About this cabin rental
Welcome to Dream Acres retreat…a family/dog friendly escape in the forest providing an ideal backdrop for an intimate retreat or large family getaway (sleeps 12+)! Loft excluded, the property is child and limited-mobility friendly as the entire cabin is accessible without any stairs and sports a wraparound deck with covered patios. We’ve worked hard to ensure you enjoy this escape from ordinary life as much as we do!
The Location:
Dream Acres is nestled perfectly between all the sightseeing and adventure Northern Arizona has to offer… a base-camp providing quick access to the Grand Canyon’s world famous views, Sedona’s stunning red rocks, Flagstaff’s ski town charm, and Williams’s Bearizona, Canyon Adventure Park, Route 66, & Grand Canyon Railroad / Polar Express (Winter) train ride. As if that wasn't enough, between the back yard and a short drive, you can find hiking, fishing, sledding, lava tube caves, and the reindeer farm. There is a historic Route 66 outpost 4 miles down the road serving amazing made-to-order breakfast (try their green chili breakfast burrito), lunch, and dinner options in addition to any staples you may want like flour, bread, ice, wine, and just about anything else you’d need (in case you forgot marshmallows for smores). One of our favorite spots to visit is a nearby lake that’s a bird sanctuary where we have often seen Bald Eagles and other amazing birds up close!
The Property:
Looking for a trip, OR AN EXPERIENCE? Why not make where you stay part of your adventure instead of just where you sleep?!?! Instead of a house like the one you live in, you can have a real log cabin in the woods with all the comforts of home! This retreat avoids neighborhood settings where everyone sees and hears each other. Here you avoid the worry of close roads, loud traffic, and the dust and noise that comes with it…making it possible to lay in one of the several hammocks for hours and hear nothing but nature!
Our cabin sits at the rear of 10 tree filled acres, and backs to 1.6 million acres of Kaibab national forest. There is a private gated gravel driveway 1/4 of a mile long shared by only two other properties (one of which is at the front by the road, the other on five acres next to ours). This means you are undisturbed…and unlikely to see or hear anyone most of the time. The back acre around the cabin is fully fenced (~3.5 ft high) so children and dogs can roam about exploring without concern of any traffic, strangers, or forest critters saying hello. You’ll be surrounded by trees with no view of the main road. Relax on the front porch swing with unobstructed views of Snowbowl (you can see the ski runs) and the entire valley…making for a stunning backdrop to escape and unwind. The rest of the cabin is surrounded by the shade of a thick 40’+ tall ponderosa forest. The front yard has no lights, allowing for stunning views of the stars and Milky Way, while the backyard has smart outdoor lighting... allowing for enjoyment of the backyard throughout the night regardless of if you’re relaxing on one of the four hammocks, doing archery (rental fee & waiver), or playing horseshoes (we will have the new and improved zip line back up soon). We have a firepit with seating for 12+ (Strictly allowed only when no fire restrictions!!!) There is plenty of parking for several cars, an RV, or toy haulers. The rear fence allows access directly to the forest and the hundreds of miles of hiking, walking, and off-roading trails. Please be advised, there is no smoking in or around the cabin as there is a high risk of fire. For your pets, the laundry room has a doggie door into a fenced dog run with covered roof…allowing them to go outside at night but not risk running off or into wildlife. It also allows you to go on trips where you can’t bring your pet, but want them to have some room to roam and go the bathroom without locking them in a crate or worrying about them messing up the rental. Over the years we have seen rabbits, raccoons, squirrels, fox, deer, cows, and elk on/around the property along with a wide variety of bird species, the most common being hummingbirds and blue jays.

We had a lovely time at this property, just what we were looking forward. Quite, relaxing but still close to attractions and activities!.
The property owner had amazing communication with any of the questions my husband and I had.
Our dogs loved the fenced in acre to run while my husband and I enjoyed the hammocks reading books.
The stars at night were very bright and you can actually see the Milky Way. A true dark community!!!
The griddle inside was perfect for breakfast and I can imagine during the winter months is awesome to cook on inside!
There is so much more to mention but you just need to go yourself!
My husband and I were already talking about how we need to bring more people here for a week getaway!

I’m so happy with our choice to have our small wedding here! The property is amazing! Lots of space inside. Plenty of room for everyone to hang out & relax. The back yard is the perfect spot for everything. Enough space for the ceremony, dinner & ending the night with the bonfire! I couldn’t ask for a better spot.
Leo the owner is incredible as well! Very responsive & so helpful! This truly a great spot!

Leo was very responsive with all questions and concerns. We had a couple hiccups and he made sure we were taken care of. Property was clean and spacious. Riding trails were amazing. Temperature was quite hot for July but we made the best of it. We definitely would recommend and are hoping to come back with cooler temperatures. Thank you Leo.

We enjoyed our stay. There was so much snow we couldn't enjoy the grounds but we'd like to stay again after it melts. The wifi was fast, the beds and furniture were comfortable, the bidet was a hit after a day of sledding. Although we couldn't find any restaurants that delivered, we were able to get Instacart delivery. When the driveway got muddy our 2WD almost got stuck on a few occasions. Thanks for the nice stay.

We had a great experience! We rented the cabin for a snowy fun filled weekend and when it snowed more than expected, the owner went above and beyond to ensure that we could access the cabin. We cannot wait to come back this summer!

This was my groups yearly trip to see the leaves changing and get some hiking in. Great location. Secluded, yet not out of the way.1st was the view from the front porch. There is not mention or pictures of the view in the description. Well, my groups description of the view was AMAZING!! When everyone arrived, we dropped out bags and all sat on the front porch for a good couple hours taking in the view of Mt. Humphreys, with snow caps, in the distance. BEAUTIFUL....
the property was very clean. There were 8 adults in my group. We had PLENTY of room and space. Even when we all were in the living room , relaxing, we did not feel crowded. We did have 1 furry friend with us, and he had PLENTY of outside space to explore. Host was very easy to contact and checked in on us a couple times over the weekend. I would recommend this for groups of 8. We will be back..
Thank you....

Just finished a magical stay here with my adult children. The cabin is wonderfully appointed with everything we hoped for- and more. I can’t remember when we last played together, and the beautiful countryside and choices of indoor and outside games brought out the kid in all of us. The cabin is very pretty, clean and well set up. Leo was accessible and thoughtful. As an example, when it started raining and the temperature dropped, Leo texted recommending that we put throw blankets in the dryer for a couple minutes to warm them up and then head out to the covered porch to watch the storm. We did and enjoyed it. There’s no place like home, except Dream Acres.

Love how quiet the property was and that the yard was fully fenced for my pups. I've rented many homes and cottages over the years, but this one was OVER the top. It was spacious, clean, had EVER amenity imaginable and was in a spectacular location. The outdoors was so serene and beautiful that it was hard to go off on outtings with the grandkids. The grandkids loved the hammocks and spent most all of their spare time in them reading or playing on their phones. I SO enjoyed my morning coffee outside with the birds and nature. Nightime found the kids all cuddled on the floor with one of the many games on the shelf and our nightly "star gazing" adventures. The location is close enough to Williams and/or Flagstaff for ease in traveling but far enough away from the city life to put you right in the middle of heaven. The owner was wonderful to work with and made sure we had everything we needed (which we did and more). I don't think I'll be able to top this cabin on future vacations. It was PERFECT.

Family centered Dream Acres
Our kids met us at this cozy cabin in the Kaibab forest. It was a great cool weekend to meet our kids coming from PHX and us from Vegas. This cabin really had everything I would want and more! Leo the owner kept in touch with me, super helpful for little questions. He had loads of indoor and outdoor games, a campfire seating area, target practice, hammocks, disc swing from the tree, walk around deck, front porch swing and the list keeps going. In fact, this house was so accessable, I imagine a wheelchair could easily manage through.
In the cabin two bathrooms, two nice private rooms with doors, a loft area with a bed and another open room with two sets of bunk beds and a over sized big comfy couch where my teenagers slept, lots of sleeping arrangements. All the rooms were big enough if you needed to bring a playpen or toddler beds to keep near you.
Kitchen was wide open that several people could be in there helping without stepping on each other. He had every dish, cooking and baking dishes there, including little kids plastic ware and over the top, everything was labeled! He had an indoor BBQ which I never seen before, perhaps to keep away wild animals.
He also had really great accomodations for my daughter's dog, he had a raised food/water dish in the kitchen prepared for him. Also an outdoor dog run which we found useful when the kids were playing ball, the dog was always the first to get it, interfering with their game. Most of the time the dog ran around enjoying the very large enclosed yard and catching bugs! Behind the property we were hoping to see deer but instead saw a cow or two roaming! Still pretty cool, they were not bothered by us riding our ATV's by them at all. Speaking of riding, out the back gate of the property there is plenty of riding. Immediately behind them is easy enough trails that our teenagers explored and found their way back easily. Then we took the family on longer trails, everything is really maintained, the trails and the forest and most of the roads were wide enough for our side by side. Our dirt bike riders only found a couple of more adventurous single track, most of it was family riding which was perfect for us! I kept thinking what a great 5K run it would be, only a couple of hills brought me back to my Spartan/ Tough Mudder days!
My kids all asked if we could make this an annual trip, so for us that was a great trip and lasting memories!

Family stay in the mountains
This cabin is absolutely beautiful and has everything you need for your stay. There is a gas grill and kitchen with everything you need for all your cooking needs. The porch is great for just sitting around to enjoy the view. There are lots of things to do nearby. We took advantage and went to the Grand Canyon during our stay. The host is amazing and was very helpful throughout our stay providing up to date information on the area. We will definitely stay here again!
