About this house rental
Perfect Ski Lease for 30 day minimum. Don't get stuck with having a Ski Lease for the entire season. Instead, enjoy this pet friendly, spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom Tahoe Donner home that offers a mountain environment with an open great room with floor to ceiling windows. A wood burning stove adds warmth and added atmosphere on those cold, chilly nights.
Located upstairs is the master bedroom (queen bed) and bathroom. There’s even an office area available in the loft for those taking working vacations.
The main level has two additional bedrooms (both with queen beds and one with a set of bunk beds), bathroom, an open kitchen, dining area, living room with large flat screen TV and the laundry room. A wrap-around deck on the rear of the house has a gas grill and a hot tub.
Downstairs is a rec room, complete with furniture, a pool table and another set of bunk beds. There is also a small library of books for you to enjoy during your stay.
I am happy to share my special getaway with you and truly hope you get to enjoy it as much as I do. Sit back and relax in the hot tub and look at the stars in the sky. The views out the back, particularly in the early morning, are very peaceful.
Tahoe Donner is a wonderful, mountainous resort community with many amenities, including its own small downhill ski area, a fantastic cross country ski center, a sledding hill and Recreation Center. The Rec Center offers hot tubs, heated pool, fitness center, saunas and health spa. In addition, there is an equestrian center, tennis courts, 18 hole golf course and driving range, a public restaurant (The Lodge at Tahoe Donner), and a private beach on Donner Lake. Tahoe Donner is conveniently situated at the upper west end of Truckee.
Winter is a special time of year here in Tahoe Donner. Vehicles with 4 wheel drive or vehicles with chains are recommended and sometimes required. At times, heavy snowfall may result in unexpected power outages in the area and at times the snow plows get backed up and are slow to respond. Remember, you're in the mountains and Mother Nature may not want to cooperate with your specific plans. So if you get stuck in the house or lose power, relax and enjoy the serenity.....

This house has essentially everything you need. The sofa in the living room is so comfy. Same goes for the rec room downstairs, which can be a little cold. The backyard is wide open to small trail. Parking could be difficult during winter time as it is very steep. Couldn't get jacuzzi to go higher then 96 degree, but was good enough for us. Overall, we love this house and what it has to offer.

We felt so lucky to stay in Mike's home for our annual snow weekend. The house is extremely comfortable, and the amenities are terrific. It exceeded expectations all around. We especially enjoyed the chessboard! And Mike was a responsive and welcoming host. We'd love to return.

What a great place!! We enjoyed the fireplace and hot tub after a day of skiing. Mike is the best host I've dealt with! Thanks

Great stay! Perfect for large groups and families. Loved the hot tub after skiing. The large open living room with large windows into the woods is just stunning. Plenty of space to roam around. The basement with plenty of kids toys was highly appreciated by our toddler. Parking pad on street level made it so much easier to actually get in and out. Plan plenty of time to get through Truckee on the weekends if you‘re heading to one of the resorts.

This is a family house they let others rent and we would rent it again. We stayed here during a winter storm. The plow did a good job on the driveway. We parked one night in the garage (which is a great amenity), but had trouble getting up the driveway on a cold icy morning, so parked up top the rest of the week to be safe. Chains would have done the trick - we had 4 wheel and snow tires. The owner was helpful in our booking change and checked in on us during the snow storm and left a yummy liquor in the freezer to share! We loved playing pool. We skied at Tahoe Donner. Went tubing at Tahoe Donner (skip it) and sledded in the neighborhood with the house sleds - fun! We made fires, used the hot tub and cooked a few nights. We ate at Moody's, 50/50 and tacos at Como. All great and close. We also worked and used the office loft for that. WIFI worked great. Dog friendly.

This place was very cozy, the description doesn't begin to do it justice. Perfect for a family, very spacious. I loved how it was completely decorated for Christmas. It gave an "at home" vibe. Thank you Michael for opening your home up to mine, I would definitely recommend this home to others.

Loved this property! Great location, well-appointed, something for everyone. We stayed with my parents, our adult children, and our lab, Theo, and it was a hit with everyone. We'd stay again in a heartbeat!!

Micheal’s place was great. The home was in a beautiful location, was spacious and clean. The description of the home is accurate and there is plenty of space to bring our family and two dogs. Michael was responsive and very kind. We will absolutely return in the future.

We had a great time! The property is close to the store, fishing in the Truckee River, and Donner Lake. Plenty of space for a big group. Bummer the hot tub didn’t work though.

I wish I could give more stars! This home was the perfect vacation getaway for our family! There is plenty of room for a large group to relax and enjoy the many things this property has to offer. The beds were very comfortable and the neighborhood was so quiet! We enjoyed playing pool downstairs and there are plenty of other games on hand to enjoy. The back of the property has a nice trail to walk or ride your bike, or you can just relax in the hammock which was really peaceful. Any questions we had were quickly answered by Mike, which we greatly appreciated (we did not have anywhere near that great of service with another property we rented in the area the year prior). We love the Truckee/North Lake Tahoe area, and hope to stay at this lovely home again!

Great family/pet friendly place in Tahoe Donner
We had a nice stay here (5 adults, 2 kids). It's in a convenient location near Northwoods in Tahoe Donner, with a well-appointed kitchen, pool room downstairs for games and hanging out. Owner was friendly and communicative. Thanks!

Nice Getaway....
Enjoyed the house and hot tub! Conveniently located near Alpine Meadow Ski Resort. And I liked the house binder for suggestions of nearby restaurants, as well as the recipes! We had breakfast at the Donner Lake Kitchen and enjoyed the wide variety of menu & drink items!!

Perfect location for friends reunion
I booked this VRBO for a ski trip with friends from college and it was perfect for our weekend! We really enjoyed the grill, hot tub and pool table. Plus, it was so nice to have a big kitchen table so we could all sit together for meals. I was so impressed and I recommend this place to my family for future vacations, and I already started looking at weekends for the summer to come back again!

What a great week!
This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Michael’s place and my family really enjoyed it. It is well stocked, clean, and close to hiking trails. The game room downstairs was a major bonus for our kids. Communication w/Michael was east as well.

Great family getaway!
Our group consisted of 8: Mom & Dad (us, 50+), our 2 kids (19, 23), and a few of their friends (19, 20, 20, 23), and our dogs. This was a great place, super clean with all the necessities! We enjoyed the lake by day and home cooked meals, games, pool/billiards, walks, and hot tub by night and morning. Though our group is older, there is also plenty of fun stuff for young ones. This cabin has an open back yard that backs to a walking/mountain bike trail that appears to run for miles. Though we brought our own beach towels and dog bowls, we didn’t need to as these too were provided. We definitely plan to come back! Thank you again!!

Nice mountain retreat for families
Beautiful home in the woods with plenty of space for a family reunion. We had a great time with our son, daughter in law, and four grandkids. Well equipped and with toys, games, and entertainment options for the kids. Close to hiking and beautiful Truckee downtown.

Easy Process, Nice House
We had a great time. The property was a couple minutes from downtown. Hiking was just out the backdoor and more just down the street and across from the boat storage. Best time with family in a long time.
