About this house rental
Gorgeous, Inspirational, Roomy Lakefront home! Looking for a getaway to provide peace, with plenty of play opportunities? Take the time to look through all our reviews and photos. NOW, picture YOURSELF in this setting. We still have bookings available through end of year.
You will love this 2,300+ square feet, two story, open layout home! It is situated facing south on an unshared 1/2 acre of land we call Turtle Point. You will have wonderful views of sunrise and sunsets! Lakefront on three sides, its many deep windows provide spectacular views in every direction, every season. Located directly on a 66 acre, natural, quiet, great fishing lake, Turtle Point is delightful, and we have our own private beach area.
While best suited for 6-8 people, Turtle Point Lodge sleeps up to 12, with three private bedrooms and two queen sleeper sofas in the two separate living areas. There are two bathrooms, one on each level. Sparkling new kitchen is well furnished. Dining table can seat ten, and in addition, there are two barstools at the counter, or, more informally, use the tray tables.
You can spend your time here all to yourselves. (A common comment in our guest book is, "WE NEVER LEFT!") Or get out and enjoy the local activities. In the heart of the Irish Hills recreation area, our friendly towns are no strangers to tourists. Brooklyn and Tecumseh in particular have quaint, specialty shops, farmers markets, antiques, wineries, (One is just a half mile down the road!) parades, festivals and summer fun. Michigan International Speedway is only 3-4 miles away! This UNIQUE home and property are wonderful EVERY time of the year!!
Fall offers the changing colors with an edge of summer activities and the ability to hunker down and watch the weather! A crisp fall day still brings lots of opportunities to find a spot in the warm sun, out of the breeze. The lake is an ever-changing panorama of migrating birds or other wildlife. If you are a hunter, there are many acres of State Land nearby. And you will want to go to Knutson's in Brooklyn for your hunting or fishing needs and to see the "buck pole" on opening day of hunting season! If you have never been to Cabela's, it is an experience itself, about 45 minutes away for a rainy day, in Dundee. Campfires with s'mores are perfect anytime, and there is always the 5-person hot tub to enjoy!
Winter is beautiful, watching the weather from the warmth and coziness of your home. You might want to think about celebrating a holiday or special occasion where you can gather a good-sized group. You can sit back and watch it snow from the comfort of home, or you can sled and slide on the ice, or watch (or be!) an ice fisherman. Can you imagine sitting in the hot tub on the deck, directly under the stars? You can even be served in an igloo at a local winery.
Nite Lites at MIS is a spectacular show, fun for the family - November 22 thru Jan. 5 - a 6-mile Christmas drive-thru! Make popcorn, watch a good movie (large selection of DVDs) or sports program, and/or play some family games - Bingo, Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader, Junga, Family Charades, etc.
New life awakens in the spring. Little traffic on our road makes it a good place to get out and take exploratory walks. You might see migrating swans and returning birds. Turtles begin to crawl out to bask in the sun and you can enjoy the hot tub. We now have a floating DIVING AND FISHING PLATFORM! It's hard to find this large a lot on a lake! No close neighbors to bother, or to bother YOU! We are all ready to jump into summer activities!
Summers are perfect here at the lake. You may wish to book for 2025 season soon, as our summer weeks go fast. We have a large, sandy beach area with shallows for the kids. Large yard play areas for family sports - ladder golf and bag toss provided. We have many beach chairs, both Adirondack and cloth chairs, picnic table, benches and a glider, even children's chairs. Paddleboat, 6 kayaks, rowboat, sand/beach toys and life preservers are on-site. We can rent you a pontoon and/or Captain Neil is sometimes available to host pontoon rides or for campfire crooning! You may also bring your own small boat or jet-ski.
Turtle Point loves to host special events! We have had family groups from all over, a book club, 10 men from an extended family, prayer group, anniversary celebration, 6 sisters, golf outing, even a wedding! You might want to consider hosting your family over a holiday at this large, lovely, very clean home!
There is no off-season to this beautiful property! Hot tub, campfire, leisure spaces anytime! Huge TVs, comfy seating and gas fireplace make the living area so homey, while the deep windows let you look out at the lake in comfort. The beautiful, new, full kitchen, again with lake view, provides a great place for cooking and eating. When searching for your dream vacation getaway, be sure you are comparing apples to apples! Read our 5-star reviews!
Please note: sorry, but for everyone’s peace of mind, we are not allowing pets, and no smoking is allowed in the house. Many perks not listed - like the natural gas grill on deck for all-season use, big 68" and 58" TVs. Firewood provided for your campfire.
This home is great for the nature lover - beauty, peace, relaxation. Even with 12 people you can find a quiet spot! You can fish right off the dock, great for kids and children at heart! Indoor and outdoor games, books, DVDs. WiFi available for your entertainment or for work needs if you must, with desk area. One of our recent reviews: “Amazing Family Vacation at Turtlepoint Lodge!
Me, my husband and 5 kids choose a different vacation house to rent in Michigan each summer. This home is by far our favorite! The house, property, and lake blew us away the moment we walked in. The house is huge with many places to relax away from the group. It is immaculately clean and has everything you would need to enjoy your stay. The owners are very kind and helpful. We enjoyed our family time so much here, the kids are begging to stay here every summer from now on. We feel beyond blessed and will carry these memories forever. Thank you for everything!”
FYI NOTE: We have installed an air scrubber with ActivePure Technology in both zones of the heating/cooling ducts to create a cleaner, healthier living environment. Their ads say it kills over 99% of viruses, mold, and bacteria on surfaces as well as in the air!

We had a wonderful time. A beautiful home on a small lake was perfect for a weekend getaway with girlfriends. There was plenty of space for all of us. The location was lovely. The host put such thoughtful touches, such as fresh flowers on the dining room table, coffee mugs filled with candy and a ribbon, and a set of towels for each guest, toys inside and outside for kids and several seating areas outside the home. Loved the screened in porch. There was everything we needed in the kitchen for our dinners. Plenty of space at the dining room table for games, Several large TV's. The hot tub was very relaxing. We were able to walk to North of 12. The hosts truly care about the comfort of their guests. Would highly recommend

Plenty of room for the family. Nice little beach for the kids to swim whenever they wished. Appreciated the personal contact with the rental manager to answer questions. We would hope to stay again!

The house is beautiful. There are so many places to gather with your family and enjoy each other’s presence.
We were able to cook effortlessly in the spacious kitchen. The hot tub provided a way to relax after a long day in the water. And most importantly there were all the water activities you could think of.
My family had a blast!

The house was clean and beautiful. We had a great time enjoying the paddle boat and paddle boarding. Evening campfire was nice. The owners were friendly and available for our questions. We traveled to the nearby wineries, shops and restaurants. Thanks Gail for a wonderful visit.

Family had a great time. The kids (from 1-7) loved playing in the sand - that was an awesome addition to the property! Everyone enjoyed the fishing from the dock. We had a problem with the motorboat that we reserved and Neil was on site within minutes both times we called to assist. He was able to provide us with a pontoon for the last two days when the problem couldn’t be resolved. The owners were very accommodating and readily available for any questions. The house is beautiful and has many videos, games and books which we made use of in the evenings. We plan to return next year.

I have 5 young granddaughters. It was perfect for them. A beach and a place to swim. They have never been fishing before so we fished off the dock. They were very excited to catch fish. Of course I had to bait the hooks, remove the fish, and throw them back in.
Overall a lot of great memories.

My entire extended family thoroughly enjoyed our time at Turtle Point! All the water "toys" (i.e., boats) were a huge plus. We loved being on the lake and away from other houses. It felt very private. The house is beautiful. Gail and company were wonderful hosts and were even able to accommodate my request for a late check out time. We were in town for a family wedding, and this was the perfect place to relax in between events. We rented Neil's pontoon boat which was a lot of fun.

Turtle Point was the perfect getaway with excellent hosts. We had everything we needed for our stay. Gail was super responsive to any questions.
The house and property are beautiful and well maintained. We were there in the spring, so the fireplace was especially cozy on the cool mornings and evenings. On the warm afternoons, the screened-in porch was perfect for enjoying a bottle of wine and the beautiful lake view.
We’re looking forward to returning in the summer and taking advantage of all the warm weather amenities!

This lakehouse had gorgeous views that over looked a small lake. Lots of things to do on the property..fishing, swimming, hot tubbing, paddle boating and kayaking. At night, there is a large dining room table where we would all play cards and play board games. During the Saturday of our stay, our oldest daughter graduated from college, so we were able to have friends and family come visit for a little bbq with plenty of room for those that were not staying over. For those that did stay over, there was plenty of space for those to find a comfortable spot and there was plenty of extra linens and bedding which was so helpful and accomodating. Everything was great and we hope to return hopefully sometime in the near future.

Turtle Point Lodge is an excellent place to spend a quiet weekend. It was made for spending quality time with friends and time away from screens. The house was great, loved the area and the lake, and spent time at some local restaurants. Thanks, Gail!

Visited with some friends over the holidays to get in some late-year hiking and get away from the mundane stuff. It was well articulated for rules, well furnished and stocked for household needs. No complaints for the property that wasn't discussed and handled with the owner. We couldn't even use much of the options since so much is available on the water and we were there during winter. Would definitely consider this spot again next time we visit the area!

The home was beautiful and spacious. The beds were comfortable. The only downside was the age of the furniture. It was on the shabby side and I felt like I stepped into the 1970s. The couch in the living room was not very comfortable. And there were portions of the couch where you just sink in.

I gifted my husband with a NASCAR racing experience at the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, and we chose this property to stay in while we were in town. Another couple came with us, and the four of us had plenty of space to tool around in.
We enjoyed the lake view, and lazily pontooning around in the lake in the afternoons. We also made good use of the outdoor hot tub.
As fortune would have it, I got word that my best friend died, the morning we were supposed to check out. I relayed the news to our host, Gail, and she willingly accepted us as guests for another night, so that we could collect ourselves. She did not charge us.
I don't know what else to say other than I like staying in the homes of good-hearted people. And I'd stay again.

Our stay at Gails place was exceptional. We appreciated how close to our wedding venue in Brooklyn. Everyone thought her place was beautiful and comfortable. We truly enjoyed the hot tub. The kids were able to use the kayaks. The beds were very comfortable and plenty of linen. We appreciated a downstairs bedroom for my family members. Thank you Gail for an exceptional stay. My family and I truly enjoyed your place for four nights. We hope to return for a more relaxing week next year and explore the local places. I love the wine..Summer Breeze one of my new favorites ❤️ thanks so much The Clarks

Loved everything about this place! Everything we needed was provided, so nice to not have to think about the little things - they thought of everything! We used the grill, the kayaks, the paddle boat, the hot tub, the toys, the firepits, the campchairs, and even rented the pontoon :). The screened porch was our favorite space, and the kitchen and dining area were perfect for eveything from our quick snacks for the kids, to all sitting down for our family dinners. Easy check in and out and we can't wait to come back!

We had 7 friends from my work place(couple of us retired already) decided to do a get together to relax and reminisce. Upon walking in, we were all taken back at how beautiful, clean and awesome this home was! The owners were very responsive to my questions and check in and out was very easy.
The home had EVERYTHING you could possibly want while on vacation. Towels, linens, stocked kitchen and bathrooms, kids toys, beach chairs, beach toys, kayaks and paddle boards, fire pit and a pontoon boat available(to rent) that was at the dock the second we pulled up! There were big TV’s for viewing everywhere with DVD’s available to choose from and beautiful fresh flowers and a bottle of wine welcoming us. The beach area was perfect with a little sandy area too. If you wanted a little “me” time, there is a really nice screened in porch area or a 2 bench private area under the trees to maybe sit and read a book. There also was a hot tub right on the back deck for enjoyment next to the grill available for cooking and eating on the deck or the picnic table on the beach.
I don’t mean to be going on and on, but really, all 7 of us thought this home was one of the best homes we’ve stayed at- I would certainly recommend this to anyone wanting a perfect stay!
Thank you for a wonderful and memorable weekend.

This house was large enough to accommodate 9 of us this year, ages 17-72. Plenty of room to hang out together and spread out as well. The upstairs loft area was a good hangout for the younger ones and has an outdoor deck to sit outside and enjoy the nice breeze. It also has a pullout sofa for extra sleeping accommodations. The 4 girls loved the bedroom with 2 bunk beds with full size beds on the bottom.
There’s a great screened in porch with great views to enjoy while drinking coffee in the morning or after dinner without any bugs getting you. It also leads out to the firepit and cute little garden area with a picnic table.
The back deck right off the kitchen has a hot tub. You can also see the turtles lounging on the logs in the water near the shore.
Just steps from the deck is the boat dock. You can fish right from the dock. 2 paddle boats along with several kayaks and a paddle board. Plenty of life jackets and the owners even wash and keep them clean and ready for going into the water.
We rented the pontoon for the week and could come and go from the water whenever we wanted. Comes with tube to pull and kneeboard. Lake is smaller and not busy.
Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook your meals. Nice gas grill as well. 2nd full refrigerator upstairs which was helpful.
Owners were extremely helpful and responsive. We had 2 questions and they responded within a few minutes. House is clean and well maintained. Would highly recommend!
