Great location, great staff, everything you need for facilities, great music and great vibe!

Families aren’t super modern but that adds to the charm. My stay was still very comfortable.

Great location, clean and friendly hosts!

Basically everything. The people, the room, the location, the common area, host’s recommendations and the vibe!!!

Just a little bit issue for me, personally. There was a little smell in the bathroom and sometimes I have to wait for it as there’s only one bathroom. Though, the bathroom is clean.

Wonderful hosts, helpful and with good location

Ara and Diego are extremely easy going, friendly, smiling and patient. I felt super comfortable and would highly recommend this place. Absolutely clean, cozy and loveable place I highly recommend! All good! Maybe the fact that my bed was the one, 1m below the air condition what caused me a major cold and a nose completely closed. But I asked to turn a/C off, once the room was cool and only the ventilation to stay on, Ara came and followed my wish and saved me from dying so it was actually good and nothing bad could be found! I ll come back for sure!

Ara and Diego have created a homely, comfortable and tranquil space at Casa Samay. I stayed in the 3-bed female dorm which was really spacious, quiet and no bunks! I ended up extending my stay here to spend more time on the island after a couple of days’ diving. There’s a well equipped kitchen too for food prep and you can hire bikes and snorkel equipment for a good price.

The most amazing place with the most amazing people. it was spotless, comfortable beds a lot of thought has gone in to providing everything to make guests feel at home and the owners are so kind and welcoming. if I could have stayed forever I would have!

Great and lovely!

Ara was great host! She is just adorable, super friendly, making sure you’re feeling comfortable and that you have everything you need! She even sends a list with lots of recommendations in the area (food, things to do, etc.). The place is really nice and does feel like a little house, it is really cosy and it has everything you might need. 100% recommend!

Clean, comfortable, quiet, and with wonderful communicative hosts. The hostel is spotless (including the bathrooms), and I loved the garden, the location, and chatting with the other guests. Would highly recommend and stay again.

Average compared to other hostels during my trip

The host are lovely, and do everything in their power to accomodate you

I booked this hostel based on the good reviews, but as a solo traveller I felt it wasn't easy to make contact. There's only one dorm in the accommodation which hosted a girl who stayed for long term and another girl who wasn't social. Next to this it a bit far from the city center and to meet new people I would recommend another location.

Lovely casa with outstanding host

Incredibly nice and helpful host, lovely and clean casa that's close to outstanding and affordable dining options (try K'ooben Laab and Los Moros del Morrito). I really hope I can return again soon!

The room faces the entrance/patio/street and it's quite noisy throughout the night (or early morning when people have breakfast or leave early). There's also a really weird lamp in the room that keeps blinking every few seconds when it's dark in the room. So bring earplugs and a sleep mask to sleep well.

Nice family owned Place. Ara and Diego really care for their guests and provide a lot of useful Tips where to go or where to eat. Hostel is in a quiet backstreet but in easy walking distance to everything. I really enjoyed my stay there.

Heaven!

I loved everything! Ara was absolutely wonderful and helpful and made my stay a heavenly experience. The house is really well located, a short 12-15 minute walk from the pier. It is one block from the main street where you can find great restaurants, money exchange, laundromat, groceries, etc. My room had airconditioning and was spacious and impeccably clean! The bed was comfortable and the house is in a quiet neighborhood so I slept soundly. The kitchen, fridge, stove and bathrooms were spotlessly clean. Everything in the house was loved and well looked after. Wifi was very strong. Hot water was available whenever you wanted it. There are bikes and scooters for rent if you need it. I enjoyed spending a couple of lazy afternoons sitting in the front entrance area and reading. I honestly can't say enough good things about this place. I made friends with some wonderful ladies who were staying in the women's dorm room and the dorms looked very clean and very spacious. The photos are very accurate and represent the house exactly. Highly Highly Highly Recommended!!! I absolutely loved it here and will be back. Thank you Ara for everything!

A homely feeling!

Ara and Diego are the best. They created a little home from home. Everything is very clean, all that you need is there (even a little lock for your locker). Free drinking water. Great location, quiet area. Comfortable beds. Fans & airco in the room. Excellent wifi. I’m not a hostel person, but this has been the best due to how Ara & Diego run it.

The only thing for me are the bathrooms. Ara kept them very clean, it’s not that. To me personally the amount of people per bathroom is less comfortable. But again, that is a personal thing for me.

Ara & Diego are wonderful & very kind. They’re frequently around checking in on everyone & keeping up the hostel. Diego helped me fix a bike a got & Ara’s alway a call away. 💕 The house is beautiful with nice common areas and is never to busy. Super safe, lots of locks on everything. Love it here.

The rooms are all furnished with a lot of love. Ada is incredibly friendly and helpful. The hostel prohibits bicycles and snorkeling equipment. The location is very central and quiet. And the kitchen is well equipped!

Casa Samay feels like coming home.

Ara is the best host with a big heart for everyone. She gave me a lot of tips for nice beaches and local restaurants and helped me with all my questions. The warm and welcoming atmosphere in the hostel made me extend my stay to one week instead of a few nights. Everything is clean, beds are comfy and the kitchen is well equipped. I will never forget my first week of my two month travel because Ara and all the people I met at Casa Samay made it unforgettable. When I have the chance I will definitely come back. <3 ¡muchas gracias por todo!

the hosts, Ara and Diego were super friendly and helpful. we actually booked a tour from them (snorkeling the reefs and el cielo). We also rented bike from them and it was great.

Hosts were so lovely, great communication before arrival and were available when I had questions. Room was spacious, very clean. Shared bathrooms were also very clean. Recommend booking a aircon room (which hosts messaged me to advise after I had booked non-aircon one and very much appreciated it). Kitchen was great. Had great bikes to rent. Shopping centre and local restaurants nearby

cute place in quiet environment

cute environment with eye for detail, quiet location, owners seem very friendly and caring

entire place and rooms unfortunately very hot and somewhat bad ventilated even though the place was full of fans (we had two in the room). location is a bit off and bikes are needed to get around. bike rental offered for guests for 10eur a day seems expensive as we got a scooter for 20 a day.

One of the best staying! :) It was really peacefull, nice and calm place. We were there and had a feel we are alone in whole areal. The pool was refreshing, the garden was a peace of jungle and bed very comfy. Only what we missed was a cooker in the kitchen. Thank you! :)
