Handy location, reasonable price and modern
Aircon did not work in one of our two rooms. The beds are small and the pillows are hopelessly soft. The kitchen is practically useless. They make you use an app to pay for the washing machines. The app, from Miele, is complicated, unstable and overly intrusive. You have to buy credits in advance which they promise to reimburse if unused. I am still waiting...
I booked in March. I requested two rooms on the same floor. Yet in August they could do no better than offer me one room on the first floor and the other on the seventh!
If you suffer from claustrophobia, this place is to be avoided!
This place is ideal for young singles making extended visits to Helsinki for work. They should not be selling it to families on vacation.

Quick checkin, friendly staff. Facilities in the room, the design in general, light blocking curtains, nice shower, very clean room, kitchenette with microwave, fridge and dishwasher, soundprofing, tramway stops nearby. Lidl and ferry terminal T2 at walking distance. Most of all: the top-floor sauna with a view!
Breakfast was ok, but can imagine guests would prefer a 'bigger' breakfast. Also, some sachets of coffee and tea for the first day would be helpful when arriving after 21:00.

This is a clean, modern, and efficient living space. The duplex “studios” are larger than you’d expect, although people over 6ft tall will find themselves very close to the ceiling when standing on the mezzanine. The bathroom is spacious and beautifully finished, although the luxury finish is let down by a cheap flimsy plastic toilet seat.
The location is fine (the 9 and 9B trams get you into central Helsinki within 15 minutes) and it’s fairly close to the Western ferry terminal, for those travelling from/to Tallinn. But be warned that this whole area of Helsinki is a bit of a building site right now, and there aren’t many bars / restaurants / shops in the immediate vicinity yet.
The stairs up to the mezzanine are surprisingly steep, and unlit at night (unless you turn ALL the lights on), making nocturnal toilet trips unexpectedly challenging. Also challenging is the lack of any storage space in the “bedroom”, aside from a small bedside table – I assume you’re meant to use the wardrobe in the living room for clothes storage. Odd design choice.
But what really aggravated me during my stay, and makes me leave such a middling review score, is that—for a place that describes itself as a hotel, suitable for a stay as short as a single night—no tea or coffee is provided with the room. Even the cheapest hotels I’ve stayed in have provided a sachet of instant coffee. Not UNITY. There’s a kettle and a cafetière in the in the studio’s kitchen, but no tea bags, no coffee, no sugar, no milk. I asked about this at reception and was told I could buy a cup of coffee for 3€. I’m sorry, I just find that unacceptable. When I’m paying close to £100 a night, nickel-and-diming me on coffee by the cup is pure cheek. Especially when people coworking on the ground floor (behind an entry gate) appear to have use of a self-service coffee machine for free.
I’m not saying you have to splash out on a Nespresso machine in each studio (although I note that 4 out of the 5 similarly priced hotels I’ve stayed in this month, before this one, have all included a machine and free capsules in the room) – but what would it cost to give residents one or two cups of free filter coffee from the urn downstairs?
I never knew I could get so angry about coffee, but I guess that’s the sort of self-discovery you get for free with a stay at UNITY.

Das Hotel war, für den Preis wirklich top, sehr modern und trotzdem bequem und einladend. Einziger Kritikpunkt wäre das Frühstück, da ist der Preis wirklich zu hoch angesetzt. 8 Euro wären für die kleine Auswahl, völlig ausreichend. Sonst aber sehr empfehlenswert.

スタッフもみんなフレンドリーで親切ーお泊まりの方も、皆さん良い方ばかりで、安心で、気持ち良く滞在できました。早目に到着で荷物を預けようとしたら、お部屋を案内してくれて嬉しかった。場所は、中心地から少し離れているが、かえって静かな住宅地ートラムのバス停からも近く便利で、動きやすかった。近くスーパーもあり助かりました。日帰りタリンは、フェリーの乗場まで徒歩で行け、カンピから日帰りバス旅も、トラムで直ぐ！中央駅、中心地もこの９番のトラムで一本！！部屋は、想像以上に素敵で快適でした。キッチン設備も充分。何よりもサウナ、最高でした！！！
次回は、もっと長く滞在させて頂きます。どうもありがとうございました。

Sijainti Jätkäsaaressa on erinomainen. Keskustasta pääsee perille 9 ratikalla nopeasti. Lähellä on paljon hyviä ravintoloita. Upea näköala saunan kattoterassilta!
Huoneet ei ole kovin kodikkaita ja ruokapöytä olisi saanut olla korkea baaripöytä, että olisi nähnyt ikkunasta ulos.

L'appartamento è architettato in un unico vano che disloca un piano superiore
ed inferiore in un'unica grande stanza. Le scale interne permettono un letto
matrimoniale con soppalco. Giù si trova il soggiorno, l'angolo cottura e servizi.
L'entrata del residence è dotata di una funzionale porta automatica e la
reception è presente 24 ore al giorno. La presenza di tre ascensori rende
agevole la salita ai piani superiori. Un ottimo giudizio, una nuova esperienza.

The necessary tools are in the rooms. I cooked my own food. I felt like I was at home. The staff are very polite and kind.

Ce sont des appart’hotels très moderne et spacieux. Le lieu est propre et les équipements permettent de cuisiner. Le lit est confortable grâce au surmatelas mis en place.
Avant notre arrivée, il faut télécharger une application afin d’obtenir sa clé online. C’est seulement arrivés à l’hôtel que nous avons su que nous pouvions avoir une carte pour entrer dans la chambre mais cela n’est pas inscrit dans les messages et cela insiste à créer un compte et d’avoir une connexion internet en Finlande. De plus, nous étions présents 4 nuits pendant la période de grand froid qui a sévit en Scandinavie. Les fenêtres des appartements sont immenses, le froid rentre donc très facilement quand on s’approche des fenêtres. Nous avons demandé un autre chauffage car il est impossible de régler le chauffage au sein des chambres. L’hôtel a tout réglé à 18 alors qu’il faisait -20 dehors durant des semaines. Il faisait plus chaud dans le couloir que dans les chambres. Nous avons pu avoir un mini chauffage la dernière nuit après plusieurs relance.

Das Studio ist klasse. Es bietet viel Platz und Stauraum und ist sehr modern. Die Ausstattung mit z.B. Küchenutensilien ist auch wunderbar.
Die Mitarbeitenden vor Ort waren sehr freundlich.
Alles lief einwandfrei. Es wird nur ein Mal pro Woche gereinigt. Das fand ich sehr gut, denn ich war 5 Tage dort und brauchte keine Reinigung o.ä.
Die Sauna in der 8. Etage mit Blick Richtung Meer ist auch wirklich toll.
Zwei Tram-Linien sind in unmittelbarer Nähe und auch Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind fußläufig schnell erreichbar.
Das Bett inkl. Kissen waren für mein Empfinden etwas zu fest. Das Frühstück ist etwas beschränkt.

Also bitte sehr aufpassen. Außerdem war die WiFi oft sehr schlecht verbunden. Ich konnte mit Laptop streaming gucken. Aber mit Handy dann gar nicht. Oft konnte ich sogar nicht Webseite öffnen, oder nicht Video anrufen.

The staff was absolutely lovely and that included every single staft member I interacted with.. Breakfast was a nice set-up. The studios are well designed and pleasant to both work and relax in. Unity is located in a relatively quiet neighborhood, close to the water, and yet close to central Helsinki.
I worked from the hotel for a full day and would easily do it again.
Note: The hotel flooded during my stay and received such intense water damage that I was forced to spend two nights at another hotel. This was not, however, the fault of the hotel and they took great care of me, arranging a stay at a hotel just down the street.
It would have been nice to have some coffee and tea in the room.

A modern hotel that is well suited for a longer stay and for working as well. Our room was very quiet and we slept well. Good air conditioning. Nice roof-top bar & sauna with a stunning view. Some of the staff at the reception were friendly and helpful.
This hotel could have easily got a full rating from me if they had paid a little more attention to service & maintenance. The rooms are only cleaned once a week (which we weren't informed about at check-in). Even toilet paper is not replenished, you have to go and ask for more at the reception. During our 1.5 week stay, our drain got blocked, we ran out of garbage bags, we ran out of toilet paper all the time, the hand-held shower lost pressure, the Wi-FI crashed a few times (conveniently just before a Teams meeting). The floors got quite dirty, so it would have been nice to be able to at least borrow a vacuum cleaner since cleaning was only once a week.
