Nestled in a small valley surrounded by the Stanislaus Forest, this chalet style cabin located in the gated Sierra Park offers the beauty, comfort, and relaxation you are looking for.
From the moment you pass through the gate and drive down into Sierra Park- it feels like you are taking a step back into a simpler time. The smell of the sugar pines, listening to the bull frogs in the lake, and the dark sky full of stars always reminds me of my time at summer camp in the Sierras. This truly is a four seasons destination- the green grass and wildflowers in the Spring; Summer brings the warmth of the sun, fun times on the lake, and beautiful evenings on the deck; Apples in the orchard, and the golden leaves in the Fall, and of course Winter brings the beautiful snow covered trees and cozy fires in the wood burning stove.
Once inside the house - you will be reminded of an Austrian or Swiss ski chalet, with beautiful custom pine woodwork throughout the house. A covered gazebo on the deck in summer provides shade and an "outdoor living area" for your afternoons at the house.
The kitchen is fully stocked with pans, appliances, and utensils for easy preparation of meals. The new Charbroil BBQ is ready for BBQs with family and friends!
The large living room is designed to remind you of being in a rustic lodge- with plenty of space to gather with extended family and friends. The fire in the wood burning stove makes the place extra cozy. Every bedroom has been designed to be a place where you can escape to relax, read, or take a nap. You're in cabin relaxation mode here!
When you venture out there is plenty of fun for everyone here- enjoy the playground, basketball court and the lake in Sierra Park, or play golf and pickle ball in Twain Harte. there are lots of places to explore for beautiful hikes, horseback riding, boating on Pinecrest Lake, fishing at Kennedy Meadows etc. Yosemite is an easy day trip. In the winter, skiing at Dodge Ridge is close by, and snow play at Leland Meadows...the possibilities for fun are endless!

We had a comfortable stay at the cabin with 2 families with young children. The community has a playground and lake for the kids to play and only 15 minutes to Pinecrest lake. The bathrooms are updated and the beds are comfortable. We will be back in the winter!

The property is in a lovely gated community that is quiet and safe. The host was an excellent communicator and made sure we were well taken care of. The property was clean, comfortable, and warm. We enjoyed a short drive to Dodge Ridge on nicely plowed roads after a sizable snowfall. Powder turns and smiles were plentiful : ). Back at the cabin, the trees, lake, and surroundings were so beautiful with the newly fallen snow. We enjoyed our time together cooking in the well-equipped kitchen, snuggling watching movies by the warm and efficient wood stove, and gazing at the stars and snow from the lovely and large back deck. We are all smiles from our very special family weekend together.

This cabin is a gem. Dana has placed great thought into every inch of her property. It was exactly as advertised. Our family had a wonderful time there. You can see the pride and detail the owners have in this place. It had everything we needed to unwind and focus on relaxing. We will be back. This was our first time ever using VRBO or the other one. Dana has set the bar high for anyone opening up their home.

Took my family to Longbarn. It was a great cabin spotless. It is a great location for winter or summer. It has a park for the kids and basketball hoops for the big kids close to snow skiing, ice skating, and Pine Crest.

Dana’s home is just gorgeous and the deck facing the pond is now my happy place in my mind.
The cabin is so beautiful and the decor lovely. Dana’s thoughtful attention to detail is evident everywhere you look. There is the best coffee station I have ever seen, an abundance of books, sweet details like s’mores ingredients, and the most comfortable seating in abundance. The bathrooms are gorgeous too - so well designed and decorated.
The deck was just gorgeous!!! The lovely cabana/gazebo was decorated so perfectly that I was taking notes for my home. I actually found the lovely wind chime that was on the deck and bought it for me home. When you walk out onto the deck you are met with this incredibly fresh, green smell that just immediately brings a sense of ease and calmness within your body. I could have spent the whole time on the deck. The gazebo provides lovely shade and you can also sunbathe if you like.
Dans took such care in making sure her home was so clean and cool for us (there was a heatwave while we were visiting). The trails around the pond were so fun to explore with our kids and the playground in this gated community was a delight! There was even a little improvised honor system booksale on the school bus stop bench that we bought some books at. And a dog park too in the complex!
Everything about our stay was beyond lovely. And Dana is the nicest and most thoughtful host. We will definitely be back! Thank you for a gorgeous, magical time!!

We had a wonderful stay and magical experience - with feet of snow each day. It's a beautiful home in a serene location. In the house, anything you could possibly need is at your fingertips. Communication with the owner, Dana, was excellent. We will undoubtedly be back.

Nice clean place with big open living room and porch. Area close to pinecrest and would be great for summer months also. Two of the main bedrooms are lofts / set up very nice but are open to the main lofted living room. But worked great for our family event!!

We had a great stay at a beautiful mountain home. The property was as exactly advertised. Extremely clean and well stocked. More than enough room for the 8 people in our extended family for the three nights. Views of the meadow/ lake from the living room and large deck.

We had a wonderful, relaxing long weekend at Dana's beautiful cabin. So homey, cozy and well-stocked. My grandchildren (3 and 6 yrs) had a great time sledding and playing in the snow. Dana was very responsive and helpful host.

The cabin is beautiful and the pictures are accurate! We enjoyed a long weekend, received close to 2' of snow at the cabin. There's a great view off the living area and the wood burning stove makes for a classic winter feel. Dana is a very gracious host and ensured our trip to her place was a success, she even called to make sure we made it out of the snow ok! We will definitely be booking we her again, and thank you Dana!

The Christensen Cabin was welcoming, homey, comfortable, cozy, and perfect for our family’s Holiday gathering. Our hosts provides large selection of books, and games. Our family ranged from 2 to 80, they was something for everyone. We felt safe and secure nestled in the pines dusted with both rain and snow.

Dana, the host was very attentive to our needs, replying quickly to our questions. Her home is inviting and fully equipped. Loved sitting on the deck in early morning listening to a variety of birds, and viewing the landscape including the pond, very peaceful. Spent a nice week with family, plan to return. The perfect annual family get-a-way spot!
All I can say is, wow, where do I begin! We new that the cabin would be beautiful from the photos, and being such a close drive to Pinecrest lake in one direction, and Sonora for good eats and beer gardens in the other is prime location. However once we actually got to this home, it was better than we could have imagined. I contacted Dana before our trip to ask about a slightly earlier check in time, she was more than accommodating! The house guide and check in process is simple, and she gave me additional information prior to checking in so I had no questions once getting there. The property is behind a private gate which will be personalized to you to enter. The neighborhood is quiet and gorgeous. The balcony of the cabin looks over the large swimming pond, which had many children and families running around the beach, kayaking, and swimming. I even went on a run one of the mornings around the back of the pond where there are pretty trails and wild flower fields. It is just breath taking. The cabin itself was extremely clean and full of unique and homey details that were perfect for being in the mountains. Dana even left out fun little things for the kids like American flags, bead necklaces, bubbles, and miniature golf sets. The kitchen was stocked with anything you would need and more to cook and bbq any meal! The kids enjoyed the large living room, netflix available, and stash of board games under the stairs. There are plenty of placed to sleep, and our bed in the room downstairs was very comfortable. Both bathrooms are renovated beautifully with a walk in shower down stairs and a VERY large soaking tub upstairs!
The back deck is where the adults spent most of their time as the view is impeccable. Pinecrest lake was about 15 minute drive through the mountains, but the beach was packed with kids and fun. Check out the outdoor movie theater while you are there! We would absolutely stay here again, and have already talked about booking it year after year.

Relaxing Getaway
Consistent communication from the start. The area was quiet and beautiful. The cabin stayed cool and was well equipped with kitchen supplies and bathroom necessities. Great view from the patio where we enjoyed our breakfast before our walks around the property. Nice neighbors.

Wonderful mountain cabin
We had a fantastic experience at Dana’s mountain home. The house was very beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, super clean and comfortable. The large living room allowed us to spend the evenings in a nice, warm atmosphere. The patio was very spacious and revealing picturesque views of the surrounding nature. It was furnished with new, well maintained patio furniture. The bedrooms were nicely decorated and with comfortable beds with electric blankets. The kitchen was very clean and fully stocked with everything we needed for our stay. The bathrooms were remodeled and extremely clean. Overall it exceeded our expectations and we had memorable time. We definitely will come back!

A wonderful cabin for a weekend getaway
We (2 couples with 3 kids between us, ranging 1-6 years old) had a wonderful weekend at Dana's cabin. We loved the aesthetic - from the small electric lanterns that our kids loved carrying around to the bountiful stacks of firewood, it's everything we wanted in a cabin. The home guide Dana shared with us prior to check-in is also very thorough - we had a little trouble figuring out some of the light switches, but then we read the guide and sure enough, it told us what to do!

Cozy, comfortable & clean
My family and I had such a wonderful time staying at this property. The owner keeps the place very tidy and well-appointed. She was also super responsive. It was a great location between snow activities at Dodge Ridge plus Leland Snowplay and gold country exploration at Columbia and Jamestown. We were thrilled to get fresh snow fall the night we arrived. Nothing like waking up to a fresh blanket of snow. The serene view from the back deck is calming and gorgeous. It was nice to have a small hill in the backyard where my kids were able to enjoy the sleds at the house. Lots of lovely (& fun) decor at the house to make it feel homey. The kitchen was well stocked with all that we needed. We would definitely stay here again.

Great time at the cabin
We had a great long weekend at the Long Barn cabin. The place is great, well equipped and with lots of space for our group of 2 adults and 2 kids. Everyone had fun in the mountains and skiing at Dodge Ridge which is just 20 minutes away.

Charming beautiful cabin with so much details
This is one of the nicest vacation homes I have stayed in in terms of decor. Every corner and wall is decorated with art, ornaments, lights thoughtfully. Kitchen is well stocked for cooking and enjoying meals. The common space is spacious and well furnished. Beds were very comfortable with great mattress, bedding and pillows. The owner really put in many thoughtful touches everywhere. The hosts stayed in touch and were very flexible and helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back soon. Highly recommended!

Great family friendly fun in the snow
Our family had a great time at this cottage because it was just the right speed for our kids, ages 5 and 10. We sledded on the gentle hill across the street, made snowmen, and drank hot cocoa by the fireplace with a great view out of the large windows.

The house was beautiful, spacious, and very comfortable. It was well stocked with everything we needed, and the location was perfect for casual walks, playing in the snow, and nearby hiking trails. Communicating with Dana was fast and easy. I would definitely stay again!!

Great getaway in the mountains
We rented this cabin for the week of Thanksgiving and had a wonderful stay with our family. There was plenty of space for all 6 of us plus our 15 month old son. Dana made our stay very comfortable and was available to answer any questions we had. The house had an amazingly stocked kitchen, with all the utensils and spices needed to make a feast. Both of the bathrooms were great - the upstairs one had a huge bathtub perfect for the toddler and for relaxing. We’re so glad we were able to stay and make memories together as a family in the mountains.

We had a wonderful stay in this charming cabin. Dana, the host, was very accommodating and flexible with our party, and the house was clearly very well care for. It's located in a beautiful wooded area, near a pond, and hiking access. We had a great swim, and fun day playing with the kids, at Pincrest Lake just up the road. I highly recommend this rental!

Perfect Cabin
This is a wonderful, spacious, and well appointed cabin. I stayed here with a few colleagues while we were doing field work in the area and it provided a great base camp for us after a couple long days in the field. The kitchen had everything we needed and the living room and bedrooms were very comfortable. The deck was great for dining and relaxing. Check in and out was easy and Dana was very communicative. I would definitely stay here again.

Perfect summer vacation
We loved “Camp Christensen”, the property was clean and cozy. Dana was quick to respond to any question right from the initial request to reserve. We love staying in High Sierra Park, it’s quiet all through the day and night. The kids love playing at the park and in the pond, unfortunately due to the drought the pond was closed to swimming but we still were able look for frogs and tadpoles, as well as build sand castles. We also took a day trip to Pinecrest lake and another day trip to Beardsley Reservoir. Of course we also had to have Mias for dinner one night too. All in all this years trip was perfect and it all started with Camp Christensen. Can’t wait to book again, Thank you Dana

Fantastic cabin!
Everything about the property was wonderful. Owner was in communication quickly when minor challenges arises and made everything work out to have a wonderful time at the property. Kids loved it and didn’t want to leave when it was time to go! Highly recommend and hope to return!

Dana's cabin was perfect for my family and me. Plenty of space and just what I was looking for, a place to escape in the pine trees.
The cabin was very well stocked. I love it when everything you need to cook or bake is at your finger tips.
I was there over the 4th holiday - Dana was really thoughtful, providing decorations to make it festive. A nice touch.
It was a hot weekend and we had plenty of fans, thankfully.
