The price and the location are good. It’s a 2 star hotel so it’s dated and old but it’s reflected in the price. There are rooms that share a bathroom so make your choice carefully. We had a room with private bathroom but not ensuite, shower was weak and the temperature was temperamental. It’s ok for the price paid, if you want 5 star then pay 5 star’s price.
None, you get what you paid for.

The location was lovely and staff accommodating
My private bathroom was accessible to other guests and used by other guests frequently during my stay.

Bearing in mind the hygiene rules we didnt mind the hands off approach to keep us safe

cost and no thrills

Location good, no parking but that is stated and there’s a reasonable car park close that’s not too expensive
wasn’t the cleanest. Make-up, false lashes, hair and even ear phones left at the edge of the room from a previous occupant, obvious was not hoovered. Bathroom & bedsheets were clean though.

The location was good for what we wanted
Nothing was clean, dirty towels were left on the floor for over 2 days. It seemed like the only people who cleaned the bathroom are the guests! The room had barely been vacuumed, under the bed and down the back of things hadnt been done at all. The cold tap in the bedroom didnt work for more than a very faint trickle and the hot tap was so hot it was hotter than a boiling kettle! If you have arranged a late check in, bear in mind that your full name will be written on an envelope taped to the front door. It's not at all disability or child friendly given all of the stairs and no lift.

Comfortable bed, staff/owner was able to accommodate a last-minute late arrival and leave a key for us. Nice warm room. We were able to come and go late with the front door key.
Disgusting smell from the ensuite permeating the room. We put toilet cleaner in the toilet ourselves, which only managed to reduce the smell. When we contacted Booking.com to complain, the owner denied any smell (it was less, but still detectable), and asserted we were making a spurious complaint for a refund. We had not even asked for a refund!

location
very dirty, the bed linen was not changed before us, it was in other people's hair and stains, it is very ugly, we discovered it late at night when we were going to sleep, there was no one in the hotel and we had to buy new bed linen, because it was ugly to sleep on, everything was covered in dust and the chair was also stained, in general the impression was bad 🙁

I felt the staff was very cold and the accommodation overpriced.
Reception upon arrival needs improvement. Decor. Needs a freshening up, shower is just ok. Not all the lights worked, paint peeling on the bedroom walls.

Convient location with paid city parking available nearby. Beds were comfortable.
Manager never seemed happy to have us - we felt like an interruption rather than a guest. Room had 3 burnt out light bulbs and one lamp without any bulb. When I asked for a couple of bulbs, manger kept saying it was unusal that 2 burned out at once. I hadn't even told her about the other two - guess she intimidated me. I actually agree and doubt that all burned out at once - just never checked. One lamp didn't work even with a bulb, but a friendlier staff person promptly replaced it. Also toilet didnt flush right. The tank took 35 minutes to refill before it could be flushed again. Told we could use a vacant bathroom but that one had no latches - not just no locks but no latches.
I do dislike complaining but I would suggest St. Annes as a last resort only. If you book there, temper your expectations. They were advertising for additional help, so I know they are overworked. But the overall vibe just wasn't good. A manager that seemed to care would have helped our attitudes a lot.

Could hear individual walking outside bedroom as the floorboards were very noisy even though there was carpet laid on top.
The bedroom walls were very thin as you could hear the person next door using the toilet.
Smell of damp in toilet- heating was on
On arrival did not feel welcomed- felt like we were being a nuisance

Everything was clean, the beds were comfortable, there was breakfast, it was great value for money and located near the car park and shorefront.
We stayed there for 3 nights and on 2 separate mornings at breakfast, there was sour milk in the jugs. So they should really date the milk jugs and throw them out if they've been there for so long! Plus it was difficult to get my hands on the cereal that I wanted because only 1 or 2 of the mini boxes would get put out for the entire breakfast room.

Location
Bathroom was detached to our room which was inconvenient.

Bathroom is really austere, but clean and spacious.
The bedroom was so shabby and tired, wallpaper coming away, leaky stains in the ceiling and a feeling of neglect. Horrid faded old prints on the walls. All it needs is a little TLC to make it feel more welcoming for weary travellers. It doesn't need the massive wardrobe which dominates the whole room. electrics need sorting. The kettle is plugged into an extension lead that is gaffa taped to wall. You have to unplug the TV to get the lamp to work. I felt like going down to B and Q myself and doing a bit of a makeover on the poor room.

The surroundings. close to the city.
the room was very cold despite the heating. one of the window was impossible to close firmly. I tried to call the owner. they only answered the phone in the afternoon.

everything was amazing. nice rooms and beds and they waited for us to arrive. So cozy, really warm inside which we really appreciated as it was freezing.
pressure on the shower is very low and shower gel was empty in our room.

Close to town centre and Oban is a cool town
The room was dated and unclean in places. Wall paper was coming off the ceilings and signs of dampness . The soft furnishings were aged and shabby
3.0
In a convenient location.
The set up of this place has no customer focus, there is only staff presence for a couple of hours each afternoon, there are heaps of rules and we were forced to pay cash which seems to be a tax dodge, we were grudgingly offered a handwritten receipt. It is a money making enterprise for someone, they couldn’t care a flying fig about their guests.
3.0
Clean spacious room, lovely shower and well provided for with kettle, snacks and soap.
A little out of the centre and the arrangement with next door for food was quite confusing. No room service.
