses are incredibly comfortable. The owner, Paul, was incredible from the arrival to the departure, always helpful and available. We strongly recommend.

Paul was an attentive and excellent host. He also left us a number of delicious local treats to enjoy while we were there. The home is lovely, beautifully decorated, spacious, clean and has truly everything you need for a wonderful vacation experience. The neighborhood is great and the views of the cove are spectacular! One of our favorite daily activities was to walk 2 minutes down our road to sit on the scenic rock beach. We would love to stay at Paul's home again!

This home exceeded all expectations for our family of 8. Our host, Paul, met us on arrival and showed us everything we needed to know about his lovely vacation home. He supplied us with a generous amount of local goodies on our arrival which we appreciated. The house was very comfortable and very nicely decorated with a Maine beach feel. Loved the kitchen which was fully stocked as were the bathrooms with all the amenities.
The beds were very comfortable and the linens were great.
The water view from the living area was everyone’s favorite but we spent many hours on the rooftop patio enjoying the quiet setting, the sunrise and evening views of the local Maine coast. I highly recommend this wonderful house! And thanks Paul for being there and available when we had questions. We would definitely stay again!

We had a wonderful stay at this property. Brian was a gracious host. The quality of the amenities in the house were great. The soaps, shampoo, towels, kitchen utensils, table settings were terrific. My favorite room was the rooftop deck overlooking the ocean.

This property was one of the best we have ever rented. Paul and his wife have thought of every little detail to make this rental amazing. Paul greeted us and showed us around the house. Everything is labeled, which was very helpful. The house was spotless and furnished beautifully. There are so many different locations in the house to sit and relax. Only complaint is that I wish we could have stayed longer. The location is also perfect secluded and quiet yet close to everything. Beds are all comfortable with very nice linens. You won’t go wrong staying here we can’t wait to go back. Thank you again.

We had an amazing Memorial Day weekend at Paul's place in Cape Neddick, Maine. Paul was a fantastic host and greeted us on our arrival with a very nice gift basket. We have rented many VRBO houses and this was by far the cleanest and best decorated. The house is in a very quiet upscale residential neighborhood with a nice yard. The place is one house removed from the Atlantic ocean and has great ocean views from the first floor living area. Downstairs has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a TV/play which was an ideal space for my daughter, son in law and 2 young grandchildren. The first floor has a bedroom and en suite bathroom which was very comfortable for us. The first floor kitchen and open area is very comfortable for lounging and meals. The kitchen is well stocked with very nice cook ware and appliances. AC is more than adequate throughout. The sun room is cooled by ocean breezes and impressive windows. We really enjoyed the ocean views and relaxing patio furniture on the roof deck. We spent all of our beach time at the Cape Neddick beach which is only a couple of minutes drive and very safe for the young kids. The York beach town area is just a very short drive from Paul's place. We look forward to a return stay at Paul's place in Cape Neddick.

Paul greeted us whem we arrived and explained all the wonderful amenities. He also gave us a generous welcome basket with a bunch of goodies. We enjoyed the lovely Rooftop Terrace and we're fortunate enough to get a glimpse of the Northern Lights. The ocean is visible from several windows as well as from the rooftop Terrace. The home is immaculate with attention to the needs of the guests. I definitely would recommend this to everyone and we will look forward to going back. He was a most gracious host. Thank you!

We can not say enough about Paul and Janet’s home. We have rented homes on VRBO for years. Never have we had a home so taken care of and furnished with everything we needed

This property is a first-rate spot for a Maine shore getaway. The location is excellent, near beaches and the towns of Ogunquit and York, but also on a quiet street with little to distract from the sound of the ocean. The property is spacious with ample living space in addition to the 4 bedrooms. The host was fantastic, and explained the features of the house and how to use them. And he offered both welcome snacks and great tips for local sites. I would definitely stay at this house again!

First of all let me tell you about our host, Paul. Not only did he communicate well before check in, but the day we checked in he stayed to welcome us to the house and walked us through all of the features, all of the rooms, and gave us a wonderful and entertaining overview of the neighborhood and surrounding areas. His attention to detail could be seen from the first impression as we pulled into the drive way to each and every room in the house. We took him up on multiple suggestions on places to go and where to eat and every one was a hit out of the park. This was by far the best experience we have had in our travels and are looking forward to returning again soon. As far as the house, let me say it was by far one of the cleanest, well maintained, and best stocked house we have been to. The rooms were amazingly decorated and the rooftop deck was fantastic. We enjoyed multiple sunrises and some of the best star viewing ever. In addition to the rolling waves and short walks to the coast this is an absolute premier location to all that Maine has to offer.

We LOVED our stay at Mainely away. The house was more beautiful in person than the photos showed. There were six of us staying (3 couples) and we all had our own rooms and own bathrooms. There are four bedrooms, but we chose three bedrooms that maximized the privacy for each couple. The neighborhood was so quiet and the sound proofing of the house was perfect. There were no outside sounds and I slept the best that I have in years !
Hands down, the best feature of the house is the rooftop deck. We spent daytime and nighttime hours up there. It was always so serene and quiet. There was no light pollution so we saw the stars very clearly. We were also able to see an amazing moonrise on our last night. It was spectacular.
The house is situated between Portsmouth/Kittery and Portland. We explored all of these cities as well as coastal towns.
We loved, loved, loved our stay. You should definitely consider this house if you plan on staying in the area. It is a gem !

The property has beautiful views of the ocean, is immaculate and well maintained. We were welcomed with clear instructions about our stay and a beautiful basket of snacks and drinks to refresh us after long travel! We enjoyed playing games at the long table, the outdoor shower after a day at the beach, and nights staring up at the stars on the rooftop patio. It was a very peaceful week . Sad to leave but hope to come back again soon to the beautiful coast of Maine.

We really enjoyed our week at this home. This home was definitely one of the most favorite rentals that we have stayed in. The owner was friendly and helpful in making us feel welcome. We loved sitting on the roof deck enjoying the ocean view and walking to the small rocky beach. The rooms were decorated beautifully and the kitchen had everything we needed. The location was perfect...just a short driving distance to all the southern Maine beach towns. We would definitely stay at this home again! It fit our family of six perfectly.

This property is immaculate both inside and outside. It has three bedrooms downstairs, one master bath and one hall bath. The master bedroom is very large with several seating areas and the two other bedrooms fit one queen bed each comfortably. Each room has ample closet and drawer space. There is a cozy and comfortable TV room with games downstairs where we set up our grandsons crib. It was perfect! Upstairs is a bedroom off the kitchen with its own bath. The kitchen was well stocked and thanks to Paul he bought a new mixer for us when we inquired if there was one in the house. All the kitchen items were in great shape, all the kitchen drawers were very clean. The living room was cozy for all 7 of us. The dining room table is right off the living space which made it a nice conversational open space. The washing machine and dryer worked well.
The location is fantastic. Quiet in an upscale beach neighborhood and close to both York and Ogunquit. We all thought the beds were comfortable and we all hope to come back next year! Paul was very communicative throughout the week and he bought me a beautiful Maine sweatshirt which fits me perfectly! This is by far the nicest rental I have booked in years.

Cape Neddick Oasis
Mainely Away was a beautiful home with so many nice touches from the owner. Upon arrival we were shown around the property and we’re welcomed with a goodie basket that the whole family enjoyed. The home was very comfortable and the rooftop, with the ocean view, was amazing. Lovely touches throughout the home included comfortable furniture and beds with toiletries in all the bathrooms. This house was so inviting and in such a nice area my family would not hesitate to vacation there again! So many great memories were made, one of the best houses we’ve stayed in!

Absolutely the Best
My family stayed at Mainely Away in late June 2022. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this property, and especially the hosts! We were traveling in from all over to hold memorial services for both my Mom & older brother, and Paul was incredibly kind and generous to all of us. The home itself is gorgeous, pristine and extremely comfortable. The location is just lovely, with an expansive ocean view from both the rooftop deck and the main living area. Every detail was included, from slippers & bathrobes to emergency lighting, full kitchen supplies and even a delightful selection of specialty teas. A very thoughtful arrival gift basket of goodies and drinks awaited, and Paul even went out of his way to provide a delicious cake, specifically to commemorate my Mom. What an incredibly thoughtful & moving gesture! Without a doubt and despite the circumstances, our stay was the absolute best VRBO experience we've ever had. We now live in Florida, but the NH/ME seacoast is my home, and the area always tugs on my soul when I return. I'm already poring over our calendar and badgering my husband to start a more frequent rotation of visits home, and I will always seek out a stay at Mainely Away. Thank You Paul & Janet!

4th of July Family Vacation
We had a wonderful time at this property. The house was very clean and spacious. The was plenty of room for my family of seven to spend time together and spend quiet time on our own. We loved walking down to the pebbly beach and viewing the ocean from the rooftop deck. We were even able to see 4th of July fireworks! Paul was very easy to contact and answered any questions we had. Highly recommend!

Truly incredible house and host in Maine!
Wow!! What is there to say about Paul and his house other than that this is the most incredible place and Paul is the most fantastic host! Pictures and words cannot do it justice (although the pictures look very nice--it's even nicer than we imagined!). The house is beautiful, immaculate, incredibly well-kept and spacious, and very comfortable! The two decks are fantastic places to relax and enjoy the fantastic views of the water (or to stargaze!). And the whole house is full of windows to let in the delightful sea breeze. The house has everything you could possibly want (from a fully-stocked kitchen with clear labels on every single drawer and cabinet so you know where everything is to beach chairs and umbrellas to lawn games and bluetooth speakers). Oh and did I mention that the location is perfect? On a quiet street with a great view but just a few minutes from Ogunquit, Perkins Cove, York Beach, and more! And Paul is the most gracious and thoughtful host! He truly thought of everything--including a delicious birthday cake for me because we were celebrating my birthday!!! He was very accomodating to everything we needed. And he was incredibly communicative with tips and suggestions before and during our stay! We truly cannot say enough good things about Paul and his house! When we got home, our son said that he missed Maine and that really, he missed the house. We miss it too!

Fabulous Family Vacation
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mainely Away. As promised, Paul met my husband and I at the property to welcome us and give us a tour. The property is beautiful and includes a rooftop deck with an amazing view. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking supplies and the cabinets and drawers are labeled so it is easy to find what you need. Our group included eight adults and there was plenty of room for us to gather together and places for us to spread out and have quiet time to ourselves. The home is situated between Ogunquit and York and our family enjoyed exploring both towns as well as taking a trip up to Portland about forty minutes away. It is obvious Paul and his wife take great pride in their home and they want their guests to feel comfortable and welcome during their stay. Our family had a wonderful trip and we highly recommend Mainely Away for your summer vacation.

Beautiful Coastal Maine Home
Mainely Away was a wonderful home for four couples. The views from the rooftop were spectacular. The walks along the Lane were even more breathtaking. Paul was quick to respond and provided a lot of helpful information before and during the trip. In fact, just days before our trip, we learned one of our friends needed access to an electric scooter. Within 15 minutes of my inquiry, Paul had arranged for a scooter to be delivered & picked-up from the house (all they had to do was provide their credit information). The scooter was waiting when we arrived. He left a welcome package with awesome snacks (which we devoured). He even provided some baking essentials so I could make our favorite pound cake which we all enjoyed for breakfast daily. He even provided helpful parking hints for the area. The house was meticulously clean. The only negative was we wished it would have had a bathroom for each bedroom but we’re good traveling friends and made it work… besides the house itself, the location and surrounding views outweighed the lack of a 4th bathroom.

Spotless charming New England home in beautiful upscale location across street from ocean.
My husband and I stayed in this immaculate newly renovated home for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Three of the bedrooms are downstairs, including the large master with a king size bed. On the second level there is a wonderful large room with beautiful views and a deck with a table and chairs to have a meal or drink or just sit and read. There is an exclusive home and the ocean across the street. The waves are large and you can enjoy the sound of them and also a short walk away you can go see them. It was a great site to see nature in action.
The kitchen is very nice with everything you need if you choose to cook some meals.
Paul left us a very thoughtful and delicious basket of treats.
He was available for anything and everything you may need.
We would have liked if the TV was more than a Smart TV but I don’t think that is much of a concern to most people. Just happened to be a time with things we were anxious to watch.
The area around the home is very charming, magnificent landscaping, great for walks and not real close to necessities, but really not too long of a drive. We went to the Cape Neddick Lobster House twice and sat on two different decks outside with very nice views on a lake. It was only 5 minutes or so from the house. Highly recommend it.
Paul is extremely thorough in describing everything you need to know and has an amazing detailed helpful list of restaurants and things to do in the area.
My husband commented that in all the Vacation͎ rentals we have stayed at that this one was the cleanest. It was clearly just renovated and in very good taste.
There are steps to go upstairs to family room, kitchen and bedroom and deck. Another winding staircase takes you to a very special spot on the roof with great views of the ocean with the awesome sounds and views of the waves and boats.
In a very lovely quiet location but minutes to so much. In between York and Ogunquit - around 10 minutes to each.
Highly recommend staying in this special home.

Wonderful house and great location
Wonderful property in a great location very close to the beach. The house has everything one needs: a well-stocked kitchen, great views, sufficient places to socialize or read quietly, and an excellent assortment of games. Our favorite room was the sunporch off the main living space as it was a great place to relax, listen to the ocean and play a few games. Paul is incredibly responsive and has thoughtfully stocked the house with many "extras" including slippers and robes for all guests.

Just lovely
Our family had a wonderful time at this beautiful home near Ogunquit. The location was perfect for us - away from the crowds in town, but so close to both Ogunquit and York. The layout of the house was great for our multi-generational family; everyone had their own space when they wanted to retreat. We made a lot of use of the roof top deck - relaxing with the ocean view, reading, playing games and just hanging out. Paul was a very attentive host - he's thought of everything! We were able to just relax and enjoy the week. We hope to return next year!

If you are looking for a spacious, well-appointed, clean and comfortable home in a quiet/private location near the ocean, this is the place for you! It is also only a short drive from the towns of York, Ogunquit, Cape Neddick and Kittery, where you’ll find beautiful beaches, awesome restaurants, outlet/boutique shops, and many other activities too numerous to mention. Our favorite parts of the home were the rooftop deck with its ocean views, sunlit rooms, and the soothing sound of the waves that could easily be heard in every room facing the ocean. We also appreciated having access to the community’s small rock beach, which was a welcome and quiet respite from busy July crowds in many of the beach towns. Paul’s home is well-stocked with everything you’ll need, including items necessary for your trip to the beach. We sincerely appreciated Paul’s outstanding communication, warm hospitality (which included a welcome basket with all kinds of goodies!), and guidance on everything home/area related. We have vacationed in the Ogunquit/Perkins Cove area for nearly 25 years, and would highly recommend you treat yourself to this beautiful, peaceful, and perfect Maine getaway!

My friends and I had an wonderful stay. Paul was a great host. Excellent communication. He met us at the house when we were checking in. The house is located in a beautiful, coastal neighborhood between Ogunquit and Short Sand beach in York. The house was very clean. The rooftop deck is a great space to entertain. Central A/C was nice on a few hot days. Beds were very comfortable. Will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a house rental in York/Ogunquit area.

A Perfect Southern Maine Vacation!
If you are looking for a spacious, well-appointed, clean and comfortable home in a quiet/private location near the ocean, this is the place for you! It is also only a short drive from the towns of York, Ogunquit, Cape Neddick and Kittery, where you’ll find beautiful beaches, awesome restaurants, outlet/boutique shops, and many other activities too numerous to mention. Our favorite parts of the home were the rooftop deck with its ocean views, sunlit rooms, and the soothing sound of the waves that could easily be heard in every room facing the ocean. We also appreciated having access to the community’s small rock beach, which was a welcome and quiet respite from busy July crowds in many of the beach towns.
Paul’s home is well-stocked with everything you’ll need, including items necessary for your trip to the beach. We sincerely appreciated Paul’s outstanding communication, warm hospitality (which included a welcome basket with all kinds of goodies!), and guidance on everything home/area related. We have vacationed in the Ogunquit/Perkins Cove area for nearly 25 years, and would highly recommend you treat yourself to this beautiful, peaceful, and perfect Maine getaway!

This property is in a quiet neighborhood far enough away from everything to have no traffic of its own, but near enough to the bustle of York Beach and Ogunquit that you can be at either in no time. Also close to slightly further afield areas like the Kennebunks and Portland. Very friendly host. And the roof deck is a great feature: steady breeze and the ever-present sound of the soothing ocean waves. There are several other areas well-designed for congregating too (but when anyone in my party needed to find me, they quickly learned the first place to check was the roof.)

Peace, beauty and kindness
My parents and I had a wonderful time ! Paul, our warm, welcoming and helpful host made our visit extra special. In addition to a lovely, well appointed home with comfortable beds, soothing colors and wonderful views, Paul has thought of everything to make this property wonderful. We would definitely return again and would recommend to anyone wanting a memorable stay. Everything worked just right ! The location is great and the house is fully stocked and very well organized. We are grateful to our hosts for their generosity and thoughtfulness. If you can - stay here!!
