This property more than exceeded our expectations. It was a fabulous cottage with lots of character which had us saying "wow" the moment we walked through the door. It was immaculately clean, which is no mean feat given the decor, and lots of provisions to ensure that you could have breakfast, as well as a welcome bottle of wine. The little notes everywhere to give you hints on how things work or where to find things was great. We also loved having a fireplace and we lit the fire both nights, especially since it was cold at night. Loved the place.

Fantastic location, wonderful breakfast provisions, beautiful cottage. Pet friendly and full of hidden treasures. Loved our stay!

The cottage matched its description perfectly, adorned with nicknacks on every surface and corner.
We appreciated the generous supply of firewood provided.
We opting to dine outside as it was more convenient than clearing the dining room table and moving things around.
The beds were comfortable, and though we didn't use the breakfast provisions (eggs, milk, yogurt, fruit), we would have enjoyed cooking if some bacon and/or tomatoes were included. The complimentary bottle of wine added a thoughtful touch.
Communication with the host was prompt and effortless.
Overall, our stay was pleasant and accommodating.
We appreciated being allowed to check in early at 3pm, though it still felt somewhat late, especially considering the 10:30am check-out time.
The fireplace was functional, but because the fan wasn't operational, it took quite a while to heat the house and required constant monitoring overnight to prevent it from extinguishing. A couple of blow heaters in the rooms would have been great.

Fantastic historic house and yard in a great location.

Great location to explore the Barossa. Fireplace was a particular favourite as well as the generous provisions for breakfast
There wasn’t anything that I didn’t like

Lovely little cottage, home away from home.
Late check in 4pm was a bit late I feel.

The breakfast food provided plus the extra food and beverage items were all very much appreciated. It was a great location for seeing the Barossa.
Could do with a clothes dryer but with a cosy fire and plenty of drying racks this was easily sorted.
4.3
beautiful property, great attention to detail.
this property is so unique and authentic.
4.3
Uniqueness of antiques throughout the house, breakfast groceries supplied were massive and the cottage style was extraordinary. Did I mention the complimentary bottle of wine???? Totally 5 stars plus in expectation after 3 weeks being on the road.
It was cold even though we had a beautiful fire with wood supplied. Weather was very cold though
4.3
unique, warm, inviting. full of character
mice evidence but can’t be helped as they come in from the cold this time of year

lovely historical cottage with excellent facilities. We were pleasantly surprised by the provisions available to us including things like bread, milk, bottle of wine, butter, jam, eggs, yoghurt, fruit and everything you could possibly require to cook with should you choose to do so
issues with the tv, which we could not get working other than to play DVDs, and the electric fan in the fireplace appeared to not be working

Breakfast was make/serve yourself. The range of food provided was excellent and plentiful.
Fireplace was set and ready to go.
The place was clean and tidy and well appointed and full of little curios and reminders from the past.
Low door heights can make it interesting for taller people - over 6ft (+183cm).

The cottage is well presented and provided everything we required for our stay, from three roomy bedrooms, dining room, a well equipped kitchen, spa bath in the large bathroom and a wood fire in the cosy lounge. It is really dog friendly and has a large secure back garden for your pets to roam. It also provides a unique view into South Australia's early settlers and the Rodda family, with its collection of artifacts and memorabilia. It is in a great location in walking or driving distance to Angaston main street which was less busy than the busy main streets of Tanunda and Nuriootpa. It was also close by to the Barossa Farmers Market which is on every Saturday morning.
The hosts were very helpful and provided a substantial continental breakfast.
There wasn't anything we didn't like. The quilts on the bed are quite heavy and warm and appropriate for cold weather, but you may want to consider bringing a lighter blanket if you prefer sleeping without a quilt.
