Friendly and diligent staff. The breakfast was epic. The room was spotless, a great temperature and had a great selection on the tea tray.
It's an old building and some of the plumbing was a little louder than ideal especially if you are in a room next to an early riser.

Beautiful building. Lovely food. Very close to Norwich centre and the UEA.
Room very small & cramped. Shower floor was lifting, sink coming away from the wall.
Although food very nice it was on the pricey side - £18 for a burger.
Room on the higher price side too and didn't include breakfast which was an extra £12 each.

Pub was fantastic, food amongst the best..
Accommodation was dire, glorified shed. beds uncomfortable, no proper lighting, shower was a trickle... really not worth £90...

A lovely old coaching inn. Friendly welcome, helpful staff, good (and plentiful) food in the restaurant, nice real ales, good WiFi. A good location if you're going to a graduation at UEA, just a couple of miles away.
Bathroom clean and presentable, but gravity fed shower not so good. Instant coffee in the room - a pod machine would be nice.

Good location. Beds very comfortable. Lots of choice for evening meal with specials board as well as standard menu. Excellent food - very generous portions.
It wasn't a problem for us but, having now stayed there and looking back at the information provided on the website, there is no mention about the narrow spiral staircase to the first floor rooms - wouldn't suit everyone.

Very cosy pretty room, very attentive and welcoming hosts, excellent location for UEA visit.

The location was perfect. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Food was excellent. Breakfast superb as we had a choice of something light or the option of a hearty breakfast. The evening meal was excellent and again fantastic service.
My two daughters shared a room in the stable block. The room was exceptionally cold. The heater in the main bedroom did help to warm the room a bit but it had to stay on to maintain any heat. The lighting in the room was extremely dim sadly. The bathroom although a nice size had no heating at all - so it was freezing cold. There wasn't even a heated towel rail. There was only one light out of three working in their bathroom. There was also mould at the bottom of the shower.
There were no coat hooks on the back of our door or our daughters door. To be honest the stable block room was very cramped for our adult daughters and probably would be better served as a single room. It was okay for one night but any longer I think would have been a problem.
It would have also been nice to have had luxury hot chocolate sachets as an option with the other beverages. Maybe even a couple of wine miniatures as a welcome gesture or slippers to keep you warm particularly in the stable block.

Very welcoming and convenient
Quite noisy during the night

Excellent location for where I wanted to be visiting. Large free car park right next to the room. Didn't have to go through pub to get to the room. Nice single room in an outside table block.
Only downside was the noise from heavy rain on the roof but nothing that could have been changed. Whilst I was aware breakfast was available when I booked online, it would have been nice to have been asked, either at check in or when dropping key off if I would like breakfast

Third time we have stayed. Lovely historic pub with plenty of free parking in great location. Very handy for UEA and the main roads towards London. The restaurant is exceptional we always book as very popular and if you don't you probably won't get a table!
Cost of Breakfast a bit hefty.

Beautiful traditional old style pub, very friendly staff and spotlessly clean. Delicious freshly cooked breakfast.
Only small moan, we were woken early by a brewery delivery.

The two biscuits they left me with a good variety of hot drinks were to die for. Brill shower.
The walls a little thin, so you could hear next door.

The staff was very lovely and very helpful, and the location was good to me. The rooms have a different access than the pub which I like especially it is connected directly to the car park. The room was clean, and the toilet was very cosy.
It could be a bit noisy sometimes, as the rooms are just next to the restaurant, and the internet broadband needs a special booster apparatus, which was not working when I was first there, but the very kind receptionist managed to fix it quickly. I think the room needs a small chair, and more lighting.

Only thing was finding location of light switchs...the switch for bathroom was behind door by the wardrobe. As I said a very small thing

We always stay at the Red Lion when we visit my mother in law who lives up the road. We didn't have a meal this time, but the food is fantastic. The prices are reasonable for a room above a pub.
The walls between the rooms are very thin. I was woken up in the morning by the man in the next room speaking on the phone and he was not speaking loudly. There is a bit of a problem with the hot water either not heating or being boiling hot in the shower

The property has ample parking and our bedroom was very clean and spacious. Despite being at the front of the pub it was very quiet at night.
A special mention about the menu , the standard of the restaurant is excellent especially if you like seafood.

Easy quick drive to Norwich. Food was excellent, with a huge good home made food menu. Staff really happy and helpful especially as we raised a really daft issue where we were totally in the wrong!
Room was a small Twin but it did have all essentials. Wouldn't be suitable to spend the day in if weather was bad.. We were in one of the annex rooms No. 5. Expected a bit more comfort for the price but we slept well.

Everything , what a find , a true gem of a place , the room was beautiful , spotlessly clean the towels were soft and fluffy and the toiletries beautiful and what can I say about the beds apart from I normally sleep 4- 5 hours a night, I slept a full 10 hours in their bed it was amazing .we ate there in the evening, and the food was also incredible and the portions were huge.the staff are fantastic and so friendly. My aunty and I come to Norfolk regularly to visit family and this is where we will be staying from now on, value for money and a fabulous experience just wish we could have stayed longer , thank you for a wonderful stay
There was nothing at all to complain or moan about

The staff were extremely empathetic and friendly and lent my daughter a charger for the night when we didn’t have one. It was at the end of their shifts as we arrived after 10pm but they served us with smiles and were very helpful.
That I couldn't thank them properly before Ieft in the morning as there was no one there.

the location was perfect for us, the room was spacious and comfortable, and staff friendly.
we was disappointed that breakfast was not included in the price as for £90 I would have expected it and to pay an additional £12 each for breakfast was a a bit much.
although the room was comfortable and clean, the positioning of the furniture was a bit odd with the tv being right in the corner behind the wardrobe.

Exactly what it said on the tin, absolutely fine
Bit dated
