Loved our spacious 2 bedroom villa with great views of the sea & plunge pool.

You have access to the sea via a tiny beach, but you better not expect any waves. There is a diving resort nearby, the Jean-Michel Cousteau (not on booking.com), just a 5min drive from Daku. You can learn to dive or, as an experienced diver, sign up for their diving for a day. It’s one of the best places to go diving in all of Fiji.
The position of the Duku resort on the map is somewhat inaccurate, it is rather close to Savusavu town.

The location is great. A 20 min walk down the coast from town with beautiful views of the bay. The staff are lovely and helpful too, and the hotel offers multiple local tours which is good.
We were there the beginning of Jan which is super hot and muggy. The air con machine looks about 30 years old and struggled to churn out a trickle of cool-ish air. As a result the unit was uncomfortably hot. Due to having shutters instead of glass, it also meant that if you want air con you have to shut all the shutters and sit in darkness. The linen was stained, generally it was a bit grubby and we didn't have a bath mat, 4 lights in the bathroom were out and we didn't have hot water for a day. Another guest told us she hadn't had hot water all week! It's just shabby and run down and needs some money invested in it. We ended up changing resort halfway through our stay.

The friendliness of the staff, the beautiful views, excellent rooms and its nearness to town.

Daku resort are self-contained Bungalows so has the privacy but has other guests not too far away, so you do not feel lonely or isolated. The staff are great and even though we got there by ferry in the early hours of the morning there were there to assist. George was absolutely wonderful and helpful. All staff were friendly and helpful.
Slow internet..... but forced everyone to get off their phones and enjoy the view and company!

The beds were delightfully comfortable, staff was accommodating and friendly, and the view from my room was stunning! The pool was a wonderful way to cool off in the middle of the day, and the grounds are beautiful. The resort is only a 15ish minute walk from Suvasuva and in a very quiet area. I would come back here in a heartbeat, highly recommended!
Staff changed plans (to move me to a different room when I extended my stay, or cancelled my massage) several times and didn't notify me until the last minute.

The bures are lovely, and the outdoor shower is super cute. The view from the resort is stunning and the yoga platform has great view of the sunset.
Food is good too and staff are very friendly and accomodating.
No paddles for stand up paddle boards.

Spent 6 nights at Daku. It was brilliant in every way. Just sad that we didn't have more days there. JJ, Delia, their staff George, Peggy. Maria and the rest of the team go way over and above to ensure your stay is perfect. You're made to feel so welcome immediately. Location is perfect. Lovely walk into Savusavu Town and plentiful taxis for night time. The accommodation is very comfortable, food fantastic and all the excursions suggested to us on top of ones we'd independently planned, we're amazing. Ran out of time to make use of free kayaks and paddle boards. Great snorkelling in front of property. Such a wonderful stay and would definitely stay there again 100 per cent.

I think they should be able to prepare a good breakfast.
With my booking they knew I got a group and I've emailed them and also I called them a day before .
But that mornIng we had to wait for eggs and baked beans...
The coffee was not ready.
That is the only downfall I experienced with them...
We got to wait for another 20mns for the breakfast...
They had to go and buy more bread and stuff...
Not good.😡
