This property is is very spacious with a beautiful wooden decor. We were travelling as two friends and found it a very comfortable for plenty of space in the room. the sunset from the balcony was stunning. Its comes with a fridge and small freezer which is handy.
There were a lot of bugs and flying insects that got in through the bathroom window that we were not able to fully close. But considering the location of this property it’s not surprising to have some bugs and it wasn’t horrendous. We didn’t mention this to the staff but I’m sure if we did they would have assisted straight away.

Friendly, good breakfast and dinner, view from room. Quiet -end of dry season. Our room was very spacious. Ceiling fan only but nights had cool breeze.
All good.

Lovely hillside setting with great views especially at sunset. Room good value; basic but large, clean and with comfortable (and massive) bed and nice hot shower. Also massive bath. No AC in rooms but could even do with heating as nights get a bit chilly in Monteverde. Staff were all pleasant and breakfast was good- best gallo pinto we’ve had in Costa Rica!
Getting charged $5 for an imperial beer during happy hour was something of a surprise…

Rooms really cold had to ask for a blanket …bathroom really cold and wind coming through broken windowpane

Beds supercomfy. Cleanning very precize. Thats all I expect.
Breakfast pretty basic. Repeating every day. Coffee terrible despite the professional Coffee machine on the bar, which they never switch on.

nothing
Terrible experience, the bath plus didn’t work, no hot water, was told that it would take 40 minutes to fill the bath, the coffee machine didn’t work. There were rats or some other animal building a nest in the ceiling from 2:30 am till sunrise. We booked for 2 nights and left after 1 night. No management reached out to us everything left to the receptionist. The breakfast was below average. Horrible, terrible experience.

The staff was super helpful and nice, both in the front desk, and the breakfast team. They helped with reservations, recommendations and asks.
The room was very big and had great views
some aspects in the room were a bit old fashioned.
Getting from town to the hotel by foot was quite a climb (good workout, not for everyone)

Really lovely staff, quiet and comfortable rooms, scenic location.

Armadillos, Trogons, Coatis and more all in the hotel grounds. Great views towards the valley. Spacious, clean rooms. They offer a good selection of tours that they can book for you
the breakfast sausage offerings were a bit strange

Great location chilly in evening.
Lovely setting great reception staff friendly and helpful. Not a big fan of wood cabins lovely painted outside but dark wood inside. Great to have a big bath as well as a big shower.
Why can’t we get cereal for breakfast.
Could do some cushions for the outside chairs bit hard on the reap, as these were the only chairs to sit on.
Very noisy from road directly behind rooms No’s 308 to 405vehicles labouring up steep hill.
We were only staying two night’s so didn’t complain if longer I certainly would want a room change. Quite windy in the night something outside continually banging reported to reception see what happens tonight. Still bagging

the grounds are amazing as are some of the staff.
it is eerily quiet even in high season, I think this potentially as it’s quite expensive for what it is. Rooms are very basic and very loud as there isn’t full glass covering some of the windows. they force you to book a slot for breakfast even tho the hotel is at 2 room capacity. for the last 2 days they only offered buffet breakfast and when I asked for a fried egg they said it wasn’t possible

Location was great. Built on the hill with views of Santa Elena and the West. Clean, spacious well maintained rooms.Had an excellent breakfast buffet.
the room did not have a single chair. It was very windy the day we were there and it was howling all night.

Heliconia Hotel offered me a free upgrade to stay in a "brother hotel" called Ficus. The stay in Fucus was extremely pleasant, the room was outstanding, super clean, the staff was great and the breakfast was marvelous. The location and variety of tours they offered is awesome and I can't wait to go back.
The reason why the offered the free upgrade is because the restaurant in Heliconia was closed, so I would need to move from one place to another to have my breakfast. I am thankful for this upgrade.
Finally, the correlation price-quality was absolutely perfect.
Will definitely book again.

I liked the sunset views from the property, the garden, breakfast and
the breakfast personell.
I did not like the noise of the construction next to my room and the clogged shower. Reception gives minimum information about anything. If you arrive in the evening you will for sure be lost. Parking is devided over four different levels with different road entries. Confusing and frustrating.

Gorgeous property. Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Especially Mario At the front desk, helped us book tours and activities that we really enjoyed.
The walk into town is a little long but it is totally do able- would still definitely stay here again
