We first visited the Red Lion Inn for a drink when we visited Alnmouth in 2023, and immediately knew we wanted to stay at the inn! We were attending a wedding nearby and it was the perfect chance to stay here. Check-in was easy and fast, our room was clean and comforting, we were able to book to have dinner in the pub, and we had a delicious breakfast the next morning.
Wish we could've stayed longer!

Nothing to improve.

The room was beautifully designed with lots of lovely artwork on the walls . The bed was so comfortable I didn’t want to leave it . The place is run by a family and you certainly feel that extra attention to detail and the warmth that they extend to the guests and the community as well . We felt like we became part of the community for a short time .

Lovely breakfast - great location - parking on the road sometimes hard to find . They do food some evenings, but we didn't try it . Looked good!

Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. The helpings are generous and everything is cooked freshly : a very good system is employed re ordering and timing the breakfast which makes everything easy.
Breakfast staff were welcoming and professional.
The room was beautifully decorated and the en suite was one of the nicest we have seen.
Some information on early closing of the bar on Sunday evenings i.e 8pm as there are not many other places to go in Alnmouth on a Sunday evening. It would have been nice to have been able to unwind in the lounge of the bar after a day’s sightseeing.
A small fridge in the room would also add to the whole experience.

Beautiful location. Food excellent, King Room very comfortable and clean.
At times service a little chaotic as not enough staff and it would have been so nice for someone to ask if I needed anything or enjoying my stay. Again this could be due to not enough staff.

I can not recommend the Red Lion and the wonderful staff that run it and work here enough. Absolutely amazing, friendly, kind and caring customer service. Nothing was too much trouble and the communication was fabulous.
Georgie, Ben and their team really do go the extra mile and they made the trip run so smoothly.
Hotel was spotless, clean as a whistle! Room was absolutely beautiful.
Nothing, everything was perfect!

Exceptionally clean and very comfortable rooms. Given an upgrade to room 3 on the top floor, fantastic shower and bath. Bed was large and very comfortable with cotton sheets and comforter. Staff were amazing. Lucy in particular. Breakfast was outstanding, the Craster kippers and the smashed avacado with poached eggs recommended. If I could score 11 I would!!!
Very difficult to find any fault. Would prefer better coffee in the morning, weak filter was only available

The location was perfect for visiting local beaches, castles/gardens, the breakfast was superb and the evening meals available were excellent.
We could have saved a substantial amount of money by booking direct with The Red Lion and not through booking.com.

Lovely Inn with rooms. Prechosen breakfast was great and most comfortable bed I have slept in for ages.
All fine

No dedicated E-bike storage but the staff on arrival allocated a safe covered area where we could happily lock them up overnight. The room was spacious, clean and modern and the bed was very comfortable. It is made clear on their web site that if the pizza oven is running then their restaurant is closed as was the case on the evening we stayed. However, the pizza was excellent and good value. If pizza is not your thing I suggest pre-booking a restaurant along the street (there are several) as they were busy. Breakfast was excellent. Alnmouth is very picturesque and ideal for walking and cycling, Warkwith town and castle are also close by.
As previous comments, parking is very limited in Alnmouth in general. We unloaded then I moved the car. It would be unfair to criticize The Red Lion for this as it is an old building with no possibility of adding a carparking area, just be aware.
