About this house rental
Enjoy a memorable beach vacation with your family and friends at the Casa Vista Mare Beach Retreat! This beachfront oasis is just steps away from the shore via your own private walkway where you can dig your toes in the sand or search for sea shells. Sometimes you can even get a glimpse of some of our Florida wildlife on your walk to the beach, such as rabbits or tortoises. When you return from the beach, or from exploring the historic downtown district, you will be able to relax in this two-story slice of paradise. Your morning coffee can be sipped on on the deck as you watch the sunrise and listen to the waves lap at the shore.
This home is perfect for two families to share, as the two levels of the house have their own private entrances and there is no stairs inside the house that connect the two floors! The bottom floor has 3 bedrooms (one with a king bed, one with a queen bed, and one with 2 twin beds) and one bathroom. The upstairs has 2 bedrooms (one is the master with a king bed and the other has a queen bed) and 2 full bathrooms. The full kitchen is located upstairs and there is a kitchenette downstairs.
The history of St. Augustine is incomparable with almost any other on our coast. Founded in 1565 it is chock full of amazing places to visit, from the oldest house to the first schoolroom, to the impenetrable fort built by the Spanish. Lincolnville, just south of downtown St. Augustine takes you on a walking tour of the history of the civil rights movement noting where Martin Luther King stayed on numerous occasions. Needless to say, there’s also so many unique shops, and the restaurants are so varied and truly have an international flavor! There are things to do no matter the weather! You can take a free boat ride to Fort Matanzas and learn the history about the battles fought. Further south is Marineland where you can swim with dolphins!
The St. Augustine and St Johns County area have a great variety of golf courses for players of every level and skill. There are always concerts at St. Augustine Amphitheatre and events at Francis Field as well. You will never run out of things to do here in St. Augustine. It is probably one of the most beautiful places in all of Florida, and for sure one of the most photographed! Come and see for yourself!

Absolutely loved it!! Other than no GB Packer cups but did have Viking & 49’ers, our stay was perfect!😄💚💛 Our family runs very hard 51 weeks a year so this one week is a well needed break & it was so wonderful! From coffee on the walkway watching the sunrise to grilling brat’s & burgers for a night in.

We had family arriving for multiple places for a family event. It rained much of the time but this place gave us an awesome home base for all with room for gathering and great views of the ocean. When the rain let up, it was a quick walk down the private path to the beach.

What a great week our family had in this fabulous beach house! The view was beautiful, the boardwalk was so easy, and the house was spacious. With 3 babies under 2, the proximity to the beach was nice! The lower level was perfect for our 2 children and their families. The outside stairs didn’t seem to be an issue, but we had great weather. Thank you for such a special week for our family! We will definitely be back!

We enjoyed the house and location to meet the needs for our daughter to celebrate her birthday with a low- key enjoyable beach weekend with a few friends. The accommodations were a good fit, in addition to the awesome beach access. We enjoyed our stay.

We had a blast! Florida summers mean pop-up rain and it was so nice to be oceanfront and not have to worry every time it looks like weather might change. The beds are comfortable. The place was well cleaned. Fans in most bedrooms. Comfortable seating for two families. And it is appropriately priced. We will return.

I love the beach and this house is so convenient to enjoy the beach. Four of my friends enjoyed several days of golf, food, ocean, and sunshine. Plenty of room to spread out between 5 bedrooms and a big porch. We grilled dinner and explored the entire neighborhood.

This property could not have been cleaner or more beautiful. Ocean views were amazing, everything was so comfortable. The person who left the negative comments last month must have been a real peach because it doesn't get any nicer than this. Highly recommended!!!

This place could not have been more misrepresented on VRBO SITE!!
Upon driving up to this house it looked like a shack!
Then entering the first floor, we were met with an overwhelming mold smell. To the point I questioned if we should leave. We thought maybe to air it out and get the fans running. NO CAN DO, there are NO screens on any window or door wall!!! Also, only two ceiling fans on the first floor. We called and complained so the manager put in OZONE air cleaners in all three bedrooms on the first floor. We were told not to go in until the OZONE filters were done (approximately 2 hours). What??? All our stuff was in there; clothes, toiletries etc. we went to the second floor (beach level) and stayed up there with my brothers family. The smell was so bad it permeated through the floor and into that floor as well. We were hopeful that maybe it would get better. However it got worse. We waited the two hours and went down to the first floor. It smelled like someone doused the first floor with chlorine!!! It was so bad we started to cough and have drainage from our noses. A quick search of the OZONE air cleaner indicates that upon cleaning the air of mold spores it produces three types of oxygen, one of which is dangerous in high levels. A slight chlorine smell is “ok” however it was absolutely overpowering so we decided to vacate the first floor and sleep on the beach level (second floor). The smell was bad there too but we were able to open the door wall so people could monitor if any animals or huge bugs got in. Then we left the door open to the second floor as well to try and air it out. We put on the ceiling fans and eventually we could breath a bit more comfortably but don’t misunderstand it was still extremely uncomfortable!!! I had a headache and felt woozy the whole time staying there. This was definitely a learning experience! The second floor is on a slant. When I got up I lost my balance. The bed we slept in was so rock hard my hips hurt! My kids had to sleep on the sofas! Such a waste of money! Never again!!!!!! I took pictures. However this review does not give an option to upload pictures. Trust me the pictures you see aren’t even close to what it smells and looks like. NEVER AGAIN!!

We had an excellent stay. The house was clean and well stocked. The boardwalk to the beach was a huge hit. The beach itself was clean and quite with only snowbirds or families. Definitely plan to visit here again.

The home had a beautiful view and private access to the beach. The upstairs and downstairs were perfect for our family. The only thing we noticed were that there were lots of spider webs along the track lighting in the living room and the master shower did not drain well, you were letting standing in ankle deep water. Otherwise, it was a great location and great beach home. The property manager was very prompt and easy to communicate with.

Beautiful house on the beach!
We had a wonderful relaxing time at this beach home. Communication was quick and easy the only time we needed to ask a question. The boardwalk from the house to the ocean was always an experience looking for the tortoises, rabbits and other animals. Our family would recommend this home 100 percent.

Perfect Beachside home
David and Patti were amazing hosts. The house was beautiful and the private access to the beach made you feel like you were in a private island. The house was only minutes to downtown St Augustine. The house was clean and spacious enough for a fun family vacation. We highly recommend!
