About this cottage rental
Enjoy a piece of history, this stone house was built in the 1930's. One of three that were part of Rimrock Ranch Bar Lazy-R, a "dude ranch" where VIPs and movie stars would stay as they were filming westerns in the Sedona area or relaxing. In the 60’s it was Mobster getaway hiding spot. The stone house sits elevated on a hillside with overlooking panoramic views of forestry land, local homes & farms, with scenic pinions.

Our experience was so nice and relaxing. So many games at the home and a cozy space. My pups had space to roam outside and of course the farm and sunset views were the best part

I had a great time. It was a wonderful place to stay. The place is almost 100 years old but in wonderful condition. Everything worked properly. Funny story…I moved the dog bed from the corner to the middle of the room and there was a dead gecko in the corner. I grabbed a paper towel to throw in trash, but missed the first time. I went to grab it the second time and it scurried off! I chased it down and threw it outside, we had a great laugh. Track life!

I had a nice long stay at Joe’s little mountaintop farm. The views across the desert are awesome, and the cottage is a sweet little place to stay. Joe and all of his animals are very friendly and hospitable.

The place was a great getaway from the noise of the city to the tranquility of the nature, where you get to enjoy fresh breeze, have a hill-top view, and great for stargazing at night.
You get to meet and feed some chicken, ducks, geese, goats, and turkeys, which was so much fun.
There are so many hiking trails nearby as well.
Joe was very friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay.
I would definitely consider visiting again!

We enjoyed our stay.

Joe was an amazing host with a spectacular property! He was very easy to communicate with, added special touches to make sure our dog was welcome. Everything we needed to make an amazing meal and enjoy a night by the fire overlooking a gorgeous view was readily available. I especially enjoyed meeting, feeding, & learning about the animals. A chicken even let me have 3 eggs! We’ll definitely be back! Thanks, Joe!

We were looking to get away and unplug this holiday and this little cottage delivered everything we were expecting plus some pleasant added surprises. Joe is such a great and friendly host and thought of everything, there are so many thoughtful details that made this stay feel so homey and comfortable. He even had supplies for our dog ready. There was nothing we were lacking. Also, have to mention the record player and the fantastic and eclectic record selection.
The grounds are beautiful, and the farm animals just a few yards away became such a highlight of the trip. I fell head over heels for the sweet little calf and learned that turkeys are quite the curious little characters. Also, getting to pick FRESH eggs was such a special treat.
The only complaint I have is that it was really hard to leave on the day of check out. Definitely planning on coming back!

My husband, myself, our son, his wife and their 2 sons (8) & (6) stayed three nights. The house is a cozy stone cabin, very clean. Beautiful views. Our host Joseph has goats, a cow, chickens, ducks, turkeys and more. We had fresh eggs every day. The boys fed the animals everyday. It was great no electronics we did sight seeing during the day and played games at night. We will be going back.

Fun place with some history and lots of character. Not cold but out of the city for sure. The animals were really cool.

Wonderful rustic cottage where we relaxed and disconnected. Great location with peace and quiet. Bed was very comfortable and kitchen well stocked.

The cabin was very nice on the inside; clean and neat. It comes stocked with all you need to prepare meals for your stay. There are no electronics there, per se, except for the wifi which is what we were looking for. The surrounding area is quiet and dark at night.
The animals next to the cabin are all very nice. We were able to visit in their pens and feed them snacks more than a few times. At one point we were able to secure some eggs from the hens to cook inside the cabin.
Joe was extremely nice and did a great job of making us feel welcome. He took the time to introduce us to the farm animals and give us a small tour. He also kept in touch with us during our stay to ensure we had what we needed.
All in all it was a wonderful experience and we want to take our children up there at a later date.

We loved the stone cottage! Excellent views and you simply fall in love with all of the animals on the property especially the baby goats! Joe the host brought us an assortment of fresh eggs which we enjoyed each morning! Farm to table at its finest. Joe gave us many suggestions of things to see in the area we really enjoyed Dead Horse Ranch state park, highly recommend! The cottage is stocked with everything you need. If you want to see Sedona but don’t want to deal with the congestion then this is the place for you.

We absolutely loved our stay here, our kids had a blast visiting with all the animals, the home is very clean and cozy. The view off the porch is so cool, the front yard is fenced in which was perfect for kids and dog. Joe is very hospitable and made sure we had everything we need, he even gave us a bunch of goose, duck and chicken eggs. It’s a little off the beaten path but would absolutely recommend staying here to make fun memories with your family they will never forget!

If you want to visit Sedona or the surrounding areas. You want to stay at this location if you can! It’s up on a hill away from it all with a complete live stock right next to you- (didn’t hear them at all at night or day). The cabin has EVERYTHING! & there are fabulous farm fresh eggs! 10/10 would recommend.

This was the perfect getaway. Joe was very helpful, let me know that I could check in early, and generously introduced me to the animals and shared ideas for activities in the area. The cottage was spotless and a nice mix of yesterday and modern conveniences. Location-wise, it was away from it all but still convenient to Sedona and local attractions. There was plenty of privacy, and the sunsets were breathtaking.

My husband, pup and myself had a nice weekend getaway for my birthday. The yard was fenced in so Bella could run and enjoy the outdoors! I went to visit the goats and chickens, so nice having a cottage on the farm. The views were awesome! We lit a small fire using the fire disc. Very nicely updates 1903’s cottage, there is no TV absolutely loved that being able to unplug and enjoy the outdoors and my little family! We look forward to visiting again!

We had seven adults and three children stay at both the ranch house and the bunkhouse. We had some large dinners and meals that we worked together on in the kitchen, which was well appointed and large enough to handle our group. The vibe of this old property is spectacular and was very conducive to a feeling of special connection. The addition of the animals on the property and the willingness to share them with an amazing bonus for kids and adults I like loved.

Had a great time staying at the stone cottage. It was so nice to unplug, sit in front of the fireplace at night and just relax. The farm animals are really fun and the fresh eggs are amazing. The location is close enough to get to Sedona to enjoy the trails and amenities but not have to deal with the crowds. We'll definitely be back!

What a great little cottage! Very clean and quaint. Joe the owner was very friendly and knowledgeable and allowed us to enjoy every inch of the property. The animals were fun to be around and were very excited to see us each morning and evening around feeding time. Enjoyed the fire pit every evening and amazed at all the stars we were able to see. Great experience and great weekend! Thank you Joe!

I came here to reset my mind and body. I enjoyed the quiet and farm animals. The living furniture is all very nice and couches and chairs are comfy for book time and there is even a record player and some classic vinyl. The amenities, despite historic age, is very well equipped. I didn’t lack for much. If you are coming here, bring your food or find Basha’s a few miles south. There are several historic venues in the area before trekking to Sedona. If your GPS sends you off a paved road to Sedona, i would not take the road in rough weather. I have a Tesla and did just fine since it was a dry dirt road. I wouldn’t do it without 4 wheel drive if there was mud/snow. It’s short like maybe 3 miles on an unpacked washboard road. I am looking forward to seeing the changes Joe may make soon and am booking my next trip soon! Thank you Joe!

The cottage was exactly as described and one of the most well stocked I have ever stayed at. It was like a step back in time with the brochures from its earlier days. We also enjoyed greeting all the animals each morning.

Unique spot with character, views and animal friends nearby. Sparkling with details, it shows the love invested. Skip the hotels near the freeway and find personality instead. Only mistake we made is not spend enough time.

We felt so at home here! The house is cozy and very clean! We also made new friends with the farm animals. It was a lovely place to relax!

We rented this property for an evening to do a photoshoot because the cobblestone look is beautiful. The house was clean and in great condition. Communication with the property manager was great and he went above & beyond. The animals were an added bonus and so much fun to have nearby and go say hello to! Truly a therapeutic experience booking this place.
Can’t wait to come back and stay the night!

Wonderful stay!
This cute cottage was just adorable, but the highlight of the stay were the animals at the little farm. Joe was a fantastic host and was easy to communicate with, he even went and got the chicken and duck eggs for us to cook since we got in so late. If you are wanting something quiet and with charm, this is the place.
