We have had a lovely week at janeville cottage. There is always room for improvement perhaps, like a working dishwasher perhaps. Other than that it was great

Older house with character but very modern with all the conveniences, clean and with a view that can’t be beaten.
Within walking distance of the local hotel, try their steak pie, a cafe and two smaller grocery stores. Plenty of on-site parking. The hosts are friendly and can’t do enough for you but respect your privacy. Would highly recommend. Thank you Natalie and John for making our visit so enjoyable.

Had a fantastic stay at this property. Very clean and comfortable throughout with all the finishing touches, such as a welcome basket (with biscuits, coffee, wine and whisky). Would definitely stay here again when we return to Argyll/Kintyre area. Beautiful views over Loch Gilp. Handy for amenities and also ferry links to the Southern Hebrides. Mr and Mrs Law were so helpful.

Very comfortable apartment with pleasing decor, comfortable furnishings and stunning views
We enjoyed a very pleasant 2 weeks in this ground floor apartment and received a warm welcome from the owners, Natalie and John.
Everywhere was spotlessly clean on arrival. The kitchen fittings were very new and well laid out with the added benefit of a small dishwasher which we very much appreciated on the days we ate "at home". The house is well set back from the main road and we slept very soundly in the master bedroom. We had plenty of storage for our belongings and also appreciated the comfort of the living room sofa and armchairs.
The location in Ardrishaig worked very well for us, being within a couple of minutes' walk of a very good bistro-type restaurant and bar (Grey Gull Inn), and from convenience stores and a cafe, as well as for walks from the doorstep along the shore of Loch Gilp and Loch Fyne and the towpath of the Crinan Canal. We also enjoyed visiting the excellent Egg Shed museum down the road (free admission) which documents the history of the Crinan Canal.
It was also sited perfectly for driving to/walking in Kilmartin Glen (with standing stones, stone circles and Dunadd hill fort), Knapdale Forest and picturesque spots down the Kintyre peninsula (some of our favourites being Tarbert, Carradale Beach and Westport beach).
Lochgilphead, just up the road, has some good independent shops and for more amenities we enjoyed Oban which is less than an hour's very scenic drive away.
In spite of some poor weather we very much enjoyed our stay in the apartment and exploring this part of Argyll, and would love to visit again in the future. A big thank you to the owners for their warm welcome and useful advice and for providing a comfortable and spacious apartment.
