Forgot to give us a parking pass, 3 remotes did not work we had to buy batteries, bed really uncomfortable, had to download app to get into room. The air conditioner kept blowing a fuse if the tv was on. Had to go to office to get into pool cards didn’t work. Had to down load app to do laundry, and still didn’t work. I would suggest if you want to do laundry during your stay pick another venue.

Candace was an absolutely perfect hostess. She not only greatly accommodated an early check in but a very late check out as well. The place had everything my girlfriend and I needed, was centrally located and had a comfortable bed.

Great location, center of the island, half way between all locations.
Unit could use an a/c unit in bedroom, refrigerator and freezer had bad odor when we arrived, kitchen counter knifes need sharpening bad. Great corner unit up stairs pool view. Little highway noise but not to bad.

Nice comfortable property. Easy to find. Every thing we wanted and needed for a week on Kauai. Kitchen had good selection of dishes, pots and pans, a few spices, water and ice, some plastic ware for picnics and leftovers. I was able to cook but no measuring spoons or cups! Condo had plenty of extra bedding, beach chairs and cushions; fun selection on TV. We would definitely stay here again.

To start with communications with Candace and Kauai Calls was excellent. The unit was clean, had a wonderful view of the pool area and had beach chairs which we used dailey. Couple of minor issues, there wasn't a dish cloth or dish towel and more toilet paper was necessary. The unit could use a refresh/reno but everything worked and the bed was comfortable. The grounds were well looked after and in a great location. We enjoyed our stay at Plantation Hale.

Ok...here we go...check in is open late at night until(8pm) if you are arriving later. We went to check in at the reservations desk and because it is a VRBO rental, we had to check in 'around the corner' of the lattice fence. Showed the employee the reservation # and she was clueless...she said I had to call the VRBO person we made the reservations with to get in. We were early, and asked if we possibly get into the room before 3pm, manger said once cleaning was done, we could get in....no problem, we just went to the pool and waited. The jacuzzi was out of order ( and stayed out of order for 4 of the 7 days we were there)...got the call we could get into our room at 2pm, great, an hour early, very appreciated! Go up to the room and the code they gave to het in us was not working, called the unit manager, she said 'the locks are working', the cleaning lady was just there...but the code was not working for us...unit manger says' i dont know what to tell you'...!!! Now, i realize that there is no one there, on site, to help us. All this is managed NOT from the island of Kauai...they have no contact person that lives on the island- called the cleaning lady to come back to let us in. Thank God for the cleaning lady, because we wouldn't have gotten in. Then microwave didnt work, they brought a new one in. Need a ' laundry app' to do laundry! Employees were nice. Unit manager helped as much as she could but the fact they have no contact person on the island is alarming.

The property is a little dated but its clean and well stocked

The property has recycling rules, however there aren't recycling bins in the unit have been provided. They have a kitchen but there is no toaster or kettle, a coffee maker is not working properly, coockware are very old. Other than that its a good location, walkable distance to grocery stores and a nice market.

Property is centrally located end unit and plenty roomy for two. We had a hotel room in the Shores last time and really found the full kitchen and extra bedroom a nice benefit this time for similar cost. The premises are well looked after and clean. It was quiet, one night some youngsters were making excessive noise but at 10 o’clock security came and shut them down never to be heard from again. Had a lanei overlooking mountains to west and pool area. The shopping centre is a few hundred feet away and had markets Tuesday/Thursday for fresh produce. Parking spaces roomy enough. Laundry onsite is a glitch… automated and a special card needs to be purchased so it’s expensive like $20 for a few loads … coin laundromat is nearby in Kapaa… you can go for shave ice nearby while you do the laundry. Like $3 for wash n dry a load. Smart TV with full cable TV etc in each room. Bed was very comfy, we like a firmer mattress. Nāpali Coast is 40 minutes one way and Waimea Canyon is an hour the other way. We would book this again, not sure what others have been complained about. For the dollar it is a great unit.

It was so cute & clean place, I wish the bed was a little softer but overall I will definitely book again. Plenty of towels, pillows, dishes, & again very clean!! Candace was responsive, very personable & sweet. Thank you for a great stay!!

The C-16 is conveniently located near many restaurants and shops to visit. It’s very close to a grocery store; however, the prices at this store are higher than average. This place shouldn’t be compared to a resort, nor should one expect a resort lifestyle here. The landscaping is kept up and the pool/hot tub is clean and well-maintained. Others have posted there is no showerhead installed, there is and it works fine. The place came with towels, soaps and TP. The TVs are fine and there is a Roku setup, so you can log into your online TV entertainment – just remember to log out. We did not use the WIFI, so no comments. With regards to “rust” here and there, yes there is some on the Frig which could be easily fixed with white appliance paint. Keep in mind this is a tropical area and I’ve stayed at nice resorts that had mildew issues due to the humidity. Any place near a beach seems to attract rust.
With regards to the AC unit, it doesn’t cool the bedroom down much at night. It’s located out in the main room with a wall divider. I would recommend the landlord spring for another AC unit for this room and have someone install it. Other- small coffee machine works in a pinch. The microwave and toaster are fine. There is a cooler and beach chairs- other items. In summary, the C-16 is a good choice because it is centrally located in a popular part of Kauai + reasonably priced (for us). Communication with the landlord regarding any questions was quick.

The apartment is old, the AC is very noisy, the bed is small and the mattress is hard and not comfortable.
I would not recommend it.

The photos are deceiving - this unit should be cheaper. The refrigerator has really bad rust stains on the side that need to be addressed. There were silverware and plates that were still wet inside the drawers and cabinets and smelled of food. The garbage disposal had not been run and there was still food inside. There were ant traps left in the cupboards next to open coffee filters and the plates and cups. We were not a fan of this as poison should not be in the same area as these items. They left a used sponge for us on the sink even though there were clean sponges available in the cabinet. We couldn't open the 2 windows in the kitchen/living area - one of the windowsills had holes in it so bugs could get in, and the other window's screen was not installed correctly. One of the bathroom lighting fixtures had a broken bulb in it. There was no shower curtain liner, we had to buy one ourselves from Ross. The unit is overall in need of maintenance/repair, including the bathroom door, medicine cabint mirror, and bathroom granite slab is cracked. The ceiling in the shower area is also in need of new paint. There were 2 used papertowels left in the bedroom - one by the bed on the floor and one in a dresser drawer. One of the light bulbs in the bedroom had a lampshade just sitting on top of it - which is a fire hazard. That lightbulb was coated in dead flies/the lamp base covered in rust. 1 beach chair & the umbrella were broken. The linen closet was disorganized/messy.

The condo was as advertised. Candace and team were very friendly and prompt with communication.

We loved being on Kauai and found the location very central to destinations north and south. Lots of fun things to do nearby. Pleasant temps and quiet curfews made it possible to sleep with the windows open.

Nice place to stay at an affordable price. Thank you!

The positive first. The condo is idealy located in Kapa'a to explore Kauai.
Nearby there is a small shopping center, reachable by foot. Communication with the property management was very good, friendly. They did allow us to check-out later and stay in the condo due to our later return flight.
Hower there where also some negativ points.
The condo we encountered did unfortunately not match the described 4.9 star rating.
Our condo made a worn and not everywhere clean impression on us.
The very noisy air conditioner was dusty and aggravated. The eating utensils, pans, etc were not all clean and were apparently also used as tools by previous guests. The outside of the refrigerator is covered with rust stains, as well as other appliances.
The lights in the living room and bathroom only worked partially. Many metallic elements e.g. lamp switch where rusty.
The interior and exterior of the apartment did not give the impression of a 4.9 star accommodation!
This was our fourth accommodation in Hawaii and by far the worst. The photos on Vrbo make a much better impression than the reality.
Property management described it as a "budget" accomandation.
This condo is in need of further renovation.

The apartment we stayed in was great because we had a kitchen and were able to cook food when we didnt want to go out. One complaint is that it did not get cold enough in the room, night time sleeping was still a little warm. We had to run a couple different fans. I will also say that some things could have been cleaner such as the shower walls and ceiling area. Other than that I would say it was a great experience and didn't break the bank like so many hotels do.

Apartment was a little shabby, and tbh a little dirty in a couple spots. It wasn't a huge problem. Very nice to have a kitchen so that we can cook food if we don't want to go out.

Property was clean and centrally located. There was a cooler, chairs and body boards in the rental which saved money on rentals.

Property was a good centralized location between the east and west sides of the island. Very close to amenities such as the Coconut Marketplace as well as restaurants . A very good fit to our needs for our visit to Kauai.

This is an older property that has been maintained well. Location is great for anywhere on the island. Our Unit C16 was clean and well equipped. Windows could use a little maintenance as they were difficult to operate. Being a corner unit we got a nice cross breeze going so did not need the AC. A little too close to the main road for us so traffic noise was annoying at times.

Excellent location. Cannot hear the roosters in the morning, so that was great.

My husband was running in 4 half marathons, 4 days in a row. We have stayed at Plantation Hale once before. The condo was perfect for us. We had all we needed. Thank you!

Nice condo, no complaints. Nice pools and hot tub is HOT. Clean and well stocked. Beach towels and chairs were very nice. It is right along the stretch of road that has really bad traffic, which is a bit annoying. Coming again, if probably stay on another part of the island, but if you are trying to explore the entire island, it is centrally located.

This was our first time to Kauai and we would be delighted to return and to return to this unit. Although older, it was clean and worked well for us. Looking forward to coming back.

The property and condo were well maintained. Would definitely stay again

The location of this property can't be beaten. Walking distance to the beach, to the grocery store, yummy restaurants, and other hotels. Also, Kapa'a is a great location on the east side to easily get to the north side of the island, and the south side (both of which I would recommend). We were able to get free and awesome concierge services and they helped us book kayaking, hiking, and dining experiences. That was a helpful perk! The place is definitely older, but we were willing to look past this due to the location.
6.0
We showed up at check in time with a car full of groceries and were told our unit was not ready. This is disappointing. No accomodation were made.
The property and unit was a bit dingy. Location is good. Not on the beach but easy to get to and close to shops restaurants.
It is best for 2 people not 4. The set up for 4 was poor. We are a family of 4. Our children are 12 and 16 but adult sized ( we are a tall family). The extra beds provided was a twin blow up and twin fold out foam mattress we were told about this in advance. They would work for smaller lighter children but not older children or adults. There was only one extra blanket. luckily we had brought a sleeping bag for another purpose. There was only 3 beach towels. 2 were good the other was thin and small. They mentioned boogie boards in the listing but there were no boogie boards available.
The bedroom is really warm. The air conditioning is in the main room and does not get to the bedroom. There is one fan provided. There was no shower head and the bathroom is dingy. We had towels with stains on them. We would not stay in this unit again and probably not this property.

We had a wonderful stay! Perfect room to return to at the end of a day of adventuring! We liked that there was a small kitchen where we could make breakfast and have coffee before leaving for the day. It was a good price considering we weren’t spending too much time in the room.
10.0
It was good! Only thing I didn't like was checking out room service wanted us to leave early and asked us at 8am if we could let them know when we were leaving so they could clean the room... I feel they could after 10am check out. Don't bother people on there vacation
10.0
Great location. It is an older property, but we would stay there again.
8.0
Property was within easy access to north and south shore of Kauai. Shopping was a easy walk from our unit.
The unit itself was fine with all items for preparing meals.
The negative was the very small a/c unit crammed into a corner of the living room (assumed we had central a/c). the unit did not cool any area of the living room (cool air went about two feet and stopped). This along with the hot humid weather last week was not what we expected.
The unit was also very close to route 56 and the road noise was very loud-all day and night.
Overall we stayed away from the unit as long as possible-no cool unit, road noise.
