Je recommande pour les petits budgets qui veulent un confort minimal !

La chambre double était située à l’étage et avait sa salle de bain privée, la climatisation et un brasseur d’air qui étaient appréciables. Nous avons également utilisé la terrasse partagée qui permet de profiter de l’ambiance du quartier tout en se sentant chez soi. L’emplacement est idéal puisque nous avons pu visiter toute l’île en prenant des bus (ZR principalement) et le quartier est le plus animé de l’île. Les plages proches de la maison sont super (Dover et Worthing), nous avons vu des tortues vertes et brunes à chaque fois !

La douche se bouchait régulièrement sûrement à cause du sable, la pluie s’entendait fortement lors des averses nocturnes du à une isolation accoustique sommaire mais dans l’ensemble c’est correct.

What I got did not live up to the online descriptions and what I paid for. I was disappointed.

I liked Dennis and Paula. Thankfully, air conditioning was one thing that I paid for and received.

I did not get what all I paid for (according to the description) and expected. The choices on television were very slim. There was no hot water in my bathroom. I had no stove in my quarters as I thought was part of my accommodations. The electrical plugs by the beds were scary loose!

Great place for beach vacation

Great location, super clean, very friendly staff, walking distance to the bars and restaurants, 3 min to the beach, accessible by public transportation (any bus from the airport, minibus 3D to the airport).

If AC is important for you, please request a room with AC.

Great location, great service, great price!

An amazing bargain! You can’t get any better at this price point. It is 3 minutes from beautiful Dover beach, clean and comfortable. The hosts are very nice! If you are looking for a cozy place to stay without destroying your wallet, this is it!

Everything thing was good except the bed and bath linens

The bed sheets and bath towel need to be changed, they are too wear and tear.

good value for price, charming building, local owners, good location at Lawrence Gap.

It's a short walking distance from Worthing beach that has got facilities (showers, changing rooms) and food places and is excellent and safe for some swimming, also short walking distance from Dover beach that is also safe and nice for swimming. There was air con in my room, bed was king size and comfortable, fridge freezer was spacious, all good really, good value for price. Furniture rather antient, squeaky chair, but who cares.

Reception area most of the time was unmanned and owners were there only when they have guests checking in or out. So sometimes there was nobody to ask questions or ask help. But this was Christmas time so I don't know how it works rest of the year. Tiny frogs outside were very noisy at night, so if you are sensitive to beeping noises, take earplugs with you. Also my room was very near the reception so it was quite noisy in the evenings with radio or tv or people talking. This hotel needs some renovations, it is quite antient, but room and bathroom was clean.

The price is right, would stay again!

The location is great, the studio was a good size, lots of food options you can easily walk to. I would stay again, just not when I need to work and sleeping with ear plugs in! The price is definitely right!

Let me start by saying I tried to ask several questions while I could still cancel my booking and couldn’t get straight answers… I asked the internet speed as I work from home a few days a week and never received an answer. FYI it’s horribly slow; under 1 mbps. See attached photo of a speed test. I asked if the space had a desk that could accommodate two monitors, they said each room had a desk. The studio does not have a desk, just a tiny dining table that cannot accommodate two monitors. I also asked if someone would be present to check me in/what to tell the taxi driver to get to the property and the response I received was “confirmed”. There’s a family that lives at/manages the property, the common kitchen is their kitchen, the common area is their living/dining room. There are children’s toys all over and half eaten food on the tables, sometimes they are sleeping on the the couches in the entry way. There is no sound proofing so you can hear them yelling at each other throughout the day and I even got to hear the dad beating his kid once. There was no salt/pepper/oil in the studio kitchen. I stayed two weeks; the aircon is on a timer you have to watch carefully because it goes out every 3-4 days and you have to get them to start the timer again and you don’t want it to go out in the middle of the night. The fan was broken.

Nie wieder Rio Guesthouse

Die Lage war soweit gut.

So ziemlich alles. Alles sehr heruntergekommen, Küche und Badezimmer unhygienisch. Handtücher sind eine Zumutung. Die Wirtin hat versucht, doppelt zu kassieren, behauptete am zweiten Tag plötzlich, ich hätte noch nicht bezahlt. Konnte ich nur mit Kreditkartenbeleg widerlegen, da ich keinerlei weitere Quittung oder Rechnung erhalten hatte. Personal sehr wenig hilfsbereit und unfreundlich. Balkon konnte nicht genutzt werden, da sich dort fast durchgängig ein drogenkonsumierender zwielichtiger Dauergast aufhielt. Ständig Rauchgestank vom Balkon im Zimmer.

I was not pleased with the service, I was told that they over booked and had to be moved to another apartment near by. I was told that I would have to pay for the spare room, in this near by

Exceptional

When I arrived at Rio's apartment, it was not the apartment style typed guesthouse that I expected. However, the hosts were quick to provide me with alternative arrangements, which exceeded my expectations. The hosts were hospitable and ensured that all our needs were met.

Cheap accommodation in a good location with lovely staff.

The staff were wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble. We were a group of 4 that chopped and changed our plans, then we were joined at the last minute by another 2 so not an easy booking for them to manage. The Deluxe Queen Studio was lovely and big with lots of windows so we rarely needed the air conditioning. We had all the kitchen equipment we could hope for. We had a nice little table with chairs and armchairs so lots of places to sit. The other rooms had access to a shared kitchen. Some had their own cooker and fridge. We were within a few minutes of cafes and bars so never did cook! We spent most nights on the balcony as it had enough sockets for lots of phones and tablets, just like the rooms. We were an easy walk from bus stops and just a short walk to the sea. Rio Guesthouses is on my list to recommend when people ask me where to stay.

I couldn't get my TV to work. I could turn it on but not find free channels but that might just have been me as they did come in and show me how to do it! The air conditioning in one of the rooms didn't work. They couldn't get it fixed so my friend had a couple of less comfortable nights until someone moved out and they could move her to another room. I couldn't find the address on some maps but I think that's a Barbados thing!

Great guesthouse, great location! Will be staying here again.

The gentleman/owner was very welcoming and accommodating! He was able to answer all my questions and was very friendly! My husband and I stayed in the Deluxe Queen Studio and had a wonderful time. The guesthouse is right in St. Lawrence Gap which is a perfect location for tourists. We hung out in the gap a few nights at a local bar but babe showed me around I was able to really experience the culture of the island! Long story short, it's a great place to stay with a great location, and friendly people!

Could use some foam egg shells on the bed to make it more comfortable. New, or thicker, pillows would be a good touch as well since they're terribly flat. I dealt with it by sleeping with my travel/neck pillow. They do change the linen (bed & bath) and trash cans every 3 days. So if you're people like us and use a new wash cloth and towel every night, then you need to bring your own with you. Otherwise it's great!
